thesesafetyinformationbeforeusingyourmultimeter. Followallsafetypracticesandproperoperating
proceduresforequipmentbeingtested.
1. Exercise extreme caution when: Measuring voltageabove20volts,measuringcurrentgreaterthat10
mA,measuringACpower line with inductive loads, measuringACpowerlineduringelectricalstorms.
2. Alwaysinspectyourmultimeter,testleadsandaccessoriesforsignofdamageorabnormalitybefore
everyuse.Ifanyabnormalconditions exist (i.e., brokenordamagedtestleads,crackedcase,displaynot
reading,etc.),donotattempttotakemeasurements.
3. Nevergroundyourselfwhentakingelectricalmeasurements. Donottouchexposedmetalpipes,
outlets,fixtures,etc.,whichmightbeatgroundpotential.Keepyourbodyisolatedfromgroundbyusing
dryclothing,rubbershoes,rubbermats,oranyapprovedinsulatingmaterial.
4. Nevertouchexposedwiring, connections, testprobetips, orany live circuit conductorswhen
attemptingtomakemeasurements.
5. Neverreplacetheprotectivefuseinsidethemu ltimeterwithafuse otherthanthespecifiedor
approvedequalfuse. Replaceonlywithsame type of fuses. To avoidelectricalshock,disconnectthetest
leadsandanyinputsignalsbeforereplacingthefuses.
6. Replaceonlywithsametypeofbattery.Toavoi delectricalshock,Disconnectpowercordfromlive
powersource,andthetestleadsandanyinputsignalsbeforereplacingthebattery.

8. Measuringvoltagethat exceeds the limitsofthemultimeter may damage the meter and exposethe
operatortoashockhazard.Alwaysrecognizethemetervoltagelimitsas statedonthefrontofthemeter.
9. Neverapplymorethan500VDCbetweentheCOMjackandearthground.
10.Nevertouchavoltagesourcewhenthetestleadsarepluggedintoacurrentjack.
11. Whentestingforthepresenceof voltageorcurrent, makesurethevoltageorcurrentranges are
functioningcorrectly. Takeareadingofaknownvoltageorcurrentbeforeassumingazeroreading
indicatesnocurrentorvoltage.
12.Donotattemptcalibrationorserviceunlesstrainedandanotherperson capableofrenderingfirstaid
andresuscitationispresent.

Thisisthepositiveinputterminalforallfunctionexceptcurrent measurements.Connectionismadeto
usingtheRedtestlead.

Youcanturnthebacklightonoroffbypress button. Whenthebatteryisturned, thebacklight
turnedonovereithersecond,thebacklightisautoturnoff.
2. FUNCTIONSELECTORButton
IntherangeofMeasuringResistanceandContinuity, TheResistance orContinuitymeasurementis
changedalternativelybyeachpress button.
Intherange of Measuring FrequencyandAdaptedTest, TheFrequency orAdaptivemeasurementis

alternativelybyeachpress button.

3.Date Hold: HOLDButton
Press buttontotoggleinandoutoftheDateHoldmode, exceptifmultimeterisalreadyinthe
Min/MaxRecordingHoldmode.

beeperemitsatone.
Pressing buttonwhenmultimeterisintheDateHoldmodecausesittoexitDateHoldandenterthe
Min/MaxRecordingHoldmode.
IntheMin/MaxRecordingHoldmode,press b uttonstoptherecordingof readings,press
againtoresumerecording.
However, themultimeterisoperatingeventhoughinDateHoldstatus, therefore, thebuzzersoundis
comeoutwhenoccurthe over rangeorcontinuitymodes.Andtherangeisalsochangedifitisinauto
range.
4.Delay Data Hold: DELAYHOLDButton
When button ispressedover eightsecond,totoggleinandout of the Date Holdmode,andthe
" "annunciatorturnsonoroff.
5. Min/Max RecordingHold: MIN/MAXButton
Press button toentertheMin/MaxRecordingHoldmode.Theminimum,maximumvaluesarethen
resettothepresentinput,thereadingsarestoredin memory, and the " "annunciatorturnson.Push
thebuttontocyclethroughtheminimum ( MIN ), themaximum ( MAX ), andpresentreadings. The
"MIN"or "MAX"annunciatorturnsontoindicatewhatvalueisbeingdisplayed.

IntheMin/MaxRecordingHoldmode, press buttontostoptherecordingof readings, press
againtorestartrecording.Ifrecordingisstopped, theminimum,maximum,orpresentvaluesandanalog
displayarefrozen. IntheMin/MaxRecordingHoldmode, whenanewminimumvalueisexceedthe
actualminimumreadingsoranewmaximumvalueisoverload,theminimumormaximumvaluewillheld
onthedisplay,buttheanalogdisplaycontinuestobeactive.
Incaseofintheauto-range,themodeisheldtojustbeforerange.
6.Relative Display: RELButton
Press buttontoentertheRelativeDisplaymode,the" REL"annunciatorturnson,zerothedisplay,
andstorethedisplayedreadingasareferencevalue.
IntheRelativeDisplaymodemode, thevalueshownontheLCDisalwaysthedifferencebetweenthe
storedreferencevalue and the presentreading.Ifthenewreadingisthesameasthereferencevalue,
thedisplaywillbezero.
Thebargraphisdisplayedabsolutevalue,notrelativevalue.Andtheover-rangealsooccuragainstthe
absolutevalue.
Incaseoftheautorange,the range is held just before range.
Pressandholddownthe button for over one second, to exittherelativemode.

8.Data Memory: MEMSTOButton
Press buttontoentertheDataMemorymodeandturnonthe""MEM annunciator,allofdisplay
dataisstoredinthememory.ThestoreddatacanbereadoutanddisplayontheLCD,thenbecomesthe
DataRecallHoldmode.
9.Data Recall Hold: MEMRCLButton
Press buttontoentertheDataRecallmode,andturnonthe""MEM and ""annunciator,The
storeddatacanbereadoutanddisplayontheLCD,then becomes the DataRecallHoldmode.
Duringthestoreddatainthememorydisplay,the""MEM annunciator is blinking. And the DataRecall
Holdmodeisreleasedbypressing button or button.
Press buttontoselecttheManualRangemodeandturnoffthe""AUTO annunciator.
7. RANGEButton
IntheManualRangemode, eachtimethe buttonispressed, therange (andtheinputrange
annunciator)increments,andanewvalueisdisplayed.
ToexitTheManualRangemodeandreturntoautoranging,pressandholddown buttonoverone
second.The""AUTO annunciator turnsbackon.
TheDC V, AC V, Resistance and Capacitancemeasurementarealways first set to the autorange.
Thefrequencymeasurementisalwayssettotheautorange.
TheContinuity,Diode,ADP,DCAandACAmeasurementarealwaysfixedtherange.
Whenpower is turned-on, default range is selected.

10. RS232CButton(Thefunctionofcommunicationisoptionalbyuser.)
Press buttontoenterthecommunication.YouwillfindthattheRS232Csignbeitlitonthedisplay.
Fixedonesideofcabletothemeterandconnectthe9pin?sterminalof cable to communicationport1or
port2ofpersonalcomputer.
Executethesoftwaretotakethedataforyounecessary.
BuzzerOutput
2kHzbuzzersoundisoutputinfollowingcases:
1. Whenoperatethekey.
2. Whenoccurtheover-range.Except the measurement mode of Resistance(Ω),Frequency( Hz ),
Continuity( )andDiode( ).
3. Whenthecontinuitymeasurementresultislessthan40Ω.
4. Whentherelativemodeisreleased.
5. Whenthemodeischangedfrommanualtoautor angebyoperatingthe . Pleasereferthe
timingchartforthetiming.
LowBatteryIndication
The "" markisdisplayedwhenthebattery load voltage dropsbelowaccurateoperatinglevel.

Toavoiduserforinjury and the multimeter for damage, the voltge valueofAC
powermustbeexaminedwithsamethepowerrequirementsofmultimeter
beforeconnectpowercordtolivepowersourceandtheswitchisturnedon.
Beforemakinganymeasurementsalwaysexaminethemultimeterandaccessoriesusedwiththe
multimeterfordamage,contamination(excessivedirt,grease,ect.) and defects.Examinethetestleads
forcrackedorfrayedinsulationandmakesuretheleadplugsfitsnuglyintothemultimeterjacks.Ifany
abnormalexistdonotattempttomakeanymeasurements.

damage,donotattempt to takeanyvoltagemeasurementsif the voltageis
above1000VDC / 750VACRMS. 1000VDC / 750VACRMSarethe
maximumvoltagesthat this multimeterisdesignedtomeasure.
1. InserttheblackandredtestleadsintotheCOM and VΩHz input terminals respectively.
2. SelectthedesiredDCvoltagerange,orsetautomaticrange.
3. Whenthemagnitudeofthevol t agetobemeasuredisunknown,always start with the highest range.
4. Connectthetestleadtips in parallelwiththecircuittobemeasured. Becarefulnottotouchany
energisedconductors.Notethereading.
5. ForDCvoltagereadings,ther edleadtipshouldbeconnectedtothepositivesideofthecircuit,the
blackleadtothenegativeside.Aminussignontheleft-handsideoftheLCDwillappearifthe leads are
connectedtheorderwayround.
6. Whenallmeasurementsarecompleted,disconnectthetestleadsfromthecircuitundertest.Remove
testleadsfromthemultimeter.
