Installation Guide
Step1A-Carmel: Remove the windshield, dash cover, complete front engine cowl, gauge/wire
loom cover, driver and passenger seats, driver’s side lower body trim section, rear center
wheel-well cover and left side rear finned assembly.
Step1B-Venice: Remove the windshield, dash cover, complete front engine cowl, gauge/wire
loom cover, driver and passenger seats, passenger side lower body trim section, rear center
wheel-well cover, right side finned assembly and shock absorber.
Step2A-Carmel: Remove both left and right inside kick-panel speakers.
Step2B-Venice: Remove both left and right inside kick-panel speakers. Note: For Venice
Blackjack model WITHOUT factory speakers installed, locate speaker mounting holes/cutouts
already in the aluminum frame, behind the fabric panels, and cut out the fabric panels to allow
speaker installation.
Note: For Venice Blackjack model WITHOUT the factory amplifier installed, you can skip steps 3
& 4.
Step3: Remove the stock audio amplifier located under the left underside of dash and along
with it, the complete amplifier/speaker wiring harness.
Step4: Locate the blue wire with plug on the audio amplifier harness and cut it off with 6” of
blue wire attached to the plug. (You will use this section of wire later during the installation)
Step5: Position the ROKKER amplifier back up under the dash, in place of the stock unit to get a
reference on the new mounting location and to make sure that the amplifier mounting screws
are in the correct location for your particular model.

Step6: Now bring the ROKKER amplifier back out from under the dash and use as a template on
top of the cowl (red/black power plug pointing forward) to locate and mark the extra mounting
hole, that will secure the new amplifier. Drill this one new hole using a 3/16” drill bit.
Step7: Route the new amplifier wiring harness from under the dash, up thru the large grommet
hole, routing the speaker wires down thru to their left and right-side locations, red power wire
to the accessory power wire connection block (as shown below) black ground wire to the
master ground post on top left side of dash cowl, route the 3.5mm plug to the 3.5mm jack from
the Bluetooth controller and plug-in. (For Blackjack without original Bluetooth controller,
purchase alternate Bluetooth controller from JMCorp).

Step8: Now locate the 6” blue wire section with plug (that you cut off of the stock amplifier
wiring harness) strip back the very end of the wire and crimp into the blue butt connector on
the new ROKKER amplifier wiring harness. Then plug the black connector on the end of the blue
wire, back into the corresponding wire harness location. Note: For Venice Blackjack model
WITHOUT factory audio system installed, splice the blue wire from the amplifier harness to any
good switchable 12v power source in the wiring harness.
Step09:Position the ROKKER amplifier under the left side of the dash, (power cable pointing
forward) and connect all harness plugs to the amplifier. (It is advisable to tape the RCA plugs
together, so that they don’t wiggle loose over time)
Step10: Slide the amplifier into the final mounting position, pushing the 3 studs up thru the
holes and then secure/tighten with the locking nuts. (insure that none of the wires are pinched
between the amplifier and inside upper dash panel)
Step11: Push the supplied foam pads into the back of each speaker kick-panel opening to
provide acoustic dampening and cut or trim as necessary to get a good fit. (It is OK if the
speaker presses against the foam pads as the speakers are installed).
Step12: Mount the left and right side ROKKER speakers by first plugging the wiring harness to
each speaker and then tighten into place, with the M4X1” machine screws. IF the threaded
holes in the kick-panels have previously been stripped out, then replace the M4X1” screws with
the self-tapping screws provided.

Step13: Turn on the acc ignition, link by Bluetooth a music source to the audio system
controller and verify that both speakers and the amplifier are functioning properly.
Step14A-Carmel: Route the braided ground strap from the front master grounding post, back
under the left side body, to the rear grounding post, located next to but outside of the battery
and secure.
Step14B-Venice: Route the braided ground strap from the right front master grounding post,
back under the right side body, to the rear grounding post, located next to but outside of the
battery and secure.
Step15A-Carmel: Route the subwoofer wiring harness, starting from inside the left rear storage
compartment, down thru the circuit breaker access opening, down thru the grommet, and
forward along the body thru to the upper engine cowl location. (Follow the routing of the
ground strap)
Step15B-Venice: Route the subwoofer wiring harness, starting from inside the right rear
storage compartment, down thru the circuit breaker access opening, down thru the grommet,
and forward along the body thru to the upper engine cowl location. (Follow the routing of the
ground strap)
Step16: Plug the 4-pin plug on the sub wiring harness into the corresponding 4-pin plug on the
ROKKER amplifier wiring harness, at the upper engine cowl location.
Step17: Disconnect the ground cable from the battery at this time and then connect the main
red power wire from the subwoofer harness, to the forward post on the circuit breaker box,
located inside the rear storage compartment.

Step18: Connect the main subwoofer ground wire to the left side body rear grounding post,
(Right side on Venice) located next to but outside of the battery and secure.
Step19A-Carmel: Slide the subwoofer into its left mounting position and hold in place as you
mark/punch the location for the 4 mounting holes in the rear firewall. Then remove the
subwoofer and drill these 4 holes using a 7/32” drill bit.
Step19B-Venice: Remove the 3 mounting brackets attached to the subwoofer, and relocate
them with 1 on top and 2 on the bottom of subwoofer, to allow mounting on the right side
cargo area, instead of the left. Now slide the subwoofer into its mounting position (wires
pointed toward the outside) and hold in place as you mark/punch the location for the 4
mounting holes in the rear firewall. Then remove the subwoofer and drill these 4 holes using a
7/32” drill bit.

Step20: As you slide the subwoofer back into position, plug the wiring harness plug into the
side of the subwoofer and then plug in the 2 RCAs at the same time.
Step21: Now position the subwoofer in its final mounting location and secure using the
M5X1.5” screws and locking nuts. Make sure to use the nylon spacer between the subwoofer
mounting bracket and the firewall, on the top mounting tab only.
Step22: Reconnect the negative battery cable, then turn on the acc ignition, link by Bluetooth a
music source to the audio system controller and verify that both front speakers, the amplifier
and subwoofer are functioning properly.
Step23: Re-assemble the Vanderhall complete.
