4 Operation and installation
4.1 Operation
JAUDT distributor valves can be supplied to order with the following control devices:
Hand lever
Pneumatic cylinder
Electric drive
The position of the flap can be identified as follows:
on manually actuated distributor valves by the position of the hand lever;
on pneumatically actuated distributor valves, by the piston rod of the cylinders;
on units with an electric drive, by the drive itself (position indicator) or with a lever gear, by the position of
the lever.
The controller provided by the client for units with an electric drive must shut down the unit after receiving
signals from the limit switches at the two limit positions.
You must also follow the instructions given in the attached operating manual for the electric servo drive!
Attention! Material damage!
Limit switches must be set exactly before operation and the drive must be protected
against overloading.
4.2 Installation
4.2.1 Installation position
Install the distributor valve with a vertical flow direction.
For all other installation positions, please consult JAUDT.
4.2.2 Installation instructions
JAUDT distributor valves can be installed without special tools or equipment by suitably trained personnel.
Electrical work must only be performed by an electrician with the relevant training and instruction.
The following must be ensured during installation:
Mating flanges must be absolutely parallel with the flanges of the distributor valve.
All flange surfaces must be clean.
Align the JAUDT distributor valve precisely with the pipes.
JAUDT distributor valves must always be installed without stresses. The fixing elements should therefore
be tightened crosswise.
The distributor valve must be correctly earthed if there is a risk of electrostatic charge.

4.3 Accessories
4.3.1 Limit switch (optional)
Non-contact, 230 V AC / 24 V DC
4.3.2 5/2-way solenoid valve (optional)
230 V AC / 24 V DC
The technical data sheets for the accessory parts are in the appendix.
5 Commissioning
This work may only be carried out by trained personnel who have been authorised to do so.
Before beginning work on the JAUDT distributor valve, you must make sure that the drive has been switched
off/disconnected and that the control room has been informed of the work.
Secure the system/shut-off element against inadvertent activation/opening.
The safety officer and/or the environmental protection officer may need to be informed before work begins.
Caution! Danger of death from electric current!
Work on the electrics must be carried out by a trained electrician.
Caution! Danger of injury!
If hot or aggressive media or aerosols are distributed through the JAUDT distributor valves,
suitable protective measures must be taken before work on the valve begins. This includes
protective clothing, breathing masks and the provision of collecting containers.
Caution! Danger of injury!
With powered JAUDT distributor valves, the drive must be sufficiently protected that there is
no risk of any injury. This protection must be provided by the system operator unless it is
included in JAUDT's scope of supply.
It is of course essential that the distributor valve is always open in one direction, i.e. care must be taken to
ensure that silos above it are emptied.
JAUDT distributor valves can be fitted with limit switches to provide "OPEN - CLOSED" position feedback.
The limit switches are adjusted in the factory. The setting must be checked during commissioning and
adjusted as required (see 6.1).
Follow the manufacturer's operating instructions if the unit is fitted with an electric drive!
