Congratulations on choosing to buy a JD Williams product. All products
brought to you by JD Williams are manufactured to the highest
standards of performance and safety, Please ll in and return the

We hope you will enjoy using you purchase for many years to come.
When using this product for the rst time:
Please ensure you follow these instructions:
1. The soleplate has been protected with oil; this may cause smoke
the rst time it is switched on, however this will cease after a short
while.
2. Before using for the rst time, remove any sticker or protective foil
from the soleplate. Clean the soleplate with a soft cloth.
3. To ensure the soleplate is kept smooth, avoid contact with metal
objects such as buttons and zips.

Getting Started
1.0 Dry Ironing:
Before using the iron, please
separate the clothes in
accordance to the wash care
lables, as it will be quicker for
the iron to heat up than to
cool, therefore clothes such as
synthetic fabric, silk etc with a
lower ironing temperature should
be ironed rst and then iron
clothes such as wool, cotton and
linen etc with higher temperature
later.
1. Stand the iron on its
charging base, and set the
thermostat switch to the
MIN position.
2. Plug in to the wall socket,
the indicator light will
come on to show the iron is
switched on and heating up.
3. Rotate the thermostat knob
button and heat up the iron
to the required temperature,
Dry iron the clothes after
the indicator light has gone
out, as this shows the iron
has reached the operating
temperature set.
1.1 Filling with Water:
1. Set the steam slide switch to
O (=no steam).
2. Hold the iron by the hand
and slant the iron at a 45°
angle, open Water-lling lid.
3. Fill the water tank using the
measuring jug (supplied). Do
not put chemically de-scaled
water into the iron.
4. Do not ll the water
reservior above the
indicated max level (200ml).
1.2 Steam Ironing:
Follow the instructions as detailed
in the previous section “Filling
with water (1.1)”.
1. Plug the appliance in to the
mains socket. The indicator
light will come on to show
the iron is switched on and is
heating up.
2. Set thermostat temperature
control switch to MAX
position as per the
temperature indicator to
generate the steam function,
otherwise water may leak
from the soleplate.

3. When the iron reaches the
desired temperature as
set the indicator light will go
out.
4. The steam output can be
adjusted by sliding the
“steam slide switch” either
forwards or backwards. To
generate more steam move
the slide down.
Caution: Do not use the steam
function on Synthetic Fabric,
Nylon, Synthetic Silk or Silk as it
could damage the garments and/
or the surface of the soleplate.
1.3 Burst of Steam:
This function provides more
steam to remove stubborn
creases.
1. Set the thermostat control
switch to MAX until the
indicator light goes o.
2. Release the steam by
pressing the steam button.
3. Allow the steam to penetrate
through the fabric, and
then release more steam by
pressing this button again,
to obtain the desired result.
Note:
1. Wait 3-5 seconds between
pressing the Steam Button
in order to obtain the best
steaming result.
2. DO NOT HOLD THE IRON
DOWN ON THE FABRIC FOR
MORE THAN 5 SECONDS
3. Ensure the water is lled to
the Max level before using
this function.
1.4 Spraying Methods:
1. Press water spray button,
to release a ne spray of
water on to the fabric before
ironing.

• This appliance should only be used as described within this
instruction manual.
• Do not immerse the appliance or its stand in water or other liquids.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs
of damage. Do not use if damaged, or if the appliance has
been dropped or if it has been leaking.
• Do not use the appliance if the lead is damaged. In the event
of damage, discontinue use immediately.
• Only use the power base and mains lead supplied with
this appliance.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected to the
mains supply.
• Do not place the appliance on any heat sensitive surface whilst
in operation.
• The plug must be removed from the socket outlet before the water
reservior is lled with water.
• The iron must only be used with the stand provided.
• The iron and charging base must only be used and rested on a
stable surface.
• This appliance is not for use by children. Keep out of the reach
of children.
• Always switch o and unplug the appliance when not in use.
• If the cable of cord of this appliance is damaged, it shall only be
replaced by a special cord or cable, available exclusivley from the
service agent to avoid a hazard.
This appliance complies with the requirements of Directives 89/336
EEC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 73/23/EEC (Electrical Safety of
Domestic Appliance), amended by Directive93/68/EEC (CE Marking).

Caution: If fabric consists of various kinds of bers, always select the
lowest ironing temperature of the composition of those bers.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
• Before cleaning, remove the plug from the socket and allow the
iron to cool down suciently.
• Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and non-abrasive (liquid)
cleaner.
• If bers are adhered to the soleplate, use a damp cloth with
vinegar to wipe o the soleplate.
• Never use strong acid or alkaline in order to avoid damage to the
soleplate.
• If scale builds up in the steam holes in the soleplate, carefully
clean using a wooden toothpick taking care not to damage the
soleplate. NEVER DO THIS WHILST THE IRON IS PLUGGED IN OR
OPERATING. ONLY CARRY OUT THIS PROCEDURE WHEN THE IRON
IS COMPLETELY COLD.
