Wireless Phone Adapter
User Guide

Simply plug Daptor Two into the 2.5 mm headset
jack of any wireless cell phone that accepts a third
party headset or earpiece. You can now send and
receive audio from your mixer or tape recorder
through the cell phone.
Your cell phone will recognize Daptor Two as a
headset which will disable the mic and speaker in
the cell phone. Since Daptor Two replaces the
headset, you will need to provide a microphone
and microphone preamplifier, and a headphone
amplifier and headphones to allow conversation to
continue.
Description

Connections
Connect the enclosed audio adapter cord between
Daptor Two and your wireless phone’s headset
jack. Your wireless phone should now recognize
Daptor Two as a headset and disable the phone’s
mic and earpiece.
Now connect either the
XLR or 1/4” input and
output to your mixer or
tape recorder.
You may use either the
XLR input or 1/4" input,
not both. The XLR input jack is disconnected when
a cable is plugged into the 1/4" input jack. The
same is true for the XLR and 1/4" output jacks.
Note: Wireless phones generate substantial radio
frequency (RF) noise during a call which can easily
leak into microphone cables, headphone cables,
even your audio equipment. Be sure to keep the
wireless phone one to two feet from any mixer or
tape recorder. It is also important to keep the
wireless adapter cord away from any other audio cords.

Wireless Phone Compatibility
This product was designed to take advantage of
the increasing number of wireless phones that
accept third party headsets and earpiece headsets.
While some wireless phones have the 2.5 mm jack
directly on the phone, others require a headset
adapter which converts their proprietary connector
into the 2.5 mm jack. JK Audio does not supply
these adapters. You must contact your wireless
dealer or your local electronics store to purchase
these adapters.
We’ve designed a circuit which emulates the
electrical characteristics of these headsets. Daptor
Two should work with all wireless phones that
accept generic third party headsets. However with
the increasing number of new telephones on the
market and their individual headset characteristics,
we cannot guaranty that Daptor Two will work with
every wireless phone available.

Hints and Tips
Daptor Two will provide the highest quality
connection possible between your audio equipment
and cellular telephone. However, due to the
unpredictable nature of wireless telephone service
we cannot guaranty excellent audio quality every
time Daptor Two is used. Audio quality is still
mostly dependent upon the connection provided by
your wireless telephone service. As a general rule,
the better the cell phone signal, the better your
audio quality will be. If your wireless phone signal
is weak, most phones try to compensate by
increasing their output signal. This can degrade
your audio quality by generating excessive RF
noise. If this happens, make sure to keep the
phone as far away from audio equipment and
cables as possible.
You should also keep in mind that most wireless telephones have
their own level controls. If you are having level problems that
cannot be corrected with the controls on your equipment, try
adjusting the volume on the wireless telephone itself.
Before you get any ideas, Daptor One does not
supply the necessary ring voltage or talk battery
which may be required by modems or other
manufacturers’ remote consoles.

The model Daptor Two is covered by a 2 year
warrantytobefreefromdefectiveworkmanshipand
materials. In the event that the Daptor Two needs
repair, you must call us to get an authorization, and
thencarefullypackandshipittous. Youwillpayfor
shippingtousandwewillpayforreturnbacktoyou,
UPS ground. No free repairs will be made if the
defect was caused by misuse, weather conditions,
orothercause,exceptfordefectiveworkmanshipor
materials. THERE ARE NO EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND
BEYOND THE WARRANTY HERE MADE.
