UltimaSwitch™
UltimaSwitch™ är tillförlitlig, hållbar och nyttjar avancerad
sensorteknologi. UltimaSwitch™ har inga rörliga delar eller
kvicksilver för att känna av vattennivån. UltimaSwitch™
känner automatiskt av om länspumpen är på 12 eller 24 V
utan att man behöver göra några manuella korrigeringar.
Säkerhetsförskrifter
• Sätt i en säkring med korrekt ampere (specificeras på pumpen)
• Installera enligt kabeldiagrammet på sidan 22-25
• Kabelanslutningarna ska avtätas med ett marint tätningsme-
del
• Alla elektriska anslutningar måste placeras ovanför högsta

Funktion

1. När länsvattnet stiger och når den andra detektorn vid
50 mm startar brytaren länspumpen med en 3 sekunders
fördröjning.
2. När vattnet sjunker till 20 mm och den första detektorn är
ovanför vattennivån stängs länspumpen av.
Installation
UltimaSwitch™ är konstruerad att passa alla länspumpar i
Johnson Pumps länspumpssortiment. Om UltimaSwitch™
används till pumpar av annan tillverkare eller om UltimaSw-
tich™ installeras separat, följ dessa instruktioner:
• Montera UltimaSwitch™ vertikalt med monteringshålen
mot botten och nära pumpen så att vattennivån är den
samma för både pump och UltimaSwitch™.
• Skruva ej fast UltimaSwitch™ direkt i skrovet. Använd en
monteringsbit av marin epoxyplywood fastlimmad i hullet
eller limma fast UltimaSwitch™ direkt i skrovet.
• Botten på UltimaSwitch™ kan monteras högre än pumpen
med aldrig lägre än pumpbasen.

Test
• För att testa UltimaSwitch™ funktionen, håll två fingrar
över de cirkulära upphöjningarna ca 10 sekunder. Om
UltimaSwitch™ är korrekt kopplad aktiveras pumpen.
Om fingret tas bort från den övre cirkulära upphöjningen
kommer pumpen fortsätta att pumpa. Om båda fingrarna
tas bort slutar pumpen pumpa efter en kort fördröjning.
• Testa UltimaSwitch™ med vatten i länsen för att säkerställa
att pumpen startar och stängs av ordentligt.

UltimaSwitch™
The UltimaSwitch™ is a highly reliable solid state switch
which uses no moving mechanical parts or toxic mercury
to sense water level and automatically controls a 12V DC
or 24V DC bilge pump. The UltimaSwitch™ automatically
adjusts between a 12V DC and 24V DC bilge pump without
any adjustments necessary.
Security
• Connect an in-line fuse of the appropriate amperage
(specified on the pump)
• Always install the switch according to the wiring
diagram on pages 22-25.
• The wire connections must be sealed with a marine
sealant.
• Insulation of cable sheathings must be placed above
the highest bilge water level.
• The UltimaSwitch™ is designed for 12 and 24V DC
operation only. Do not use any other voltages; do not
use AC or AC-DC converted power sources.
• Failure to use the appropriate fuse and connecting
wires according to the instructions provided will void
any Johnson Pump warranty and may cause serious
damage or personal injury.

Operation
See illustration on page 21
1. When the bilge water rises and reaches the second
detector cell at 50 mm (2”) the switch starts the pump,
with a 3 second delay.
2. When the water level has sunk to a level of 20 mm (¾"),
and the first detector cell is above the water level, the
pump is stopped.
Installation
The UltimaSwitch™ is designed to attach to all Johnson
Pump bilge pumps. Just snap in on the T-slot on the base
of the pump. When using it with other pump brands, or
when installing the switch stand alone please follow these
instructions:
• Mount the UltimaSwitch™ in a vertical position (mount
holes towards the bottom of the vessel), and close to the
pump, such that the water level is equal on both pump and
the UltimaSwitch™.
• Do not screw the UltimaSwitch™ directly to the hull of
the boat. Either glue the switch to the hull or use a mount-
ing block of marine plywood epoxy glued to the bottom of
the hull to fasten the UltimaSwitch™.

• The bottom of the UltimaSwitch™ can be mounted higher
than the pump, but never lower than the base of the pump.
Test
• To test the functionality of the UltimaSwitch™ hold two
fingers over the raised circular areas on the side for ap-
proximately 10 seconds. If the wiring is correct the bilge
pump will activate. If you remove a finger from the top
circle the pump should still be on. On removal of both
fingers from the circles, the bilge pump should no longer
run after a short delay.
• Make sure to test the UltimaSwitch™ with water in the
bilge of the vessel to re-affirm that the pump will turn on
and off properly.

UltimaSwitch™
Der UltimaSwitch™ ist ein sehr zuverlässiger Festkörper-
schalter, der an unbeweglichen mechanischen Teilen oder
bei giftigem Quecksilber eingesetzt werden kann, um den
Wasserstand zu ermitteln und automatisch eine 12V- oder
24V-Gleichstrom-Lenzpumpe zu steuern. Der Ultima-
Switch™ passt sich ohne weitere Einstellungen automatisch
an eine 12V- oder 24V-Gleichstrom-Lenzpumpe an.
Sicherheit
• Verwenden Sie eine Reihensicherung mit der passenden
Amperezahl (auf der Pumpe angegeben).
• Bauen Sie den Schalter immer entsprechend des auf Seite
22-25 dargestellten Schaltplans ein.
• Die Drahtverbindungen müssen mit wasserfesten Dich-
tungsstoffen abgedichtet sein.
• Die Isolation der Kabelummantelungen muss sich über
dem höchsten Bilgewasserstand befinden.
• Der UltimaSwitch™ kann nur bei Gleichstrom von 12 oder
24 Volt eingesetzt werden. Betreiben Sie den Ultima-
Switch™ nicht mit anderen Spannungen, Wechselstrom
oder über einen AC/DC-Wandler.
• Die Verwendung einer falschen Sicherung und der nicht
entsprechend der beiliegenden Anleitung vorgenommene
Anschluss der Kabel hat den Verlust der Garantie-
ansprüche einer Johnson Pumpe zur Folge und kann zu
schweren Personenschäden führen.

Funktion

1. WenndasBilgenwasser ansteigt und diezweite Detektorzelle
bei 50 mm (2”) erreicht, startet der Schalter nach einer
Verzögerung von drei Sekunden die Pumpe.
2. Sinkt das Wasser wieder auf einen Wasserstand von 20 mm
(¾") und die erste Detektorzelle liegt wieder über dem
Wasserspiegel, wird die Pumpe abgeschaltet.
Installation
Der UltimaSwitch™ wurde für den Einsatz bei Bilgepumpen
der Johnson Pump entwickelt. Lassen Sie ihn einfach an der
T-Nut am Pumpenfuß einrasten. Verwenden Sie den Schalter
bei anderen Pumpen oder als eigenständiges Gerät, dann
beachten Sie bitte folgende Hinweise:
• BringenSiedenUltimaSwitch™vertikal(Montagebohrungen
zum Schiffsboden hin) und nahe der Pumpe an, so dass der
Wasser-spiegel sowohl an der Pumpe als auch am UltimaS-
witch™ gleich ist.
• Montieren Sie den UltimaSwitch™ nicht direkt am Schiffs-
rumpf.Kleben Sie den Schalterentwederan den Schiffsrumpf
oder verwenden Sie eine Montageplatte aus Bootssperrholz
zur Befestigung des UltimaSwitch™, die mit Epoxydharz-

kleber an den Boden des Schiffsrumpfes geklebt wird.
• Der Boden des UltimaSwitch™ kann höher als die Pumpe,
darf aber nie tiefer als der Pumpenfuß angebracht werden.
Test
• Halten Sie für ca. 10 Sekunden zwei Finger über die
erhöhten runden Bereiche auf der Seite, um die Funktion
des UltimaSwitch™ zu testen. Ist die Verkablung korrekt
vorgenommen worden, wird die Pumpe eingeschaltet. Wenn
Sie einen Finger vom obersten Kreis wegnehmen, sollte die
Pumpeimmer nochweiterarbeiten. WerdenbeideFingervon
denKreisenweggenommen,solltesich die Pumpe nach einer
kurzen Verzögerung ausschalten.
• Testen Sie den UltimaSwitch™ vor allem auch mit Wasser
im Kielraum des Schiffes, um sicherzustellen, dass sich die
Pumpe korrekt ein- und ausschaltet.

UltimaSwitch™
UltimaSwitch™ est un contacteur à semi-conducteurs qui
n’utilise ni pièce mobile ni mercure toxique pour détecter
le niveau d’eau et qui commande directement la mise en
marche et l’arrêt d’une pompe de cale 12 ou 24 V CC.
UltimaSwitch™ s’adapte automatiquement à la tension de la
pompe de cale 12 ou 24 V CC sans nécessiter de réglage.
Sécurité
• Installez un fusible en ligne de calibre approprié (voir
l’ampérage nécessaire sur l’étiquette de la pompe)
• Installez toujours le contacteur conformément au schéma
de câblage en page 22-25.
• Les connexions des fils doivent être protégées par un
mastic d’étanchéité marine.
• L’isolation des gainages de câble doit être au-dessus du
niveau d’eau le plus élevé dans la cale.
• UltimaSwitch™ est conçu pour fonctionner sous 12 et 24V
CC uniquement. Ne raccordez aucun câble transportant
une autre tension ; n’utilisez pas d’alimentation en courant
alternatif ni connectée à un convertisseur CA-CC .
• L’utilisation d’un fusible et de câbles de connexion non
conformes aux instructions de pose, annule toute garantie
offerte par Johnson Pump et peut être à l’origine de graves
dommages corporels et matériels.

Fonctionnement

1. Quand le niveau d’eau dans la cale arrive à 50 mm (2”) de
la seconde cellule, le contacteur démarre la pompe, après
un délai de trois secondes.
2. La pompe s’arrête quand le niveau d’eau est redescendu
de 20 mm (¾") et que le premier détecteur est au-dessus
du niveau d’eau.
Installation
UltimaSwitch™ est conçu pour être fixé aux pompes de cale
Johnson Pump. Il suffit de l’encliqueter dans la rainure en T
sur l’embase de la pompe.
Procédez comme suit pour installer le contacteur avec une
pompe d’une autre marque ou pour l’installer en contacteur
autonome :
• Posez l’UltimaSwitch™ en position verticale (trous de
fixations orientés vers le fond du navire) et à proximité de
la pompe, de sorte que le niveau de l’eau soit le même sur
la pompe et le contacteur UltimaSwitch™.
• Ne vissez pas l’UltimaSwitch™ directement contre la co-
que du bateau. Collez le contacteur à la coque ou utilisez
une cale en contreplaqué marine collée à l’époxy au fond

de la coque pour poser l’UltimaSwitch™.
• Le bas de l’UltimaSwitch™ peut être installé plus haut
que la pompe, mais jamais plus bas que l’embase de la
pompe.
Essai
• Pour tester le fonctionnement du contacteur Ultima-
Switch™ maintenez deux doigts au-dessus des surfaces
latérales circulaires en relief pendant environ 10 secondes.
Si le câblage est correct la pompe de cale démarre. Si vous
ôtez un doigt du cercle supérieur, la pompe doit continuer
à tourner. Lorsque vous ôtez les deux doigts, la pompe
doit s’arrêter après un bref délai.
• Veillez à procéder à un essai réel de l’UltimaSwitch™
avec de l’eau dans la cale du navire pour vérifier une
dernière fois que la pompe se met en marche et s’arrête
correctement.

UltimaSwitch™
El UltimaSwitch™ es un interruptor de estado sólido
muy fiable que no usa ninguna pieza mecánica movediza
o ningún mercurio tóxico para mostrar el nivel del agua y
que controla automáticamente una bomba de sentina de
12V DC ó 24 V DC. Sin que sea necesario ningún reglaje
adicional, el UltimaSwitch™ controla automáticamente la
bomba de sentina entre 12 V DC y 24 V DC.
Seguridad
• Conecte un fusible en serie de amperaje adecuado (seña-
lado sobre la bomba)
• Instale siempre el interruptor según el diagrama de la
instalación eléctrica de las páginas 22-25.
• Las conexiones del cableado deben cubrirse con un mate-
rial de sellado marino.
• El aislante de las fundas del cable deben colocarse por
encima del nivel más alto del agua de sentina.
• El UltimaSwitch™ sólo está diseñado para funcionar entre
12 y 24 V DC. No use ningún otro voltaje; ni cualquier

• No respectar el tipo de fusible y el de conexión de cables
establecido en las instrucciones puede causar daños serios
y lesiones personales, quedará anulada cualquier tipo de
garantía con Johnson Pump.

Funcionamiento

1. Cuando el agua de sentina sube y alcanza la segunda
célula del detector a 50 mm (2”) el interruptor pone en
marcha la bomba con tres segundos de retraso.
2. Cuando el nivel del agua recae a 20 mm (¾") y la primera
célula del detector está por encima del nivel del agua, la
bomba se detiene.
Instalación
El UltimaSwitch™ está diseñado para adaptarse a cualquier
tipo de bomba de sentina Johnson Pump. Sin más fije la
ranura de sujeción en T sobre la base de la bomba. Al usarlo
con otros marcas de bombas, o cuando instale sólo el inter-
ruptor, siga por favor estas instrucciones:
• Instale el UltimaSwitch™ en posición vertical (monte
agujeros cerca del fondo del barco) y cerca de la bomba,
de manera que el nivel del agua de la bomba y del Ulti-
maSwitch™ sea igual.
• No atornille el UltimaSwitch™ directamente sobre el
casco del barco. Pegue el interruptor al casco o use para
instalar y fijarlo sobre el fondo un laminado marino enco-
lado de resina epoxídica.

• Se puede instalar el UltimaSwitch™ más alto que la
bomba pero jamás estar por debajo de la base de la
bomba.
Prueba
• Para probar el funcionamiento del UltimaSwitch™ man-
tenga durante aproximadamente 10 segundos dos dedos en
las áreas circulares del costado. Si la instalación eléctrica
es correcta la bomba de sentina se activará. Si quita usted
un dedo del círculo más alto, la bomba debe seguir encen-
dida. Al quitar ambos dedos de los círculos, la bomba de
sentina no tardará en pararse.
• Asegúrese de probar el UltimaSwitch™ con agua en la
sentina del barco para confirmar que la bomba se pone en
marcha y se apaga correctamente.

UltimaSwitch™
L’UltimaSwitch™ è un interruttore elettronico ad alta af-
fidabilità che non utilizza alcuna parte meccanica o mercurio
tossico per rilevare il livello dell’acqua e che controlla
automaticamente una pompa di sentina a 12V o 24V a cor-
rente continua. L’UltimaSwitch™ effettua il riconoscimento
automatico di una pompa di sentina 12V o 24V a corrente
continua, senza alcun bisogno di regolazioni.
Sicurezza
• Connettete in linea un fusibile dell’amperaggio appro-
priato (specificato sulla pompa)

Funzionamento

1. Quando l’acqua di sentina si alza e raggiunge la seconda
cellula di rilevamento a 50 mm (2”), l’interruttore avvia la
pompa, con un ritardo di 3 secondi.
2. Quando il livello dell’acqua scende ad un livello di 20
mm (¾") e la prima cellula di rilevamento si trova sopra il
livello dell’acqua, la pompa si arresta.
Installazione
L’UltimaSwitch™ è progettato per essere collegato a tutte
le pompe di sentina della Johnson Pump. Semplicemente
collegatelo con uno scatto alla scanalatura a T sulla base
della pompa. Quando lo utilizzerete con pompe di altre
marche o quando lo installerete da solo, per cortesia seguite
queste istruzioni:
• Montate l’UltimaSwitch™ in posizione verticale (fori di
montaggio verso il fondo della nave) e vicino alla pompa,
in modo che il livello dell’acqua sia lo stesso sia sulla
pompa sia sull’UltimaSwitch™.
• Non avvitate l’UltimaSwitch™ direttamente allo scafo
della barca. Potete incollarlo allo scafo, oppure usare

un blocco di montaggio di compensato marino incollato
con colla epossidica al fondo dello scafo per assicurare
l’UltimaSwitch™ in posizione.
• La parte terminale dell’UltimaSwitch™ può essere mon-
tata più in alto della pompa, ma mai più in basso rispetto
alla base della pompa.
Test
• Per verificare la funzionalità dell’UltimaSwitch™ tenete
due dita sulle aree circolari in rilievo sul lato per circa 10
secondi. Se il cablaggio è corretto, la pompa di sentina
si avvierà. Se togliete un dito dal cerchio in alto, la
pompa dovrebbe rimanere ancora in funzione. Togliendo
entrambe le dita dai cerchi, la pompa dovrebbe fermarsi
entro breve tempo.
• Assicuratevi di effettuare il test dell’UltimaSwitch™con
acqua nella sentina della nave per avere la conferma che
accensione e spegnimento della pompa avvengano regolar-
mente.
