Preface:
Thank you for choosing our TATTOU parent unit. By using the parent unit, you can hear your baby while talking back to him.
You can play soothing sounds and lullabies for him or her, all without any restrictions in range. We recommend you to read
this manual carefully, in order to guarantee optimal use of the product as well as its longevity. Please contact our customer
service (www.tattou.eu/support) in case you would find a defect or have any other problem.

System requirements:
To use your babyphone, you need to have the following at your disposal:
-A smartphone and/or tablet (compatible: iOS 6.0 and later, iPhone 4 and later, iPad 3 and later, iPad Air and later,
iPad mini and later, Android 4.0 and later)
-A wireless connection through Wi-Fi using 2.4Ghz connection speed.
-Wi-Fi name and password strictly consisting of alphanumeric characters
For an optimal functioning with the baby monitor, a minimum speed of 2Mb is required.

1.1. Setup Parent Unit
Power adapter
1. Connect the power adapter to the MicroUSB input on the side of the parent unit.
2. Insert the adapter into a 230V wall socket.
Only use the supplied power adapter.
Make sure nobody can trip or fall over the adapter cable. You can bundle cables that are too long with tape or cables ties
available specifically for this purpose.
Charging
The battery will be charged as soon as you connect the power adapter and insert it into a 230V wall socket.
• For initial use, charge the battery for at least 15 hours, even if the indicator shows a fully charged battery.

• The charging circuit for the battery is managed electronically and there is no risk of overcharging, this allows you to leave
the adapter connected at all times.
• In case you will not use the set for a longer period of time (>2 months), please make sure to disconnect the adapter from
the wall socket. When starting to use the set again, make sure to properly charge the battery.
Table support
The table support is located at the rear of the parent unit. Unfold it to place the parent unit on a table or cabinet.
1.2. Setup baby monitor VIO
Your device is plug and play. Once both the VIO baby monitor and the parent unit are set-up they will find each other, when
in range of 10 meters.
1.2.1. Add your baby monitor to your home Wi-Fi network using your parent unit
You will see that your baby camera is automatically connected to your parent unit. This installation will allow the baby
monitor to be visible from anywhere in the world.
1. Plug in your Tattou baby monitor and wait for the light to turn green.
2. Open the app on the parent unit
3. Open the settings of the babyphone
4. Choose Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi
5. Choose the personal Wi-Fi network you want to add your babyphone to, with its corresponding password
6. Press in the upper right corner to confirm
7. Go to the settings of the parent unit, which can be found on the home screen
8. Choose Wi-Fi
9. Connect your parent unit to the Wi-Fi network you have previously connected your baby monitor to.
10. Open the Tattou app, which will show your online baby monitor VIO.

1.2.2. Add your baby monitor to the smartphone application
Your smartphone will allow you to monitor your baby from wherever you are in the world, as long as you have a working data
connection.
1. Download the application in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
After downloading the application, make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your
baby monitor

You have now successfully added your babyphone to your smartphone or tablet.
2. Other connection methods
2.3. Using direct connection
This option uses the Wi-Fi of the Tattou babyphone to transfer image and audio. Use this option when:
a. you wish to only use the babyphone and parent unit in its direct environment,
b. you have no Wi-Fi available (e.g. when on holiday).
1. Plug in your Tattou babyphone and wait for the light to turn green.
If your babyphone has already been installed to a home Wi-Fi network, you should continue with resetting the
device. This can be done by using the small tool to push the reset button on the back of the device. Keep this button
pushed for more than 10 seconds. You will hear a verification sound when finished resetting.
2. Open settings on your smartphone or parent unit
3. Turn on Wi-Fi

4. Look for the Wi-Fi network of your babyphone.
5. Open the app and start monitoring
2.4. Install as an extra parent unit to the home network
Use this option if you have previously installed a Tattou babyphone to your home internet, and use your smartphone to
monitor.
Before the installation make sure your babyphone is turned on and is online.
1. Open settings on your smartphone or parent unit
2. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect the parent unit to the same network your babyphone is installed on
3. Open the Tattou application
4. Press to add the babyphone
5. Press to look for the babyphone in your network
6. Tap the babyphone with the corresponding UID-code, found on the bottom of the device
7. Provide the standard login or your customized login
2.5. Setup new baby monitor using smartphone application
1. Download the Tattou application in the Apple App Store or Google Play store
2. Go to settings on your smartphone or tablet
3. Turn on Wi-Fi
4. Connect to the Wi-Fi network of the babyphone
The network name consists of the name of your babyphone (VIO), combined with a set of numbers at the end.
The standard password is 123456789
5. Open the Tattou application
6. Press to add the babyphone

8. Select the babyphone with the corresponding UID-code found on the bottom of the device
9. Provide the standard login

11. Open settings of your babyphone inside the Tattou application
12. Choose Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi
13. Choose the personal Wi-Fi network you want to add your babyphone to, with its corresponding password

You have now successfully added your camera to your personal network.
2.6. Setup your baby monitor VIO using ZERO Emission
1. Plug in one of the ZERO Emission adapters into your router
2. Plug in the second ZERO Emission adapter into the baby monitor and the into the wall socket.
3. Plug in the power adapter and wait for the LED light to turn green.
Plug In the adapters directly into the wall socket, the use of an extension cord is not advised
4. Download and open the Tattou application on the Apple App store or Google Play store
Make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same network as your babyphone.
5. Press to add the babyphone

6. Press to look for the babyphone in your network
7. Tap the babyphone with the corresponding UID-code, found on the bottom of the device
8. Enter the standard login
9. Tap to complete
3. Maintenance
3.1. How to reset your baby monitor
1. Plug in your baby monitor and wait for the notification light to turn green. This should take around 30 seconds.
2. Use the delivered small pin to push and hold for 10 seconds the reset button on the back of the device.
The small hole of the reset button is indicated by the following symbol:
3. You will hear a notification sound to verify the reset.
4. Your device will reboot, which will take around 30 seconds to complete.
The Wi-Fi network of your baby monitor will be available again
3.2. How to update the Tattou app on the parent unit
Before installing your Tattou parent unit, please check if any updates are available.
1. Plug the parent unit into the wall socket and hold down the power button on the parent unit. The parent unit will
boot, and show you the Tattou logo. The booting process takes around 30 seconds to complete.
2. When the parent unit is fully booted, the home screen should display the Tattou app and a settings
button.
3. Open settings
4. Turn on Wi-Fi, and connect to a working Wi-Fi network
5. Go to App Update (still inside the settings menu)
6. This option will open the internet browser of the Tattou parent unit, and start the download of the latest Tattou
app.
7. Open the notification menu by sliding down from the top of the screen. Here you will see the progress of the
download.
8. Once the download is finished, tap ‘tattou-latest.apk’
9. This will open a new menu. Tap Install to start the installation of the newest version

This submenu is used to connect the babyphone to a personal network. Look for the available Wi-Fi networks close to the
babyphone.

Settings –User
Use this menu to change the standard password. It is very advisable to change your login credentials for privacy and security
reasons.
Settings –Notifications
Turn movement and/or sound notifications on or off, and choose its sensitivity
Settings –Update
Check for firmware updates regularly by tapping the ‘Check for updates’ button. The babyphone will download the new
software by itself, and restart accordingly. Do not switch of the device, and do not switch of your internet router.

5. Tips and warnings
The parent unit is not a medical device. It is strongly recommended to have an adult supervise the baby regularly. Premature
babies or children at specific health risks should be checked by a paediatrician or other medical staff on a regular basis.
Do not allow children to play with this product. It is NOT to be considered a toy.
Use only the included power adapter. The use of other power adapters could damage the parent unit.
Make sure the wires of the adapter do not get damaged and be careful that they do not cause a person to get tangled into
them and trip over them.
The parent unit is suitable for usage between -9° and +50° C. Never use the device in a wet, moist or very dusty environment.
Make sure that heat is well transferred, never cover up the device and/or the plug and do not place it next to a heat source.
Do not expose the device to direct sunlight.
Do not disassemble the device: it does not contain subparts which can be used separately.
Do not insert objects of any kind into the slots of the device. This action can cause a short circuit, which can cause electric
shock and/or fire.
Do not throw electrical or electronic waste with domestic waste, but take it to an approved assembly centre, as indicated by
this European symbol. The packaging of the babyphone can partially be thrown with waste paper.
The video transmission is established through the internet and the connection is secured along the current standards, but a
risk of being hacked cannot be completely excluded. We cannot be held responsible if this would happen. We advise to
change the standard password of the babyphone immediately after purchase, preferably with a combination of letters and
figures.
STRANGULATION HAZARD
Children have STRANGLED in cords. Use cable protective covering. Keep this cord out of reach of children.
Installation
Always connect the power adapter to the device before connecting it to the mains supply.
Do not use the parent unit during thunderstorms.
Do not touch uncovered wires unless they are disconnected from the power supply.

Maintenance
Only clean the device with a damp cloth; do not use chemical cleaning agents. Disconnect the adapters for cleaning.
Interference
In case the parent unit does not function anymore, please check:
-Is the parent unit switched on?
-Is the device charged or properly connected to the power supply?
-Disconnected the parent unit and reset the device
If after these measures the problems persist, contact the customer service of Tattou via www.tattou.eu/support
Declaration of Conformity
The babyphone meets the standards and prescriptions as defined in the European norm 1999/5/EC.
Warranty
We grant a warranty of 24 months starting on the date of purchase of the device. During this period, we guarantee a free-of-
charge exchange caused by material or assembly errors, provided the device has been used properly, which is for the
importer to assess.

THE WARRANTY ENDS: in case of improper usage, incorrect connection, incorrect installation of firmware, usage of non-
original subparts or accessories, neglect, defects caused by humidity, fire, flood, lightning strike and natural disasters,
unauthorised modifications and/or reparations by third parties, in case of incorrect transport of the device without suitable
packaging and in case if is not accompanied by this warranty card and the receipt of purchase. Wiring and plugs are not
covered by warranty.
Any further liability, in particular for consequential damage, is hereby excluded.

1.1. Configuration écran parental
Adaptateur secteur
1. Branchez l'adaptateur secteur dans l'entrée micro-USB située sur le côté de l'unité parentale.
2. Branchez l'adaptateur dans une prise murale de 230 V.
Utilisez uniquement l'adaptateur secteur fourni.
Assurez-vous que personne ne peut trébucher ou tomber à cause du câble de l'adaptateur. Vous pouvez regrouper des câbles
trop longs avec du ruban adhésif ou des attaches de câble conçues spécifiquement à cet effet.
Recharge
La batterie entre en charge dès que vous branchez l'adaptateur secteur dans l'appareil et dans une prise murale de 230 V.

• Lors de la première utilisation, rechargez la batterie pendant au moins 15 heures, même si le témoin de charge indique que
la batterie est pleine.
• Le circuit de charge de la batterie est géré électroniquement et il n'y a aucun risque de surcharge. Vous pouvez ainsi laisser
l'adaptateur branché en permanence.
• Si vous n'utilisez pas l'ensemble pendant une longue période (> 2 mois), veuillez-vous assurer d'avoir débranché
l'adaptateur de la prise murale. Lorsque vous réutilisez l'ensemble, assurez-vous d'avoir préalablement rechargé
correctement la batterie.
Support à poser
Le support de maintien se trouve à l'arrière de l'unité parentale. Déployez-le pour placer l'unité parentale sur une table ou un
meuble.
1.2. Configuration baby caméra VIO
Votre appareil est « plug and play ». Une fois que le babyphone VIO et l'écran parental sont installés, ils se détecteront
mutuellement s'ils sont éloignés de moins de 10 mètres.
1.2.1. Ajouter votre babyphone à votre réseau Wi-Fi domestique en utilisant votre écran parental.
Vous verrez que votre babyphone est automatiquement connecté à votre écran parental. Cela permettra que le babyphone
soit visible de n'importe où dans le monde.
1. Branchez votre babyphone Tattou et attendez que le voyant s'allume en vert.
2. Ouvrez l'application sur l’écran parental
3. Ouvrez les paramètres du babyphone
4. Choisissez Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi
5. Connectez l'unité parentale au réseau où vous avez installé le babyphone, en utilisant son mot de passe
correspondant.
6. Appuyez sur dans le coin supérieur droit pour confirmer
7. Naviguez vers les paramètres de l’écran parental, qui se trouvent sur l’écran d’accueil
8. Choisissez Wi-Fi
9. Connectez l’écran parental au réseau Wi-Fi auquel vous avez déjà connecté votre moniteur bébé.
10. Ouvrez l’application Tattou, qui vous montrez votre baby caméra VIO connecté
