concerning your JUDO reverse osmosis system, e.g. concerning the possible addition of expansion stages or if
you have any general questions concerning water treatment, then please contact our field service representative
or directly contact our works in Winnenden (Germany).
If you have any queries, please specify the model name, order and manufacturing numbers that you can find on
the type label of your JUDO device.
Every JUDO reverse osmosis system has been carefully checked prior to supply. Nevertheless, if difficulties

1 General notes
1.1 About these installation and operating instructions
These installation and operating instructions should simplify getting to know your JUDO reverse osmosis system
and inform you of its intended applications. The installation and operating instructions contain important informa-
tion so that you can use the JUDO reverse osmosis system safely, as intended and economically.
They contain basic information that must be observed during installation, operation and servicing. Observance of
this information will help to avoid dangers, reduce repair costs and increase the reliability and service life of your
JUDO reverse osmosis system.
Alongside the installation and operating instructions and the legal regulations applicable in the country and place
of use in respect of accident prevention, the recognised technical regulations for safe and professional work must
be observed.
All pictorial, dimensional and implementation information correspond to the date of going to press. We reserve the
right to make changes due to technical progress and continuing development. Model and product claims cannot
be lodged.
NOTE
The installation and operating instructions must always be available at the place of use of the JUDO
reverse osmosis system and must be kept in a good, legible state!
All persons involved in installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, servicing and repair of the
JUDO reverse osmosis system must be appropriately qualified and trained and must have carefully
read and understood these installation and operating instructions and also any separate installation and
operating instructions for other devices and systems!
1.2 Validity of the installation and operating instructions.
These installation and operating instructions are valid for the following models:

1.3 CE declaration
The applicable CE declaration can be requested from the manufacturer.
1.4 Warranty
The warranty is valid in accordance with our general terms of sale and delivery only if ...
■The JUDO reverse osmosis system is used solely for its intended use and its system components are not
opened, tampered with or incorrectly treated in any other way,
■Safety guards are used and these are not tampered with or removed,
■The operating conditions correspond to the technical specifications,
■Inspection and maintenance are performed according to EN 806-5:2012 and EN 14743,
■Repairs are only performed with original spare parts by JUDO customer service or authorised technical per-
sonnel,
■All work must only be performed by qualified and authorised technical personnel.
Alongside the general terms and conditions of JUDO Wasseraufbereitung GmbH, the following must also be
observed:
■On the basis of the order, the supplied components must be checked for completeness and sound condition by
the purchaser!
■The buyer must report in writing any visible defects within a period of 8 days from receipt of goods and any hid-
den defects within 8 days from their detection!
■Upon product delivery, missing parts, as well as missing technical documents or materials, must also be
reported within 8 days from receipt of the other goods!

General notes
1.5 Intended use
The JUDO reverse osmosis system produces pure drinking water from normal tap water and in doing so removes
any unwanted water hardness and nearly all organic water contents and other harmful substances. The compact
device is suitable for use in clear, colourless, iron and manganese-free tap water.
Intended use also includes the reading of these installation and operating instructions, adherence to all the safety
conditions and instructions contained within them and the performance of inspection and maintenance work at the
prescribed time intervals.
ATTENTION
Other uses are not compliant with the intended use and not permitted!
JUDO Wasseraufbereitung GmbH will not be responsible for the resulting damage, the operator alone bears the
risk!
NOTE
Only designated for operation in closed spaces!
1.6 Transport, storage, disposal
1.6.1 Transport
CAUTION
Transport the JUDO reverse osmosis system with care in an upright position, do not knock over, do not
transport when there is a risk of frost, also protect against dust and dirt effects!
1.6.2 System storage
CAUTION
Dry, frost-proof storage location with aggressive atmosphere!
Protect against the effects of coarse dust or dirt, also avoid UV radiation and direct sunshine!
Permissible storage temperature: +4 °C to +40 °C!
1.6.3 Disposal
Packaging
NOTE
The packaging must be disposed of sorted by materials!
Place cardboard and carton in waste paper recycling and film in materials recycling.
Disposal of old devices
NOTE
Old devices must not be disposed of with domestic refuge!
Electric and electronic components must not be disposed of with domestic refuge!
Material groups must be properly disposed of by the consumer according to their substance group!
The legal regulations applicable in the country and place of use must be observed when disposing of
different material groups and operating resources!

Warning and safety instructions, residual danger signs and pictographs provide the user of the operating instruc-
tions with information on possible dangers:
■Dangerous actions referred to in the operating instructions are preceded by warnings.
■General information, pictographs and information are presented with the respective action or at the relevant
points.
■Residual danger signs, insofar as residual dangers exist, are attached to the system.
2.1 Representation of pictographs
Danger pictographs
Danger pictographs supplement the warnings to clarify the type of danger.

2.2 Representation of warning messages
Danger class
Four danger classes are used in the operating instructions to identify dangers for persons and property.
The danger classes are identified by pictographs and signal words. If multiple dangers may appear simultane-
ously, the warnings are shown separately from each other. In this case, the highest danger class is listed first.
Risk of personal harm
To identify risks of personal harm, the following danger class warnings are used in the operating instructions.
Class Colour Risk
DANGER Signal red DANGER identifies a danger, which if not avoided, will result in
death or severe injury.
WARNING Orange WARNING identifies a danger, which if not avoided, may result
in death or severe injuries.
CAUTION Yellow CAUTION identifies a danger, which if not avoided, may result in
injuries.

To identify risks of property damage, the following danger class is used in the operating instructions.

2.3 General safety instructions
WARNING
Any working methods that might endanger safety must be avoided!
Non-observation of these installation and operating instructions and the safety instructions herein may
endanger persons as well as the environment and the JUDO reverse osmosis system itself!
The safety instructions do not take into account
■Random happenings and events that may occur during installation, operating and maintenance,
■Location related safety conditions for the observance of which the operator is responsible, even for contract
installation personnel.
WARNING
Unauthorised conversions and changes to the JUDO reverse osmosis system or tampering with device
components are forbidden for safety reasons!
Do not perform any changes, make any additions or carry out any conversions that could impair safety
without the manufacturer’s written approval!
Never remove safety equipment or deactivate it by making changes to the JUDO JRSF reverse osmosis
system!
The safety instructions of these installation and operating instructions must be observed without fail!
Only operate the JUDO reverse osmosis system with the caps and covers of all device components
correctly closed!
Fault-free operation of the JUDO reverse osmosis system is only ensured if original spare parts and
components are used in the combination described in these installation and operating instructions,
otherwise there is a risk of malfunctioning or damage!
Only allow authorised technical personnel to carry out repairs!
All work on electrical system components must only be performed by qualified electricians certified
according to an approved national scheme!
The electrical system components must be checked regularly!
Loose connections must be tightened immediately and damaged device components immediately
replaced!
WARNING
In the event of faults, switch off water and electrical power supplies.
CAUTION
Keep device away from children.
ATTENTION
If the device will not be used for more than 24 hours, switch off the water and electrical power supplies.
NOTE
The installation and operating instructions must always be available at the place of use of the JUDO
reverse osmosis system and must be kept in a good, legible state!
Separate installation and operating instructions of system components or other devices and systems
must also be observed!
NOTE
All persons involved in installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance and servicing of the JUDO
reverse osmosis system must be appropriately qualified and trained and must have carefully read and
understood these installation and operating instructions and also any separate installation and operating
instructions for other devices and systems or system components!

2.4 Safety instructions for electrical work
DANGER
Electric shock due to working on electrically live components
Death or severe injuries will result.
Switch off mains voltage prior to work on voltage-carrying components and secure to prevent
switching back on!
All work which may possibly need to be performed while the system is live must only be performed by
qualified electricians certified according to an approved national scheme!
ATTENTION
Ensure that electronic or electrical system components are not damaged by splash water for example!
NOTE
Switch off the power supply before working on system components!
2.5 Safety instructions for mechanical operations
CAUTION
Before cleaning, maintenance or repair work ensure that the JUDO reverse osmosis system is
hydraulically depressurised!
NOTE
These activities must only be performed by JUDO customer service or corresponding technical
personnel, who know and understand the overall system of the device and its environment!
2.6 Product safety
When placed on the market, the product complied with the state of the art in science and technology and the
recognised technical safety regulations. The product must be used according to the specifications given under
intended use. Residual danger signs and pictographs are attached to danger points on the system. The prod-
uct must not be changed mechanically or from a safety point of view without the express agreement of JUDO
Wasseraufbereitung GmbH. Product changes of this type made by the operator or on its behalf will result in the
declaration of conformity becoming void. If the product operator performs or orders such changes, the operator or
its agent must re-evaluate the conformity and arrange for a new declaration of conformity.

2.7 Duties of the operator
The operator of the JUDO reverse osmosis system is responsible for the following:
■The product may only be operated by qualified personnel, the qualification must be avouched.
■When operating the product, the information in these operating instructions must be complied with. This
applies equally for all components and replaceable modules of the product.
■The applicable laws, directives and regulations must be complied with.
■No conversions or changes to the product can be performed without the agreement of the manufacturer.
■All conversions and changes must be checked and documented from a safety point of view.
■Performance of inspection and instigation of scheduled maintenance at the prescribed intervals (adhere to
EN 806-5 and EN 14743).
■Constant availability of the installation and operating instructions.
■Perform regular visual inspection of the JUDO reverse osmosis system according to the conditions of use and
the hazard potential to prevent leaks and damage and also check for correct functioning of the system.

3.3.1 Function description
The reverse osmosis system produces pure drinking water from normal tap water in three stages and in doing so
removes any unwanted water hardness and nearly all organic water contents and other harmful substances.
Stage 1
The PP + activated carbon filter removes dirt particles, decomposition substances, deposits, sand and other parti-
cles to protect the RO membrane.
Stage 2
With a filtration fineness of 0.0001 µm, the reverse osmosis membrane removes bacteria, viruses, medicines and
other substances hazardous to health, as well as heavy metals and pesticide residues.
Stage 3
The T33/activated carbon filter removes odours and improves the taste of drinking water.

NOTE
Installation should only be carried out by JUDO customer service or an authorised specialist company!
Separate installation and operating instructions pertaining to other devices, systems and system
components must be observed!
NOTE
Check all components for damage before connecting!
Never use damaged components.
NOTE
Note the ambient temperature at the place of installation.
Use the device only if temperature is between +4°C and +40°C!
NOTE
Only designated for operation in closed spaces!
4.1 Conditions for safe connection
■The device is equipped with a booster pump and many only be operated with clean drinking water.
■Only operate using the supplied mains connection adapter.
■The place of installation must be clean, level and solid.
■Protect from direct sunlight, high humidity, high temperatures and explosive substances.
■Do not use unsafe electrical accessories.
DANGER
Do not operate close to flammable and explosive substances.
DANGER
If mounting holes have to be drilled in a wall, first ensure that there are no water pipes, gas pipes or
electrical cables in the wall!

The supplied PE tubes can be connected to each other without tools using the tube push-fit connectors.

Remove the cartridges from the transport packag-
ing and take off the protective film.
Insert cartridge in the device as shown in the fig-
ure, and secure by turning clockwise.

4.4 Water connection
1. Connect the T-valve to the water supply
Clean the connection point.
Close the water supply valve.
Remove the water tap connection.
Connect the T-valve to the water supply.
Connect water tap connection at the T-valve.
ATTENTION
Always seal screw couplings with PTFE tape or an O-ring seal to prevent leaks.
2. Connecting the water supply line to the device
Connect one end of the PE tube to the T-valve.
Connect the other end of the PE tube to the water supply inlet connection (FEED).
3. Water tap installation
Drill a 29 mm Ø hole at the intended installation location.
(Alternatively, the water tap can be freely secured with the angle plate)
Secure the water tap according to the figure.

4. Connect outlet for clean (PURIFIED) water
Connect 1/4” push-fit connectors on one side of the connections on the water tap.
Measure the distance between the connection at the water tap and the PURIFIED outlet.
Cut a 1/4" PE tube to the correct length.
Connect PE tube at the PURIFIED outlet and to the push-fit connector.
5. Connecting the drinking water outlet (DRINK)
Connect 1/4” push-fit connectors on the other side of the connections on the water tap.
Measure the distance between the connection at the water tap and the DRINK outlet.
Cut a 1/4" PE tube to the correct length.
Connect PE tube at the DRINK outlet and to the push-fit connector.
6. Connect waste water outlet (DRAIN)
Connect 1/4” PE tube at the DRAIN outlet.
Measure the distance between the DRAIN outlet and the connection at the waste water drain.
Cut a PE tube to the correct length.
Route PE tube to the waste water drain and connect.
Secure PE tube appropriately to prevent loosening of the connection at the waste water drain.

7. Filter cartridge rinsing
ATTENTION
Before flushing insert all filter cartridges in the device (see chapter Filter cartridge installation)
NOTE
Before flushing, check the electrical connection!
Rinse filter cartridges before first use!
PP + activated carbon filter rinsing
Open the lever for purified water at the water tap.
To flush the cartridge, leave the water to run for 10 - 20 minutes until clear water flows out of the water tap.
Close the lever for purified water.
T33/activated carbon filter rinsing
Open the lever for drinking water at the water tap.
To flush the cartridge, leave the water to run for 10 - 20 minutes until clear water flows out of the water tap.
Close the lever for drinking water.
4.4.1 Initial commissioning
Upon first use, open the water tap and the inlet valve. If water now runs, re-close the water tap for 30 minutes.
During this time, check the system for leaks. If there are no leaks, the reverse osmosis system can be used nor-
mally.
During normal use, the device remains connected to mains power and water can be requested by opening and
closing the water tap.
However, if the device has not been used for a longer period, the filter cartridges must be flushed as described in
the chapter Water connection, step 7, before its renewed use.

5 Operation
When connecting to main power, the audible signal sounds once and the device enters flushing mode.
The device is equipped with a LED display. All information important for operation is output to the display as fol-
lows. See also chapter Overview, pos. 13 to 20.
Flushing (Rinse)
An automatic flush is triggered with each renewed connection to mains power.
If the device has not been used for 72 hours, flushing is automatically triggered.
During flushing, the booster pump, the water inlet valve and the waste water outlet are in operation. The flushing
process in indicated in the display by a line symbol and the information “Rinse”.
Pressing the “Select" key triggers manual flushing for 30 seconds.
Water filtering (Purify)
Once the water tap is open, the device starts filtering. When doing so, the booster pump and water inlet valve are
in operation. The filtering process in indicated in the display by a drop symbol and the information “Purify”.
Leakage
If there is a leak, the sign symbol is shown on the display and an alarm tone sounds for six seconds.
Once the leak has been rectified, the device can be restarted by plugging in the mains cable.
Fault
If filtering or flushing continues for a period 20 minutes, the fault symbol is shown in red on the display and an
alarm tone sounds for six seconds.
Once the fault has been rectified, the device can be restarted by plugging in the mains cable.
Service life of filter cartridges
The service life of the individual filter cartridges (RO, PPC, T33) is indicated on the display by a bar comprising
5 illuminated dots. With increasing operating time the number of illuminated dots decreases. Once the last illumi-
nated dot is reached, a 10-second alarm sounds. Thereafter, a further alarm tone sounds three time every half an
hour.

Filter cartridge replacement
To replace a filter cartridge, the “Reset" key must be pressed for three seconds during an alarm tone. The system
then enters replacement mode. Select the filter cartridge to be replaced by pressing the “Select" key. After selec-
tion of the filter cartridge, press the “Reset" key for three seconds until an audible signal sounds.
