Introduction
Just Add Power Ultra HD over IP 3G Receivers have built-in video wall scaling. In a Just Add Power distributed system, a
source can be viewed as a single screen and video wall at the same time.
A Standard Video Wall is one in which all Displays are the same size and orientation, and 100% of the video is shown
across all displays.
Once a Standard Video Wall has been setup, the layout can be changed to any other size inside the Standard Video Wall.

Requirements
•One Receiver per Display in the video wall
•A computer connected to the same network as the switch running Just Add Power devices
•WebUI access to the Just Add Power devices
oSet a Static Route on the router to allow Layer 3 communication
oAlternatively, set the computer’s IP details manually so the Default Gateway is equal to the IP Address of
the managed Ethernet switch running the Just Add Power system
Static Route to Just Add Power devices at 10.0.0.0 – IP of switch is 192.168.1.4
Wall Sizes
•Wall sizes up to 16 rows and 16 columns are possible through the web interface. If a wall larger than 16x16 is
needed, contact [e-mail] for assistance.

Content Scaling
Just Add Power Receivers create a video wall by scaling the video content to a size that matches the full wall. This means
that it does NOT take into account the aspect ratio or native resolution of the picture that it is sending.
16:9 Aspect Ratio
Most HD content has an Aspect Ratio – the relative size of the Screen Width compared to the Screen Height – of 16:9.
720p, 1080p, and 2160p resolutions all have 16:9 Aspect Ratio.
•1280 x 720 = (16 : 9) x 80
•1920 x 1080 = (16:9) x 120
•3840 x 2160 = (16:9) x 240
16:9 Aspect Ratio converts to 1.778 in decimal. This means that the content is 1.778 times wider than it is tall.
If the decimal value of an Aspect Ratio is higher than 1.778, the picture will distort to look fatter than usual.
If the decimal value of an Aspect Ratio is lower than 1.778, the picture will distort to look thinner than usual.
The closer the decimal value is to 1.778, the less distorted the picture will look.
When creating a Video Wall with the same number of rows and columns, the overall Video Wall will have the same
Aspect Ratio as a single display. The content will have the same proportions, so no additional picture scaling is needed to
ensure a quality picture.

Other Aspect Ratios
When creating a Video Wall with different number of Rows and Columns, or creating a Video Wall of Portrait-oriented
displays, the content will be stretched by the Video Wall process. 16:9 content will not appear normal.

Correcting for Distortion
To maintain 16:9 Aspect Ratio on other Aspect Ratio layouts, content must be specially designed before being sent to a
Transmitter. Content that has been compressed horizontally on a 16:9 Display will scale properly when shown at 32:9
across a 1x2 wall.

Rotated Displays
Just Add Power 3G Ultra HD over IP devices add the ability to rotate the video output clockwise at 90, 180, or 270
degrees. Paired with video wall, this gives the ability to make portrait and flipped video walls.
Portrait Wall
All Displays in the wall are rotated 90-degrees, either clockwise or counter-clockwise

Inverted-Top-Row Wall
Only possible for video walls with 2 rows. The top row of Displays in the wall are rotated 180-degrees and the bottom
row of Displays are not rotated. This layout works well when a Display has a top bezel that is smaller than the bottom
bezel.

Setup
1. Configure the switch and all Just Add Power devices.
2. Set the screens in the video wall to watch the same source.
3. Access the web interface of one of the Receivers in the video wall. All
configuration is done through a single webUI.
4. Select the Video Wall option.
5. Set the Number of Rows to equal the vertical count of Displays.
6. Set the Number of Columns to equal the horizontal count of Displays.
7. Set the Row Position to 1.
8. Set the Column Position to 1.

9. If the Display has no Bezel, or if the Bezel should be ignored, set all 4
values to 1.
10. To hide video behind the frame of the Displays, measure the width
and height of the Display frame, and the width and height of the
viewable portion of the Display. Any unit of measurement may be
used.
11. Convert the measurements to decimal, and then convert the decimals
to whole numbers by multiplying by a factor of 10. The webUI will
only accept whole numbers.
Example: OW: 44.13 OH: 25.5 VW: 43 VH: 24.25
Convert to: OW: 4413 OH: 2550 VW: 4300 VH: 2425
12. Enter the converted values in Outside Width, Outside Height, Video
Width, and Video Height.

13. Set the Clockwise Rotate to the rotation angle for the video on the
Display: 0, 90, 180, or 270.
14. In the Apply To dropdown, select the Receiver that is in the top-left
corner of the wall. This corresponds to Row Position 1 and Column
Position 1.
15. If unsure which Receiver is attached to the top-left Display,
click the OSD On button. Each display will show text with
the MAC address and IP address of the Receiver.

16. Click Apply. The Display will change to show the selected
portion of the video wall.
17. Setup the next Display in the wall by adjusting the Row
Position, Column Position, and Clockwise Rotate values,
then select that Receiver from the Apply To dropdown and
click Apply. The Display will change to show the selected
portion of the video wall.
18. Repeat Step 17 for each Receiver in the video wall.
19. Congratulations! Just Add Power Receivers are setup for a Standard Video Wall.
20. If the video does not look aligned and synchronized, check these settings outside the Just Add Power devices:
•Remove any zoom or scaling function that the Display may be performing. Set the Display to show 100%
of the video.
•Set the source to output a Progressive video format – 720p, 1080p, 2160p. Interlaced video formats
(1080i) are incompatible with Video Walls.
•Re-measure the Displays to confirm that Bezel Info is accurate.
