Introduction
Thank you for purchasing JustCom's two / four port (JC-
201ASU/401ASU) USB 2.0 Auto Switch. Incorporating fast
USB 2.0 technology (up to 480 Mbps), the Auto Switch allows
up to four computers (PCs & Macs) direct access to a single
USB (1.1/2.0) compliant device - such as a scanner, printer,
digital camera, or external HDD.
Compact with modern styling, the Auto Switch offers
convenient and easy-to-use switching software (Windows
users) that delivers immediate access to your USB device.
Once connected, your device stays available to all connected
computers, eliminating the need for you to unplug and
reconnect it to another computer.
JustCom's JC-201ASU/401ASU is backed by JustCom's
Three-Year Warranty and free technical support.

Cables
To connect to the Auto Switch, each computer requires a
USB device cable (A to B).The following Hi-Speed USB
Device Cables are recommended for use with JustCom's
(JC-201ASU/401ASU) Auto Switch.

Operating Systems
JustCom USB Switch has been tested and is fully
compatible with computers with the following OS installed :

Before you begin, make sure that :
1. The Auto Switch is not connected to your computers
2. The Auto Switch and your peripheral USB devices are supported by
your operating system.
To install the software
1. Insert JustCom's software CD in your PC.
2. Double-click on "My Computer".
3. Double-click on the CD-ROM drive.
4. Double-click on the file named "USBShare_Ctl.exe"
5. Setup will create a "USB Share_Ctl" icon on your taskbar.
6. To create the desktop shortcut drag the USB Share_Ctl.exe icon
from the installation CD onto your desktop.

Connecting the Auto Switch
1.Connect the A-type connector cable of your USB device to the A-type
USB port on the Auto Switch.
2.Install the drivers for your USB (1.1/2.0) device. Refer to the device's
user manual for additional information on installing the driver.
Connecting the Computers
1.Connect the USB cable's A-type connector to an available USB port
on your USB computer.
2.Connect the USB cable's B-type connector to any port on the Auto
Switch.
3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 for each additional USB computer (up to four)
you wish to connect.
Now JustCom's USB 2.0 Auto Switch is ready for use.

Operation - Software Switching for Windows Users

JustCom's Auto Switch provides Windows users with AOD (Access-On-
Demand) switching software. All computers stay connected with instant
access to your USB device at the click of a mouse.
AOD Legend
Green -the USB device is free for use (Ready status)
Yellow -the USB device is currently being used by your computer
Red - the USB device is currently being used by another computer or is
disabled
To access the USB device:
1. Double Click on the "USB Share Ctrl" desktop icon to open the
application
2. Make sure that the Auto Switch's Auto LED is selected. This can be
done by simply repeatedly pressing the manual port selector on the
front of the Auto Switch (see pg 5) until the Auto LED position is
selected. Or you can simply hold down the manual port selector for
roughly 3 seconds and it will jump to the Auto LED position.
3. Double Click on the "USB Share Ctrl" icon on your taskbar.
4.You are now able to use the connected USB device from your
computer.
Note: The Auto Switch is designed for use with a single USB
peripheral device. The use of multiple devices via a USB
hub is not recommended.

JustCom's (JC-201ASU/401ASU) provides Mac and PC users with a
fast and convenient switching solution. To manually access the
connected USB device:
1.Using the push button port selector located on the front panel of the
Auto Switch, switch to the desired USB port that corresponds to your
computer. A LED will light green to indicate the active port.
2.The LED will flash as you switch ports. Once the LED stops flashing,
the port is active.
3.You are now able to use the connected USB device from your
computer. Auto Switch Settings: Users of JustCom's Auto Switch are
able to customize settings.
Users of JustCom's Auto Switch are able to customize settings for the
following :
1. Idle Time-Out switching
2. Automatic Print Sharing
Idle Time-Out
The IdleTime-out function allows all users to set how long a connected
USB device is available for use by their computer once it has become
idle. For example, you can select that your USB device will be available
for use by other computers after an idle period of 60 seconds. After this,
the Auto Switch will automatically update the status of the USB Share
icon on your taskbar.

To setup, do the following :
1.Right click your taskbar's USB Share icon and select "Settings"
2.Enter a time out value in seconds
3.Click "OK" to exit
To assign a printer :
1.Right click your taskbar's USB icon and select "Settings"
2.Select an available printer from the printer list
3.Click "Choose"
4.Click "OK" to exit

Troubleshooting

The Auto Switch does not detect my computer
1.Check that the USB cable between the Auto Switch and the
computer is properly connected.
2.Make sure the connected device is not further than 15 feet away.
3.Check that the USB cable between the Auto Switch and the
computer is no longer than 15 feet.
4.Try connecting the computer to a different port.
5.Restart the computer and repeat installation
My USB peripheral device is not detected by the AOD
Switch software
1.Make sure the required drivers are installed and that the USB
device supports the operating system.
2.Make sure the connected computer is no further than 15 feet
away.
3.Make sure the connected USB device is no further than 15 feet
away.
4.Close the AOD software and re-open the application according to
the installation instructions.
The USB device is still being occupied by my computer
when my computer is shut down
1.Press and hold down the push button located on the front panel
of the Auto Switch for roughly 3 seconds, the switch will switch
away from the shut down computer into Auto mode.

FCC Certifications
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the
limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC
Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection
against harmful interference in a residential installation. This
equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy
and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions,

Limited Warranty
JUSTCOM offers limited warranty for its product only to the person or
entity who originally purchased the product from JUSTCOM or its
authorized reseller or distributor
Limited Hardware Warranty:
JUSTCOM warrants that the hardware portion of the JUSTCOM
products described below ( Hardware ) will be free from material defects
in workmanship and materials from the date of original retail purchase
of the Hardware, for the period set forth below applicable to the product
type ( Warranty Period ) if the Hardware is used and serviced in
accordance with applicable documentation; provided that a completed
Registration Card is returned to an Authorized JUSTCOM Service
Office within ninety ( 90 ) days after the date of original retail purchase
of the Hardware. If a completed Registration Card is not received by an
authorized JUSTCOM Service Office within such ninety ( 90 ) period,
then the Warranty Period shall be ninety ( 90 ) days from the date of
purchase

JUSTCOM's sole obligation shall be to repair or replace the defective
Hardware at no charge to the original owner. Such repair or
replacement will be rendered by JUSTCOM at an Authorized JUSTCOM
Service Office. The replacement Hardware need not be new or of an
identical make, model or part; JUSTCOM may in its discretion replace
the defective Hardware (or any part there of) with any reconditioned
product that JUSTCOM reasonably determines is substantially
equivalent (or superior) in all material respects to the defective
Hardware. The Warranty Period shall extend for an additional ninety
(90) days after any repaired or replaced Hardware is delivered. If a
material defect is incapable of correction, or if JUSTCOM determines in
its sole discretion that it is not practical to repair or replace the defective
Hardware, the price paid by the original purchaser for the defective
Hardware will be refunded by JUSTCOM upon return to JUSTCOM of
the defective Hardware.
All Hardware (or part thereof) that is replaced by JUSTCOM, or for
which the purchase price is refunded, shall become the property of
JUSTCOM upon replacement or refund.

Governing Law
This Limited Warranty shall be governed by the United States. Some
states do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the
foregoing limitation and exclusion may not apply. This limited warranty
provides specific legal rights and the product owner may also have
other rights which vary from state to state.
