GY-HM1 natively records in the file format used by Apple
QuickTime™ (for Final Cut Pro™)—the most popular NLE
system in the professional video market today—and the ISO
base media file format. The recorded files can be transferred
to most NLE systems seamlessly.
S HC Media Card recording with 2 card slots
GY-HM1 records files directly to widely available SDHC
media cards. SDHC memory cards are highly reliable yet
inexpensive—comparable to professional tape costs. GY-
HM1 has two card slots, allowing for more than six
hours(*2) of continuous recording.
35Mbps MPEG-2 (HQ) and 19Mbps/25Mbps SP Modes
GY-HM1 records 192 x1 8 HD video using the
MPEG-2 Long GOP codec at 35Mbps in HQ mode. This
provides long recording times for efficient media usage
without compromising picture quality. Additionally, GY-
HM1 records 72 p (19Mbps) and 1 8 i (25Mbps) in SP
mode.
Compact Hand-Held form factor
Weighing only 3.2 lbs., the GY-HM1 is the smallest and
lightest HD camcorder to offer true 35Mbps professional
performance. Its size and portability open up new
possibilities for high-quality HD recording applications,
while reducing the strain of hand-held operation.
Newly developed 1/4” progressive 3CC and 10x high-
quality lens developed by Fujinon
3 newly developed CCDs deliver razor sharp images with
superb color reproduction. JVC's proprietary 1 8 p digital
processor applies 5 advanced noise reduction technologies.
A 1 x Fujinon lens provides edge-to-edge sharpness, and
offers manual or auto focus, zoom and iris.
