The following warnings and instructions are to be observed at all times.
SECURITY
These installation and operating instructions are intended both for fitters and maintenance personnel as well as for design engineers who require
the pressure switch for an application. Please read the entire instruction manual carefully before commissioning and pay particular attention to the
alerts and notes explained below.
Safety instructions
Instructions for the safe use of the pressure switch:
•Do not exceed any of the stated limit values.
•Remove all packaging before installation.
•Extreme environmental influences such as high temperatures, humidity, dirt etc. must be avoided at all costs. These can lead to failure of the
pressure switch.
•Do not use any damaged installation elements and always ensure good fastening.
•Always make sure that all fixing screws are in place and connected tightly.
•The pressure switch must not be exposed to strong vibrations.
•The user must check whether the plug connection complies with the regulations for the stated degree of protection.
•Switch off the pressure medium during assembly or repair work on the pressure switch.
•Piston pressure switches are not suitable for gaseous media (oxygen, etc.). All safety regulations must be observed when using oxygen with
diaphragm pressure switches.
•The overpressure safety refers to static load. With dynamic load, the value is reduced by at least 25%.
•Always observe the safety and warning instructions during installation and commissioning.

FUNCTION
A Kant pressure switch type 602/652 has an integrated electric changeover switch. When pressure is applied, a diaphragm is deformed or a piston
is displaced via a lifting movement. The deformation or displacement is dependent on an adjustable spring preload. When the switching point is
reached, the diaphragm or piston has undergone a defined movement which actuates the switch and opens or closes an electrical circuit. Specific
pressure values can be monitored via the switching signal.

ASSEMBLY AND COMMISSIONING
➢Turn the pressure switch with its mounting thread (1) into the intended pressure connection (observe maximum tightening torque). Use a
suitable sealing ring for sealing.
➢With device connector 600/601:
Remove the device connector before adjusting the pressure switch.
➢Connect the electrical connections (2) to a continuity tester.
➢Completely screw in the adjusting screw (3) with low torque. Then unscrew the adjusting screw until the continuity tester reacts and set
the desired switching pressure. Never unscrew the adjusting screw completely.
When commissioning the pressure switch, please observe the relevant safety regulations of the employers' liability insurance association or the
relevant national regulations.
DISASSEMBLY
Observe the following instructions when removing the pressure switch:
•The pressure switch must be in a depressurized and de-energized state.
•Remove the pressure switch using suitable tools on the provided key surfaces or hexagonal profiles.
If other surfaces or unsuitable tools are used, damage may occur.
•Observe all relevant safety regulations.
