Turning it clockwise incre ses treble tone nd counter 

DUBBING (B ► A) — For dubbing from B t pe
deck to A.

OFF — This position silences ll spe kers for priv te

A+B — Activ tes simult neously two sets of spe ker

Plug stereo he dphones into this j ck for priv te
listening. The spe kers re silenced when the SPEAK 
ERS switch is set to OFF position.

® VOLUME control
The VOLUME control performs simult neous djust 
ment of volumes in both ch nnels (right nd left).
Set it to your own most s tisf ctory listening level.
® TAPE switches
MONITOR switch
Switch positions nd functions re s follows:
SOURCE — The source sign l is he rd.
A — For monitoring recording or for pl yb ck on
t pe deck connected to the TAPE A j cks.
Sound recorded on the t pe is he rd.
B — For monitoring recording or for pl yb ck on
t pe deck connected to the TAPE B j cks.
Sound recorded on the t pe is he rd.

DUBBING switch
Switch positions nd functions re s follows:
DUBBING (A ► B) — For dubbing from t pe deck
connected to the TAPE A j cks into t pe deck con 
nected to the TAPE B j cks.
@ POWER switch
ON — This position the mplifier turns on.
OFF — This position the mplifier turns off.

® INPUT SELECTOR switches
Switch positions nd functions re s follows:
PHONO — In this position the turnt ble is v il ble
if connected to the PHONO input j cks on the re r
p nel.
TUNER — In this position the tuner is v il ble if
connected to the TUNER input j cks on the re r
p nel.
AUX — Selects source connected to the AUX j cks.
® LOUDNESS switch & HIGH filter
LOUDNESS - The LOUDNESS switch boosts b ss
response to compens te for the hum n e r's l ck of
response to those frequencies t low volume levels.
This control should be switched off when listening
t norm l nd high levels.
HIGH FILTER - Setting this switch to on reduces
ny high frequency noise such s t pe hiss, record
scr tch, etc. Gener lly, this switch should be used
only when necess ry.

Notes:
A t pe deck c n be connected for pl yb ck s follows: left ch n 
nel output of the t pe deck to TAPE A "L" PLAY j ck, right ch nnel
output of the t pe deck to TAPE A "R" PLAY j ck.
If n ddition l t pe deck is used nd two t pe decks re oper ted
simult neously, the s me connections must be provided for TAPE B
j cks.
The AC outlets on the re r p nel of the mplifier m y be used to
supply power to other components, such s turnt ble, t pe deck, etc.
SWITCHED outlets
These outlets re controlled by the POWER switch on the front
p nel. (The tot l c p city is 100 w tts m ximum.)
UNSWITCHED outlet
This outlet delivers power t ll times. (The c p city is 200 w tts
m ximum.)
1. The AC OUTLETS re used for AUDIO units only. Units of the gre t c p city
should not be bsolutely connected.
2. Units shipped to the Europe n countries re not equipped with the AC OUTLETS.

A t pe deck c n be connected for recording s follows: left ch n 
nel input of the t pe deck to TAPE A "L" REC j ck, right ch nnel
input of the t pe deck to TAPE A "R" REC j ck.
If your t pe deck is equipped with DIN connector, connect it to
the "TAPE A" REC/PLAY connector with DIN connecting cord.
ADIN connector en bles recording nd pl yb ck with this single cord.
Note: When DIN cord is used for connecting to the t pe deck, the PLAY nd REC j cks
should not be used.
Sound c nnot be he rd when the SPEAKERS switch on the front
p nel is set to the A+B position nd only one p ir of spe ker system
is used with connections m de either to "A" spe ker termin ls or "B"
spe ker termin ls. When connecting the spe ker le ds to the spe ker
termin ls, m ke sure th t the b re wire str nds t the ends of the
spe ker le ds don't touch e ch other or dj cent termin l.
Use the TUNER termin ls for connection to n FM stereo or
AM-FM stereo tuner.
Connect the left ch nnel of the tuner to the "L" TUNER input
j ck nd the right ch nnel of the tuner to the "R" TUNER input j ck.
The two shielded udio c bles from your stereo turnt ble re
norm lly termin ted with phono plugs. Connect the left ch nnel of
the turnt ble to the "L" PHONO input j ck nd the right ch nnel to
the "R" PHONO input j ck.
If the turnt ble h s grounding wire, connect it to this mplifier's
GND termin l to void hum.
High level AUX input j cks re for miscell neous sources, such s
extr t pe decks, ddition l tuners nd/or receivers, TV sound outputs,
nd other extern l components.
SPEAKER CONNECTING AND SPEAKER SWITCH
In connecting only one set of spe kers, connect the right spe ker
to right spe ker termin ls nd left spe ker to left spe ker termin ls of
"A" spe ker termin ls. Should plus or minus of either right or left
ch nnel be reversely connected, sounds t the center section will be
dversely ffected by l ck of sep r tion. To connect ddition l set of
spe kers, connect right spe ker to right spe ker termin ls nd left
spe ker to left spe ker termin ls of "B" spe ker termin ls.

Connect the t pe deck to either the TAPE A j cks or TAPE B
j cks on the re r p nel.
If you use the mplifier with 3-he d type t pe decks, you c n
check the sound qu lity of the recording th t is being m de by momen 
t rily comp ring the recorded sign l with the source- sign l s follows:
Set the TAPE (MONITOR) switch to A (or B) to monitor the recorded
sound. Set the TAPE (MONITOR) switch to SOURCE to monitor the
source sign l before it is recorded.

WHEN RECORDING WITH TWO TAPE DECKS
Connect one t pe deck to TAPE A j cks nd the other to TAPE
B j cks on the re r p nel.

(A or B).
Adjust volume nd ton l qu lity.

To reproduce the output of the turnt ble th t is connected to
PHONO j cks, set the INPUT SELECTOR switch to PHONO.
Set the TAPE (DUBBING) switch, TAPE (MONITOR) switch to
SOURCE.
Adjust the VOLUME to the desired listening level.
Use the BASS, TREBLE, LOUDNESS controls to djust the sound
to your preference nd to the coustic conditions of your room.
Recording
Set the INPUT SELECTOR switch to the desired progr m source.
Set the TAPE (DUBBING) switch to source. To monitor the
recording, set the TAPE (MONITOR) switch to A or B, whichever
side the t pe deck is connected.
Recording level should be djusted with the volume control of
your t pe deck.
Recording is not ffected by the VOLUME, BASS, TREBLE,
LOUDNESS, etc., controls of the mplifier.
Recording
Set the INPUT SELECTOR switch to the desired progr m source.
Set the TAPE (MONITOR , DUBBING) switch to SOURCE.
Recordings c n now be m de into both t pe decks simult neously.
To monitor these recordings, use the TAPE (MONITOR) switch
s follows: Set it to A to monitor the recording being m de with
the t pe deck connected to TAPE A j cks. Set it to B to monitor
the recording being m de in the t pe deck connected to TAPE B
j cks.
Recording levels should be djusted ex ctly s described previ 
ously for single t pe deck oper tion.
T pe recordings m y be e sily duplic ted from one t pe deck to
nother with minim l loss of qu lity by setting the TAPE (DUBBING)
switch to (A ► B) or (B ► A) s follows:
The INPUT SELECTOR switch c n be t ny position.
Set the TAPE (DUBBING) switch to (A ► B) when it is desired
to copy recorded m teri l on the t pe deck A for re-recording on
the t pe deck B.
Set the TAPE (DUBBING) switch to (B ► A) when it is desired
to copy recording on the t pe deck B for re-recording on the
t pe deck A. The recording c n be monitored.

The KA-3500 oper tes on AC 110 ~T20 volts or AC 220 ~ 240
volts. The AC Volt ge Selector Switch on the re r p nel is set to the
volt ge th t prev ils in the re to which the mplifiers re shipped.
Before oper ting this mplifier, m ke sure th t the position of the AC
Volt ge Selector Switch m tches your line volt ge. If not, it must be
ch nged to the proper setting.
To ch nge, disconnect the AC line cord.

Connect the Tuner to the "PLAY" j cks of the TAPE A group
connector j cks on the re r p nel of this unit nd the T pe Deck
to the TAPE B group connectors.
Connect the Turnt ble to PHONO j cks on the re r p nel nd
set the INPUT SELECTOR switch to PHONO.
FM bro dc sts c n be recorded when the TAPE (DUBBING)
switch is then set to A ► B nd the T pe Deck is oper ted in
recording mode.
Disc record sound is reproduced when the TAPE (MONITOR)
switch is set to SOURCE.

set the INPUT SELECTOR switch to PHONO.
Set the TAPE (MONITOR) switch to A nd tune in FM bro d-
c sts
Set the TAPE (DUBBING) switch to SOURCE nd the T pe Deck
to recording mode. The sound from the disc record c n then be
recorded. _ nD .
The FM bro dc sts re reproduced when the TAPE (MONITOR)
switch is then set to A. When it is set to SOURCE, the sound of
the disc record will be reproduced. When it is set to B, the t pe
recorded sound of the disc record c n be monitored.
