Attention!
Product must be installed by a qualified electrician in UK, in compliance with BS 7671
(IEE Wiring Regulations) or local Regulations if outside of UK.
Any CPC (earth) conductor in the supply cable should be terminated in the back box
and NOT connected to the circuit board.

Function and Compatibility
This is a mains powered (230 vac) device for use with all Kidde hard wired smoke, heat
& CO alarms.
It is designed to control a single unit or an interlinked group of alarms and may be
connected at any part of the supply circuit where the interlink line is present.
It can be retrofitted into existing installations already equipped with Kidde alarms.
Test all interconnected Alarms
Hush unwanted alarms
Locate the initiating alarm in event of activation

Location
Ideally should be wall mounted at specified light switch height (eg to suit wheel chair
users), & is either recessed or surface mounted using any BESA standard single gang
mounting box.
These are available from all good electrical wholesalers.
Unit should be sited where the user can readily access the unit without exposing
themselves to undue risk in the event of a fire.
Escape routes and rooms leading to escape routes should provide a
safe and convenient location for both routine testing and emergency use.
Timer Set UD
Default setting is 15 minutes but you can choose which pre set time for Hush / Locate
facility is required, remove the jumper from the PCB to select 8 minutes, (times
approximate).
Connection - Isolate supply
Connections are to be made utilising 6243Y pvc/pvc insulated and sheathed cable,
minimum CSA 1.5mmz, (outside UK, use cables compliant with local Regulations).
Connect at the rear of any of the group of interlinked smoke\ heat alarms or at a suitable
junction box anywhere on the alarm circuit where there are line, neutral and interlink
conductors.
Connection is direct to the PCB, the terminal block is marked I (interlink), N (neutral) L
(line). Any CPC (earth) conductor must be made safe or terminated in the back box and
not connected to the PCB.
Fit switch plate to back box using M3.5 screws provided

Commissioning
General
Switch on AC supply.
Check for green mains healthy indicators on all smoke
l heat alarms and the AL-
TH.
Test all smoke alarms individually as per the user instructions.

Test Function Timed Re-set
Press the AL-TH Test Switch once
All interconnected alarms sound for 10 seconds and then silence automatically
Check LED changes from green to flashing red. Check all sounders are operating.
Sounders will re-set after 10 seconds
LED status returns to green

Test Function - Manual Re-set
Press and hold the Test Switch for 3 seconds, the alarms sound continuously.
Check ALTH LED changes from green to flashing red .
Check all sounders are operating.
Press AL-TH Test Switch to silence sounders.
AL-TH LED status returns to green.
Hush \Locate-Function -Timer Reset.
Initiate an alarm at one of the detectors utilising test button.
Note: this must be held in to simulate smoke l heat sensed for period of test
(assistance required).
While all alarms are sounding press Hush Button to initiate Locate Mode.
Alarms not sensing fire (test button held in) will silence for the pre-selected time
cycle (8 or 15 mins).
LED steady red indicating Locate Mode.
Note that the LED status changes to Green at the end of pre-set timed period.
Hush \ Locate Function - Manual Reset
Initiate alarm at one of the alarms by pressing test button.
Note this must be held in to simulate smoke/heat sensed for period of test
(assistance required).
While all alarms are sounding press the Hush Button to initiate Locate Mode
The LED steady red indicates Locate Mode.
Allow initiating smoke alarm to re-set.
Press Hush Button again to re-set interlink circuit.
LED returns to steady Green AC healthy indicator.
