Care and Maintenance
Like every technical product, the rollator requires regular inspection. Check
the unit frequently for signs of damage, breakage, cracks, fatigue, lost parts
and/or non functioning parts.
Check all nuts and bolts are present and secured. The locking pin must be
inserted correctly and only be removed by pressing the end button.
Remove dirt and grease from the castors and check that the brakes are
working effectively.
We recommend that a competent person who is familiar with the product
undertakes the regular checks and the rollator is removed from normal use
when it is clear it is not functioning correctly or safely.
Main fixing points to check:
Locking Pin mechanism:
Must lock in position when fully
inserted and release only when
end button is pushed:
Hinge Frame Clamps:
All bolts must be checked regularly
and must be tight at all times:
Front Castors:

Important Safety Advice
The correct use of the product requires the Carer to have carefully
read and understood these instructions and to have tried the
product first without a user.
The user must never be left unattended with the rollator.

The height of either model of rollator is not adjustable.

Whilst the rollator is being unfolded, the user must be kept away
from any hinged / moving parts.
Do not use this product if you suspect it is faulty or broken. Contact

Keep all objects or other people in the vicinity clear of the rear

User Instructions / Operation
The product is to be used as a walking aid for children up to the weight limit
of 35Kg. The rollator is designed for use with smaller children. The
suitability of the rollator for a particular child is to be determined by
individual risk assessment for each child by the therapist.
Only use on even, level surfaces and avoid slopes or uneven surfaces.
The child is to enter the rollator from the front, turn around so they are
facing forward and grip the rollator frame or handles at a comfortable
position.
When familiar with the rollator, ensure the front castors are ‘unlocked’ to
allow the rollator to move. The user is to walk forward at their own pace.
WARNING! Whilst using the rollator, it is essential that the child is balanced
and stood as upright as possible within the frame. If the child’s weight /
force is applied onto the rollator whilst the wheels are not locked, the rollator
will move forward at a potentially high speed, especially on smooth
surfaces, which could lead to the child falling over if they can not move their
legs quick enough.
Securing the Rollator
Front Castors
The front castors can swizel through 360 degrees and rotate forwards and
backwards.
The rollator can be made secure by operating the brakes on the front
castors. These castors can be supplied with ’novelty character’ designs, for
example the ‘Bear’ or ‘Aeroplane’:

To secure the rollator frame whilst in transit, please follow these steps to
secure the main and rear parts together to stop the possibility of trapping or
pinching.
Hold the tubes together in one hand and insert the pin through the two holes
in the rear hinge / clamp part.
Whilst pushing the locking pin in, ensure the other smaller fixed pin locates
into the smaller single hole in the clamp part around the main frame.
Secured folded rollator frame:

Rear Wheels
The rear wheels are fixed and uni-directional and will not allow the rollator to
roll backwards:
Rollator Orientation
The rollator will only move in a forward direction, or turn left or right when in
motion.

Handle Options
A variety of handle options are available to order
Option 1: ‘Doughnut’ Frame Hand Stops
These are intended to be used if the main frame is at a comfortable height
and width for the user and they want to grip / lean into the rollator, instead of
using any additional handles. These can be positioned at a comfortable
location for the individual user as determined by the therapist.
Please ensure the two bolts are fully tightened to eliminate any movement
whilst in use.
2 x M4 Bolts

The rear wheels prevent the rollator from rolling backwards, unless the rear
wheels are lifted off the floor.
Do not tip or lift the rollator wheels off the floor at any time when in use.
Locking Pin and Folding
The rollator can be folded for ease of transportation. The main and rear
tubes are connected with a hinged clamp component.
This must have the locking pin fully inserted as shown below before the
rollator is used. The pin must only be removed when transporting the
rollator.
To remove the locking pin, hold between fingers and pull whilst pushing in
the end button:
Locking Pin

The locking pin is captured with the use of a tie so it can not be lost /
misplaced. The rollator must not be used if this locking pin is missing.
Contact Kingkraft immediately.
