TROUBLESHOOTING
SOLUTONSPOSSIBLE CAUSES
UNIT DOES NOT START
Unit ma y have becom e unp lugged
Fuse may have blown
Circuit breaker may have bee n tripped
Unit ma y be off
Unit ma y be in a protection mode.
Ch eck tha t plug is plugged secure ly in wall receptacle.
Plug ha s a test/reset button on it.M ake sure that the plug has
not tripped.
Re place the fuse.See N ote 1.
Re set circuit breaker.See Note 1.
Turn u nit on (bottom right button on keypad).
Note:
UNIT NOT COOLING/HEATING ROOM
Unit air discharge section is blocked
Tem perature s etting is no t high or low
enough
Setpoint limits may not allow the
unit to heat or cool the room to the
temperature desired. Check section on
dipswitch settings.
Unit air filters are dirty.
Roo m is excessively hot or cold when
unit is started.
Vent door left open.
Unit ma y be in a protection mode.
Compressor is in time delay.
Note:
Make sure tha t curta ins,blin ds or furniture are not restricting or
blockin g unit airflow.
Re set to a low er or h igh er tem pera tu re settin g.
Re move and clean filters.
Allow sufficient amount of time for unit to heat or cool the room.Start
hea ting or coo ling ea rly before outdoo r temperature,cooking heat or
gatherings of peo ple make room uncomfortable.
Close ven t do or.
Ch eck dip switch setting s fo r de sire d com fort.
Wait appro xim ately 3 m inutes for c om pre sso r to start.
DISPLAY HAS STRANGE NUMBERS/
CHARACTERS ON IT
The unit may be in a protection mode.
The unit may be set for C (instea d of F).

UNIT MAKING NOISES
Clicking,gurging and whooshing noises are normal during operation
of unit.
WATER DRIPPING OUTSIDE
If a drain kit has not been installed,condensation runoff du ring ve ry
hot an d humid w eather is normal.See Note 2.If a drain kit has been
installed and is connected to a drain system,che ck gaskets and
fittings around drain for leaks and plugs.
WATER DRIPPING INSIDE
Wall sleeve is not installed level
Wall sleeve must be installed leve l for proper drainage of
condensation .C hec k that installation is level an d m ake any
necessary adjustme nts.
ICE OR FROST FORMS ON INDOOR
COIL
Low outdoo r temp erature
D irty filters
When outdoor te mperature is app roximately 55OF or below,frost
may form on the indoor coil when unit is in Cooling mode.Switch unit
to FAN operation until ice or frost melts.
Re move and clean filters.
COMPRESSOR PROTECTION
P ower m ay ha ve cy cled,so comp ressor
is in a restart protection.
Random Compressor restart-
Compressor Protection-
Whenever the unit is plugg ed in,or
power has been restarte d,a ran dom com pressor restart will occu r.
After a power outage ,th e compressor will restart after approximately
3 m inu tes.
To preve nt short cycling of the compressor,
there is a random startu p delay of 3 minutes and a minim um
com pressor run time of 3 m inu tes.
NOTES:
1.If circuit breaker is trippe d or fuse is blown mo re tha n once,contact a qualified electrician.
2.If unit is installed where condensation drainag e could drip in an undesirable location,an accessory drain kit
shou ld be installed and connected to drain system.
