Establishing Unit Weight for Programming Additional Coins or Tokens
Part 1: DETERMINING "UNIT WEIGHT" FOR COINS OR TOKENS
If you already know the weight of a single coin or token, in grams, then you can skip to Part 2.
1. Enter into the Weighing Mode of the scale. Press and hold both the "4" and "9" keys, and then press the "MC"
key.
2. If you are using a bag, bucket, or other type of container, place the empty container onto the scale platter. Wait
for the Stable indication. (a little arrow in the bottom right window will point to "Stable")
3. Press "T" (Tare) to zero out the weight of the container. (Perform only if a container is needed)
4. Place a large sample of pre-counted coins or tokens onto the scale platter, or into the empty container. Use as
many as possible, and make sure you know exactly how many you are using.
5. Write down the total weight displayed. (EXAMPLE: 2.259 for 400 pieces)
6. Multiply your total by 1,000 to convert to grams. (EXAMPLE: 2.259 x 1,000 = 2259)
7. Divide this number by the sample amount to get your Unit Weight. (EXAMPLE: 2259/400 = 5.647). Write
down the Unit Weight.
8. Repeat the procedure for any other coins or tokens you wish to use.
9. When you have written down all the Unit Weights you need, turn the scale off.
Part 2: INPUTTING UNIT WEIGHT FOR COINS OR TOKENS
1. Turn the Scale off, if it is on, and then remove any container or bucket.
2. Turn on the Scale and wait until the countdown is complete.
3. Press "Coin Cal", then press the "0" key 4 times, then "Coin Cal" again. These keys must be pressed within a
few seconds, or it will return to the counting mode automatically.
4. Select the key to be programmed. (the 0, 7, 8 and 9 are empty keys)
5. Press "Coin Cal", then input the new Unit Weight. (EXAMPLE: From the calculation above, you would press
"5" "6" "4" "7".) Press "Coin Cal" to Save.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any other Unit Weights you wish to enter.
7. Turn the Scale off, wait a few seconds, then turn the Scale on again. Wait for the countdown to complete.
8. Select one of the keys you just programmed and place a known amount of coins or tokens on the scale to test
the accuracy. Repeat with any other keys you may have programmed.
