he type of gas for which the device is adjusted is specified on the product label and nameplate.
1.2 CE Marki g
CE marking applied on this product guarantees that the equipment complies with the esential conditions stipulated
in the applicable European legislation:
- Directive regarding gas equipment 2009/142/CE (ex. 90/396/CEE)
- EcoDesign Directive 2009/125/EC
- Directive regarding energy efficiency 92/42/EEC and European Regulations no.811-814/2013
- Directive regarding electromagnetic compatibility 2004/108/EC (ex. 89/366/CEE)
- Directive for low frequency 2006/95/EC (ex. 73/23/EEC).
1.3 Use accordi g to desti atio
- Central heating boilers C38GC25, C38GC29, C38GC35 are designed following current technical standards and observing
recognized safety norms ;
- In case of misuse or inappropriate use, the health or life of users or third parties can be put in danger, as well as the central
heating BOILER and other goods;
- his equipment must not be used by people with limited psychological and sensitive capacities (including children), or by
people with no experience or/ and no knowledge;
- he BOILER provides both heating in closed circuit central heating installations, as well as hot water. Use for other purposes or for
additional purposes other than stipulated is considered inappropriate use. he manufacturer is not responsible for possible
damage resulting from inappropriate use. The user is the o ly o e respo sible;
- Compliance with the use and installation instructions, the additional documentation, as well as with the inspection and
maintenance stipulations is part of what is understood by use according to destination.

5 I stallatio

5.1 Co ditio s for the i stallatio of the ce tral heati g BOILER
5.1.1 I stallatio i dicatio
he central heating BOILER will be subject to corrosion from the moment it is filled with water!
o receive warranty during the entire warranty period it is essential to take into consideration the following directions in order
not to increase the corrosion!
- he burning gas must have the sulphur content within the limits of the applicable European standard: it is accepted for a
short period of time to have a maximum of 150 mg/m3, but the yearly average must be of 30 mg/m3.
- he burning air must not contain chlorine, ammonia, alkaline agents, halogenated hydrocarbs, freon, plaster particles, lints,
dirt or dust;
- Installation of the central heating BOILER in the proximity of a swimming pool, washing machine or cleaner can result in the
contamination of the burning air with these compounds.
- Water pH must be within the following limits: 7,5<pH<9,5
It is recomme ded to check the water a d thermal age t pH freque tly a d if the value does ot fall withi the limits provided
by the ma ufacturer, it will be treated agai .
- Water asperity must be within the limits 5°F < H <15°F (5°F (French degrees), equivalent to 50 mg CaCO
3
or an equivalent
quantity of other Ca and Mg salts).
- It is recommended to have repeated BOILER startup cycles with the fuel tap off in order to air the installation. he BOILER is
also provided with a manual ventilator, installed on the heat switch.
- If the central heating BOILER is not used for a long period of time during the cold season, full emptying of the installation is
recommended to prevent damage caused by freezing.
5.1.2 Protectio of the BOILER i order to keep the warra ty
Before and during installation, the central heating BOILER must be kept away from impurities: construction dust, sand, copper
dust, fats etc as well as welding splashes, scoria. In any of theses cases, the installation must be washed with clean water mixed
with a highly concentrated cleaning agent.
Genereally, i order to keep the warra ty it is ecessary to apply any neccesary treatment to prevent the contamination of
water with the following:
Black mud (magnetite - Fe3O4) formed as a result of the continuous electrolyte corrosion occurring in any installation
which is not protected with an inhibitor.
Red mud (rust - Fe2O3) produced during oxidation.
Calcarous deposits produced especially on the hottest areas of the central heating BOILER.
A combi atio of these three factors me tio ed above causes the majority of the problems occurri g with heati g systems.
Cautio !
The prese ce of these substa ces (black mud/ red mud/ calcarous deposits) mea s that the sta dard measures to
preve t problems of the heati g system were ot observed.
This is o e of the causes resulti g i losi g warra ty!
5.2 Gas co ecti g pipe

I stallatio of gas pipes is allowed to be performed o ly by a authorized age t. Duri g i stallatio all legal
stipulatio s, as well as the local regulatio s of gas distributio compa ies are to be observed.

Maximum safety pressure for the gas valve is 60 mbar! Goi g above this pressure limite may resul i damage.

Central heating BOILERs C13SPV36MEF, C14SPV25MEF function on GN natural gas. he gas connecting pipe is made of stainless
steel with an interior diameter of 12.4 mm. he gas input pipe must not have a diameter smaller than that of the gas connecting
pipe of the central heating BOILER. he fuel input must be done according to applicable legal stipulations.
5.3 Ge eral directio s for the heati g i stallatio
Whe desig i g the ce tral heati g system, please take i co sideratio the hydraulic characteristic of the pump that equips
this boiler model! See chapter 11.3 for pump characteristic.

he equipment is provided with a 7l capacity and 1 bar loading pressure expansion vessel. Before installing the equipment,
check whether this volume is sufficient. If not, an additional expansion vessel must be installed on the aspiration side of the
pump.

5.4 Ge eral directio s for the hot water circuit
Connect the central heating BOILER to the hot water installation.

The apparitio of pressure shocks (i put pressures higher tha 3-4 bars i additio to symoulta eously activati g

i stallatio of a pressure regulator adjusted to 3-4 bars!

5.5 Co ecti g pipe of the co de satio output duct

The co de satio output duct must ot be water-proof co ected to a used water pipe because otherwise the
i ter al co de satio seal box ca be emptied by aspiratio a d the bur i g gases ca get i side the room where
the ce tral heati g BOILER is i stalled.
he condensation resulting from the condensation of
water vapours contained by the burning gases is taken out
of the BOILER by means of the condensation output seal
box (fig.1.5), which is located in the lower part of the
central heating BOILER.
As this condensation is acid with a pH of approximately
3.8÷5.4, the output must be done by means of a plastic
tube (flexible) with an interior diameter of minimum Ø25
mm or larger, which is connected at one end to the hose
of the seal box and at the other to a sewage pipe.

Before commissioning the central heating BOILER approximately 1/2 liters of water must be introduced by means of the burning
gases output connecting pipe (fig. 1.4), to form a “water plug” inside the seal box – in this way we prevent burning gases to be
evicted in the room.
he route of condensation output must be continuously downwards (so as not to have areas of condensation stagnation,
especially in areas where there is the danger of freezing). he route of the condensation output must respect the applicable
norms regarding residual waters.
5.6 Co ecti g pipe of the safety valve

he connecting pipe of the pressing of the safety valve is connected to the drain pipe to the sewage system.
Otherwise, there is always the risk of flooding, for which the manufacturer of the central heating BOILER is not responsable.
5.7 Air i let pipe / bur t gases outlet pipe
he central heating BOILER does not require air plugs in the room where it is installed.
he air necessary for burning to ensure the efficient functioning of the central heating BOILER must to be taken from the outside
of the building.
he equipment is delivered with a co-xial or dual type air input/ burnt gases output system called an evacuation kit. he
equipment is delivered with a standard co-axial evacuation kit. On demand, a dual evacualtion kit can be delivered. It is also
possible to order additional 45° and 90° corners as well as 0.5m and 1m elongations for both the dual and the co-axial systems.

It is obligatory to place ce tral heati g BOILER i rooms with proper ve tilatio systems accordi g to applicable
orms. Study the tech ical i structio s before mou ti g/ i stallatio , commissio i g or mai te a ce or repair work.

5.8 Electric grid co ectio
he central heating BOILER must be connected to one-phase network of 230V - 50Hz with protection null.
Dispersion withstand of the earthing switch (earthing) must comply with applicable norms (maximum 4 ohm, and the working
null must not have residual current).
Electric powering of the central heating BOILER will be executed from a separate circuit provided with differential protection
fuses of 30 mA.
External connections must comply with applicable norms. Connection to the electric grid of the building must allow the entire
electric insulataion of the central heating BOILER for situations when interventions are required.
Grid connection is done taking into account the symbolism of colours as follows: Brow = phase, Blue = null, Gree a d Yellow =
earthing.
he current plug must be accessible so that the user can easily disconnect it.

8.9 Filli g a d emptyi g the heati g circuit

The followi g operatio s are executed to fill the i stallatio :
- install a flexible hose with interior diameter of 9mm
to the manual airifier - fig. 1.8 (with central heating
BOILERs without automatic airifier)
- ellectrically power the central heating BOILER;
- open the filling tap (fig. 1.6) of the central heating
BOILER and of the thermal/ house water installation;
- load the boiler with a pressure of about 0.4 bar,
indicated on the display;
- open the pump air vent;
- activate the boiler ventilation module to vent the
system: press the J5 (MENU / OK) key for activation
and the pump will start, the boiler is in the OFF
(Stand-by) state, to deactivate it press the J5 (MENU
/ OK) or by turning on the POWER button;

- Adjust the pump operation (5, 6 or 7m) depending on the installation (see chapters 8.3 and 11.3);
- continue to fill the system, with the ventilation function switched on up to 1.1-1.5 bar;
- check the tightness of the entire system. If there are losses, the problems must be remedied;
In the case of plants equipped with automatic ventilation: keep the pump on until noises are heard in the installation;
In the case of plants without automatic ventilators: manually operate the manual air vent to remove the air from the main
exchanger until noises are heard in the installation;
- heat the radiators;
- Make 2-3 cycles of 50-60 seconds of air-venting, following the steps described above;
- check the system pressure indicated on the display. If necessary, fill with thermal agent following the above steps.
- Remove the flexible hose.
If necessary, fill with thermal agent following the above steps.

6 Operatio i structio s
6.1 Co trol Pa el LMC1X for boiler types C38GC25, C38GC29, C38GC35
he LMC1X control panel (fig.1.9) equipes the boiler types C38GC25, C38GC29, C38GC35.
he LMC1X control panel (fig.1.9) allows the visualization and change of parameters defining the functioning of the central
heating BOILER. It consists of:
- 10 switches (J1÷J8, J10, J11) - tab.3;
- LCD display, where communication messages (graphic symbols) are displayed. he meaning of the 15 types of symbols is
presented in table 4.

6.2.1 Graphical co text - Display the E88 error
Whe power supply the boiler, o the co trol pa el, the "- -" welcome message will be displayed, followed immediately by the
boiler i put to the E88 ( ) error.
This will i dicate the eed commissio i g, by o e of the service compa ies authorized u der the laws i force a d approved
by us, KÖBER SRL. o do so, contact one of the partner companies within your home range listed on the list within the Warranty
Certificate.
For testing the boiler at pressure by the installer, pressure is displayed on the analog pressure gauge mounted under the boiler.
Removi g the boiler from the E88 error requires:
- breaking the boiler seal (self-destruct label on the left side / central cover).
For the guara tee, this operatio is o ly permitted by authorized a d approved perso el of KÖBER SRL.
6.2.2 Graphic co text – switchi g the boiler o co trol pa el LMC1X
At startup, the boiler is in an intermediate state for 5 seconds that is required to boot the system.
By the point of view of the interface with the user, there are two different modes of function, that depend of
the boiler`s status:
- in case that, before disconnecting the board from the network, the boiler was “ON”, then the symbol S1
(the high digits) will display the message “HELLO” (see figure 6.2.1);
- in case that, before disconnecting the board from the network, the boiler was “OFF”, then on symbol S1
(high digits) will not display anything (see figure 6.2.2).
6.2.3 LIGHT fu ctio co trol pa el LMC1X
LIGHT key ( J11 fig.6.1) It is used to enable / disable the backlight, except when starting the application
and display of errors.
6.2.4 Graphic co text - Sta d-by co trol pa el LMC1X
his context is associated with an inactive state / a waiting boiler. In standby status all actuators/state
elements are inactive and any request for combustion is ignored.
he exception to this rule: a tifreeze fu ctio (generated by a value system water temperature less than 9°C, which will initiate a
cycle of combustion heat to prevent freezing the thermic agent from the pipes.
Entry and exit from this mode by pressing the POWER key at least one second. he commutation between those two menus it
sets, the status of the boiler in OFF or ON. J6 – POWER key is active in every other menu to facilitate the forced off of the boiler in
case of abnormal function.
Possible actions:
- POWER – switching between ON/OFF;
- RESET – used to reset possible errors.
Figure 6.2.3 is an example of the display in standby state (heating boiler pressure 1.2 bar)
6.2.5 Graphic co text – o hold (ON) co trol pa el LMC1X
he on-hold state is associated with a state of operation of the boiler, but where no burning request appears. In this
condition/state, all actuators of the boiler are active and any burning request is accepted, if no error is present. In this state the
user can visualize all the information about the boiler and make the desired settings.
Possible actions:
- MENU/OK – activates the user menu;
- POWER – turns the boiler on/off;
- IN/SU – selects the operating way WIN ER/SUMMER;
- INFO - changes the information displayed by symbol S1 (pressure, heating temperature, DHW temperature);
- LIGHT – enables / disables the display backlight;
- RESET - used to reset errors.
