1.-FINAL TEST FOR PRODUCT SAFETY
At the completion of any repairs the product should be electrically tested for running and electric strength as follows.
I.- ELECTRIC TEST
1).-Set hi-pot test meter at 1500 volts.
2).-Product switch to ON-position.
3).-Touch one probe of tester to one blade of power cord plug and touch other probe to handle tube, there
should be no breakdown.
2.- OPERATINGTEST
Run the machine with the height adjustment knob on high and check:
1).-There should be no abnormal noise or vibration.

2).- The carbon brushes spark should be small and uniform.
3).- The current should not exceed 9.0 Amps. and 7.0 Amps.
Note: The letters with the item number, references, identify item number on internal (I) or external (E) illustration.
II.- REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES
1.- TO REMOVE BAG ( 30-E ), FIG. 1, 2
~1.1.- Release spring 32 - E from handle, turn knob on bag coupling ccw (25-E), slide coupling off unit.
2.- TO REMOVE HANDLE TUBE (7-E,10-E), FIG. 1,2
2.1.- Disengage line cord from line cord retainer (3-E) pulling cord outward from retainer bottom.
2.2.- Remove bolt and nut (8-E and 9-E) on handle socket (24-1) and pull tube out.

3.- TO REPLACE BELT(39-1), FIG. 3,4
3.1.- Place upright on hood so wheels face upward. Make sure to place on protected surface not to damage hood.
3.2.- Remove retaining bar (58-I) by pressing down on right side (longest), remove brush roll cover (57-I) and fan cover (37-1).
3.3.- Stretch and twist belt over motor pulley (15-M) to pull it out. (If not broken).
3.4.- Remove complete brush roll (52-I) with bearing supports (53-I) pulling it out near the bearings.
3.5.- Place new belt on roll, replace roll on chassis making sure the mark "top" on bearings support faces towards
the brush roll cover and reassemble.

4.- TO REPLACE BRUSH ROLL (52-I) OR BEARING SUPPORTS (53-I), FIG. 3, 4
4.1.- Follow steps indicated on point 3.1. to 3.4.
4.2.- Remove bearing support (53-I) pulling them away from brush roll (old or new).
4.3.- Place bearing supports on new brush roll, place belt over roll and replace it on chassis following steps 3.5
5.- TO REPLACE REAR WHEELS (16-1),FIG. 3,4
5.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
5.2.- Pull out retainer pin (19-1) from axle (8C-I), and slide wheels outward.
5.3.- Replace then new wheel and axle, and insert the pin.
5.4.- Replace hood.
6.- TO REPLACE FRONT WHEELS ( 42-1), FIG. 3, 4
6.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
6.2.- Remove screws (44-1) from front axle supports (45-1) and take out axle assembly.
6.3.- Remove cotter pin (43-1) and flat washer (59-I) and pull out wheel.
6.4.- Replace the new front wheel, washer and cotter pin.
6.5.- Replace axle assembly on chassis making sure springs (51 and 47-1) are in place.
6.6.- Replace hood.
7.- TO REMOVETHE HOOD (17-E), FIG. 1,2
7.1.- Remove bag and handle tube as in steps 1 and 2.
7.2.- Depress handle release pedal (31-1) and rotate socket (24-1) to horizontal position.
7.3.- Remove screw from height adjustment knob (11-E) and pull out knob (12-E).
7.4.-Place upright on hood so wheels face upward, make sure to place on protected surface not to damage hood'"
7.5.- Remove springs (18-E) from "v" tabs chassis, turn upright holding hood and s~parate hood from chassis.
8.- TO REPLACE MOTOR,(3-1), FIG. 3, 4 -
8.1.- Remove belts as in steps 3.1 to 3.3. .. """
8.2.- Remove hood as in step 7.
8.3.- Release air ducts (1-1 and 15-1) applying- ~ressure on both sides and slide out.. .
8.4.- Remove the four motor base screws' (4-1) disconnect switch leads and pull out motor.
9.- TO REPLACE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT CAM (13-1), FIG. 3, 4
9.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
9.2.- Slide cam assembly out.
9.3.- Replace new cam and reassemble.
10.-TO REPLACE HANDLE RELEASE PEDAL (31-1), FIG. 3,4
10.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
10.2.- Remove spring (32-I)frohfchassis.
10.3.- Pull pedal towards spring side and remove.

11.- TO REPLACE HANDLE SOCKET (24-1), FIG. 3, 4
11.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
11.2.- Remove handle release pedal as in step 10.
11.3.- Remove "C" washers (17-I) from socket bolt (18-1) pull out bolt and remove socket.
12.- TO REPLACE HANDLE POSITION CAM (27-1), FIG. 3, 4
12.1.- Remove handle socket as in step 11.
12.2.- Pull out "C" washer (30-1) and bolt (29-1) remove cam spring (28-1).
12.3.- When reassembling be sure spring (28-1) is located as before.
13.-TO REPLACE THE LINE CORD ( 2A-E ), FIG. 1, 2
13.1.- Disengage line cord from retainer in handle as in step (2.1).
13.2.- Remove hood as in step 7.
13.3.- Remove the nut (61-1), washer (62-1) and the ground lead.
13.4.- Disconnect the line cord from the motor.
13.5.- Remove Heyco strain relief (20-1) from chassis with Heyco, and slide it out of the line cord.
13.6.- Slide strain relief and hook an the new line cord, and reassemble with the Heyco pliers making sure to locate
the strain relief as it was before.
14.- TO REPLACE THE LIGHT BULB (6-1), FIG. 3
14.1.- Remove the hood as in step 7.
14.2.- Pullthe light bulb out with a gentle side to side rocking and replace with a new one.
15.- TO REPLACE THE ON - OFF SWITCH (12-M), FIG. 5
15.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
15.2.- Disconnect the electrical terminal from switch.
15.3.- Press the side tabs on the switch and pull it out.
15.4.- Press the new switch on the opening until the tabs snap, and reconnect the termi':1al.
16.-TO REPLACE THE SWITCH ACTUATOR (22-1),FIG. 3,4
16.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
16.2.- Remove "C" washer (25-1) from bolt (22-B) and slide out the actuator assembly.
16.3.- Replace the new actuator and assembly.
17.- TO REPLACE THE FA'N (14-M), FIG. 5
17.1.- Remove t~e'belt as in point 3.1, 2 and 3.
17.2.- Hold the fan (14-M) while turning loose the nut (15-M).
17.3.- Remove nut and fan.
17.4.- Replace the new fan and reassemble.
18.- MOTOR SERVICING, FIG. 5
The only posible motor repairs are: Replace carbon brushes. Replace armature.
Never try to repair the field or armature, if defective replacewith a new one.
Replace field.

11.- TO REPLACE HANDLE SOCKET (24-1), FIG. 3, 4
11.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
11.2.- Remove handle release pedal as in step 10.
11.3.- Remove "C" washers (17-1) from socket bolt (18-1) pull out bolt and remove socket.
12.- TO REPLACE HANDLE POSITION CAM (27-1), FIG. 3, 4
12.1.- Remove handle socket as in step 11.
12.2.- Pull out "C" washer (30-1) and bolt (29-1) remove cam spring (28-1).
12.3.- When reassembling be sure spring (28-1) is located as before.
13.-TO REPLACE THE LINE CORD (2A-E), FIG. 1,2
13.1.- Disengage line cord from retainer in handle as in step (2.1).
13.2.- Remove hood as in step 7.
13.3.~ Remove the nut (61-1), washer (62-1) and the ground lead.
13.4.- Disconnect the line cord from the motor.
13.5.- Remove Heyco strain relief (20-1) from chassis with Heyco, and slide it out of the line cord.
13.6.- Slide strain relief and hook an the new line cord, and reassemble with the Heyco pliers making sure to locate
the strain relief as it was before.
14.- TO REPLACE THE LIGHT BULB (6-1), FIG. 3
14.1.- Removethe hood as in step 7.
14.2.- Pull the light bulb out with a gentle side to side rocking and replace with a new one.
15.- TO REPLACE THE ON - OFF SWITCH (12-M), FIG. 5
15.1.- Remove hood as in step 7.
15.2.- Disconnect the electrical terminal from switch.
15.3.- Press the side tabs on the switch and pull it out.
15.4.- Press the new switch on the opening until the tabs snap, and reconnect the terminal.

18.- MOTOR SERVICING, FIG. 5
The only posible motor repairs are: Replace carbon brushes. Replace armature.

19.- TO'REPLACE THE DUSTCUP (ONLYDCSERIES), FIG. 6
19.1.- Place handle in upright position and unhook spring (1), shake bag (3) to release dirt accumulated in bag.
19.2.- Release the two latches by pulling them outward.
19.3.- Remove cup and replace it.
TO DISA~SEMBLE THE MOTOR, FIG. 5
1.- Remove motor as in point 8.
2.- Hold the fan (14-m) while turning loose nut ( 15-m) and remove nut and fan.
3.- Remove the electrical connection to carbon brushes pulling them out of the terminals.
4.- Remove the brush holders support screws ( 5-m ) and take out the brush holder assembly (3-m), if the carbon brush is
worn out replace the complete assembly (3-m).
5.- Remove the four motor cover screws (2-m) and lift the motor cover (1-m).
6.- Remove field and armature and replace as required.
7.- Reassemble in reverse order making sure the field spring (10-m), the ground washer (16-m) and ground lead
are in correct position.

1.-PRUEBA FINAL DE LA REPARACION
AI final de cualquier reparaci6n el producto debe ser sometido a pruebas de
funcionamiento y eh!ctricas como sigue:
1.-PRUEBA ELECTRICA
A).-Colocar el medidor de Hi-Pot en 1500 v
B).-Poner el switch de encendido en posici6n "ON"
CkTocar con una de las puntas de Prueba una de las hojas de la clavija y al mismo tiempo poner la otra punta de Prueba
en el tubo Manija. No debe haber sonido de advertencia.

2~- FuNCIONAMIENTO
/'
A).- No debe haber ruido 0 vibraci6n anormal.
B).- Las chispas de los carbones del motor deben ser pequenas y uniformes.
C).- La corriente no debe de exceder de 9.0 Amp. y 7.0 Amp.
Nota: Los numeros de referencia con una letra significan (I) Partes Internas (E) Partes Externas (M) Partes del Motor.
11.-PROCEDIMIENTO DE REEMPLAZO
1.- REEMPLAZO DE LA BOLSA (30-E), FIG. 1 Y 2
.
1.1.- Quitar el clip (32-E) del Retem del cord6n y girar la perilla soporte de la bolsa (25-E) y cambiar la bolsa.

2.- REEMPLAZAR EL TUBO MANIJA (7-E Y10-E), FIG. 1 Y 2
2.1.- Sacar el cable de linea del reten (3-E) jalando hacia afuera.
2.2.- Remover tuerca y tornillo (8-E y 9-E) Y sacar el tub').

3.- REEMPLAZO DE LA BANDA (39-1),FIG. 3 Y 4
3.1.- Voltear hacia arriba la barredora.
3.2.- Remover el retE'mde plato (58-I) presionando dellado derecho, remover el plato con sello (57-I)
y la cubierta del ventilador (37-1).
3.3.- Jalar y torcer la banda sobre la polea para poder retirarla.
3.4.- Quitar el rodillo (52-I) con sus soportes (53-I) jalando de las orillas.
3.5.- Colocar la nueva banda en el rodillo, colocar el rodillo en el chasis y colocar la banda en la polea, volviendo
a ensamblar las cubiertas.
4.- REEMPLAZO DEL RODILLO (52-I) 0 LOS SOPORTES (53-I), FIG. 3 Y 4
4.1.- Siga los pasos indicados en los puntos 3.1 al 3.4.
4.2.- Quite los soportes jalandolos hacia afuera del rodillo.
4.3.- Coloque los nuevos soportes en el rodillo y siga como en el punta 3.5.
5.- REEMPLAZO DE LAS RUEDAS TRASERAS (16-1), FIG. 3 Y 4
5.1.- Remover la cubierta (17-E) como en el paso 7.
5.2.- Quitar el candado (19-1) del eje de la rueda (8 C-I) y sacar las ruedas.
5.3.- Reemplace la nueva rueda e inserte el candado en el eje.
5.4.- Coloque la cubierta.
6.- REEMPLAZO DE LAS RUEDAS FRONTALES.(42-1),FIG. 3 Y 4
6.1.- Remover la cubierta como en el paso 7.
6.2.- Remover los tomillos (44-1) de los soportes del eje (45-1).1
6.3.- Quitar el eje con las ruedas, quitar los seguros (43-1) y las rondanas (59-I).
6.4.- Reemplace las nuevas ruedas y coloque las rondanas y los seguros.
6.5.- Vuelva a colocarel eje en los soportes asegurandose que los resortes (51-1 y 47-1) queden en su lugar.
6.6.- Coloque !a cubierta.
7.- REMOVER LA CUBIERTA (17-E), FIG. 1 Y 2
7.1.- Quitar la bolsa y los tubos manija siguiendo los pasos 1 y 2.
7.2.- Presionar el pedal (31-1) girar el socket (24-1) a su posicion horizontal.
7.3.- Quitar el tomillo de la perilla de ajuste de altura (11-E) y quitar la perilla (12-E).
7.4.- Colocar la barredora con las rued as hacia arriba cuidando de proteger la cubierta para que no se raye.
7.5.- Quitar los resortes (18-E) voltear la barredora y separar la cubierta.
8.- REEMPLAZO DEL MOTOR (3-1),FIG. 3 Y 4
8.1.- Quitar la banda siguiendo los pasos 3.1. al 3.3
8.2.- Quitar la cubierta como en el paso 7.
8.3.- Quitar los ductos de aire (1-1 y15-1) aplicando presion en amQos lados.
8.4.- Quitar los cuatro tomillos de la base del motor (4-1) desconectar los cables del switch y remover el motor.

9.- REEMPLAZO DE LA LEVA DE CONTROL DE ALTURA (13-1)" FIG. 3 Y 4
9.1.- Quitar la cubiertacomo en el paso 7.
9.2.- Quitar la leva.
9.3.- Reemplazar la nueva leva.
10.- REEMPLAZO DEL PEDAL DE LlBERACION DEL MANGO (31-1),FIG. 3 Y 4
10.1.- Remover la cubierta como en el paso 7~
10.2.- Quitar resorte (32-1) del chasis.
10.3.- Jalar el pedal y quitarlo.

11.- REEMPLAZO DEL YUGO (24-1), FIG. 3 Y 4
11.1.- Quitar cubierta como en el paso 7.
11.2.- Quitar el pedal como en el paso 10.
11.3.- Quitar las rondanas candado (17-1) del eje del yugo (18-1) sacar el eje y remover el yugo.
12.- REEMPLAZO DE LA LEVA DEL CONTROL DE POSICION (27-1),FIG. 3 Y 4
12.1.- Quitar el yugo como en el paso 11.
12.2.- Quitar la rondana candado (30-1) y el eje (29-1) quitar el resorte de la leva (28-1)
12.3.- Cuando reensamble tenga cuidado de colocar el resorte (28-1) como estaba originalmente.

13.1.- Sacar el cord6n de su retem como en el paso 2.1.
13.2.- Siga los pasos indicados en el punto 7.
13.3.- Quite la tuerca (61-1) rondana (62-1) y quite el cable de tierra verde.
13.4.- Desconecte las dos puntas del cable de linea.
13.5.- Con unas pinzas Heyco quite el Gromet (20-1)
13.6.- Reet'nplaceel nuevo cable de linea, colocando el gromet a la misma distancia y conecte como estaba inicialmente.
14.- REEMPLAZO DE LA MOLDURA FRONTAL (41-1), FIG. 4
14.1.- Remueva los tornillos (33-1), las dos rondanas planas (34-1) las cuatro rondanas estrella (35-1), las cuatro tuercas (36-1)
y las dos placa reten (68-1)
14.2.- Remueva y reemplace la moldura.
14.- REEMPLAZO DE LA MOLDURA FRONTAL (41-1), FIG. 3
14.1.- Remueva los tornillos (33-1), las dos rondanasplanas (34-1) las rondanas estrella (35-1), asi como las ods tuercas (36-1)
14.2.- Remueva y reemplace la moldura.
