CAUTION
This product is designed to control flows and can be used at a pressure and temperature
up to:
Max. operating pressure:0.6 MPa(G)
Max. operating temperature:80 ℃
The use of the needle valve with gases or toxic gases other than those specified on the
valve body or at a pressure exceeding the maximum allowable pressure may cause
serious injury. Such a way of use is strictly prohibited.
Foreword
Thank you for your selection of Model 2420.
Prior to using your new needle valve, please read this manual thoroughly to ensure the
valve will operate to its maximum performance.
・The contents of the manual are subject to change without prior notice.
・The manual has been carefully created and checked before shipment. If you notice
any deficiencies, errors or omissions, however, please inform us.
・The warranty period of the needle valve is one year from the date of shipment from
our plant.
・Any failures which may occur during this period and are attributable to our
workmanship will be corrected free of charge.
・KOFLOC shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for breakage or troubles of
equipment resulting from neglect of the precautions presented in this manual or use
of the needle valve in manners not described herein.

1. Features
Model 2420 is a rotary needle valve that can easily adjust the opening and closing
operation of gas or liquid.
A feature of MODEL 2420 is that it is a greaseless needle valve.
2. Installation and Piping
For installation on a panel, remove one mounting nut and insert the needle valve
through the mounting hole (15) from the backside of the panel to the face and then
secure the valve with the nut from the face of the panel.
The knob is for exclusive use of this Model 2420, and it is an insertion type.
In case the knob is slightly hard when pulling out the knob, turn the needle fully
open to make it easier to pull out. (At the time of shipment, the knob is set at a
position where it can be easily pulled out, about 2 times back from fully open side.)
When attaching the knob to the shaft, align the knob protrusion with the flat end of
the shaft and insert as shown below.
3. How to use
3-1 Control of Flow
Turn the knob of the needle valve to control the flow. Turning it counterclockwise
(OPEN) will increase the flow and clockwise (CLOSE) will decrease the flow.
3-2 Precautions
1) When storing the needle valve at your premises, installing it in a line, removing it
from a line or test running it for adjustment after installing it in a line, exercise
care to protect its IN and OUT from oily substances and contaminants. They are
a cause of performance degradation or control failure.
2) Zero stop of Model 2420 is not a function guaranteed.
Never turn the knob by undue force to effect zero stop.
Otherwise, the needle part will be broken to disable flow control. If zero stop is
required, be sure to install a stop valve before the needle valve.

3) Model 2420 is equipped with a packing for fixing the shaft to the needle shaft. In
order to maintain this shaft anti-shake function, do not forcibly rotate in the
opening direction beyond the contact position when the valve is fully opened.
4) Practical evaluation is recommended for low flow rate.
Model 2412 series is most suitable for high precision flow rate adjustment.
Please be careful when the reference flow rate is as follows;
Gas: 1L/min or less, Liquid: 50mL/min or less
5) If you turning the hexagon nuts of the inlet-side connection counterclockwise
strongly, the fitting screw of the hexagon nuts will loosen from the main body
block, and it may cause external leakage.
Your attention is required when removing the installed joints. Please fix this
hexagon nuts with a wrench and be careful not to apply a load to the body when
removing the joint.
Should the needle part is loosen, tighten it to the body with a torque of 4 N·m.
6) This product is assembled with oil-free specifications without using any greases.
However, it is not a particle-free product because it is not assembled in a clean
room. Therefore, when using the product with strict prevention of contamination,
such as at food production lines, we recommend that you clean and purge the
inside of this product before installation.
No grease or lubricating oil is used for the rotating screw also. Therefore, if the
rotation is repeated continuously, heat is generated in the screw part, and the
rotation gradually becomes harder. If the rotation is continued, the screw part
may seize and the flow rate may not be adjusted. There is no problem with minute
adjustment, but please note that continuous use of large rotations is not
recommended.
If you change the purge setting repeatedly, such as flow closed, flow control or full
open, please select MODEL2412 or MODEL2400.

【Dimentions】
[Needle No. Identification]
Needle numbers N1 to N5 of this product can be identified in two places on the
main unit.
See the photo 1. The second number from the right of the lot number label
attached to the product is the needle number.
The number of dots machined on the flat surface of the shaft under the knob
indicates the needle number. As shown in the photo 2, 2 dots are N2 (left side),
3 dots are N3 (right side), and N5 (not shown in the photo) has 5 dots.

4.Regarding repairs / defects
If there is a defect due to our company within one year after shipment from us, this
product will be replaced with a new one when you return the defected product. In
addition, this product is basically non-repairable products. We are sorry, but in
principle, please purchase a new one. Please note that this is because it cannot be
disassembled due to structural viewpoint.
5.Product Warranty Policy
Thank you for your continued support of KOFLOC products.
Unless specified otherwise in quotations, contracts or specifications when you place
orders for KOFLOC products, the following warranty policy will apply.
Warranty Policy:
①Warranty period
The warranty period is one (1) year from shipment, provided that the product is
used within the KOFLOC specification.
②Scope of warranty
If the KOFLOC product fails during the warranty period due to a cause
attributable to KOFLOC, KOFLOC shall, at its option and expense, provide a
replacement product or repair the failed product at the KOFLOC factory.
This warranty, however, shall not cover damages due to a cause not
attributable to KOFLOC; opportunity loss, lost profit, secondary disaster,
accident compensation suffered by the customer and damage to other
equipment and any other damages due to a failure of the KOFLOC product.
③Non-warranty
The warranty shall not apply to the following failures and damages even if they
occur during the warranty period:
a) Failure due to misuse or improper repair or modification. (Failures
resulting from use under conditions different from the manufacturing
specifications are included.)
b) Damage and failure due to dropping of the product after purchase.
c) Failure due to fire, earthquake, flood, lightning or other natural disaster; or
riot, war or the like.
d) Failure due to intrusion of foreign matter from piping.

e) Failure caused by a specific problem due to combination with other
incorporated equipment.
f) Other failures and damages which are considered not attributable to
KOFLOC.
Please be aware that the warranty shall not cover opportunity loss suffered
by you or your customer or damage to other equipment or any other damages
due to a failure of the KOFLOC product.
