Before You Begin
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product damage. Cast
iron sinks are very heavy. Get help lifting the sink into place.
IMPORTANT! Failure to follow these precautions may result in
poor installation.
Read these instructions carefully before you begin this
installation.
Observe all local, electrical, plumbing, and building codes.
Prior to installation, unpack the new sink and inspect it for
damage. Record the model number and serial number in the
Homeowners Guide. Return the sink to its protective carton until
you are ready to install it.
This sink is not intended for undercounter installation.
Inspect the drain and supply tubing. Replace if necessary.
If possible, assemble the faucet and strainer to the sink before
installing the sink.
Due to the variety of installations possible with this sink, you
may need to use procedures other than those described. Because
of the variety of tiles available, you must take careful
measurements prior to installation.
It is very important that the proper materials are used with your
sink. Proper selection of tile is critical for a secure installation.
3/8″(1 cm) tile is recommended. Because of the variance in tile
thickness, your carpenter, tiler, and plumber must be aware of the
exact type of tile you choose.
After selecting the tile, provide a sample to each contractor
involved in the project. It is very important that the carpenter,
tiler, and plumber maintain communication and discuss the
requirements of the project.
To ensure a safe and damage-free installation, two people should
install the sink.
To reduce the chance of water backflow into the cooking vessel,
do not install a garbage disposal to the cooking vessel.

Before You Begin (cont.)
You must connect the sink strainer to a separate trap assembly to
reduce the chance of water backflow into the cooking vessel and
improve drainage.
This sink includes accessories and a Homeowners Guide. Leave
these items for the homeowner.
For a replacement installation, make sure the existing cutout is
the same size or smaller than the cutout for the new sink.

1. Provide Electrical Service
CAUTION: Risk of electrical shock. Disconnect the power
before proceeding. Refer to the ″Important Safety Instructions″
section.
A Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) is recommended for
this circuit.
Local electrical codes may require that electrical work be
performed by a licensed electrician. Follow all local electrical
codes.
Refer to the roughing-in information to determine the proper
circuit location.
The sink controls and system have been prewired at the factory.
Only minor electrical connections are required during installation.
The power wiring and terminal box must be provided by the
customer.
Provide a dedicated 120 V, 15 A, 60 Hz two-wire with ground
circuit for the cook sink.
Install a junction box in the cabinet in the vicinity of the cook
sink’s location. Locate the junction box away from any water or
drain piping.
Pull wires from the circuit breaker panel board through the
junction box to the cook sink area.
Terminate the wires at the circuit breaker.
Do not apply power until directed to do so.
In the cabinet, route and support the cook sink power wiring to
protect the wires from contact with any items that may be stored
in the cabinet. Flexible watertight conduit is recommended.

2. Preparation
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product damage. Cast
iron sinks are very heavy. Get help lifting the sink.
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Use care to avoid
damaging the cooking vessel components when you lift the sink
into place.
Install the rough water supply and drain piping according to the
roughing-in information.
Ensure that the desired sink location has adequate clearance to
the backsplash, faucet, sink, and cabinet.
Position the template on the countertop and trace it with a pencil.
Cut out the opening by carefully following the pencil line traced
from the template.
Install the faucet to the sink according to the faucet
manufacturer’s instructions.
Measure and compare the thickness of the sink rim and the tile.
NOTE: The sink rim thickness is 3/8″(1 cm) plus or minus 1/32″(1
mm).
Because of the varying thickness of the tile and sink, or if you use
an adhesive or mortar bed, make allowances to shim the sink or
route the underlayment as needed.

The sink is designed to be installed flush or slightly lower than
the surrounding tile. Provide shims, or route the underlayment,
as needed.

3. Install the Sink
Clean the countertop, and carefully position the sink in the
countertop opening.
Fit the control area into the countertop first to prevent damage.
Position the sink in the countertop opening.
Verify the fit and position. Make any adjustments needed.
Tile and grout to allow an acceptable space between the tile and
grout.
To absorb vibration from a garbage disposal, apply sealant
between the sink and tile adjacent to the sink rim. This will
prevent the grout around the sink from cracking.
Allow the sealant to cure at least 30 minutes before proceeding.

4. Connect the Wiring
NOTE: A licensed electrician should hard wire the sink to the 120 V,
15 A, 60 Hz dedicated circuit that was installed according to the
roughing-in details.
Remove the cover from the junction box.
Connect the power and ground wiring to the junction box in
accordance with local code requirements.
Use the two screws to replace the cover on the junction box.
Leave the power turned off at this time.
5. Connect the Plumbing
Install the sink strainer body to the cook center basin according to
the manufacturer’s instructions.
If used, install the garbage disposal to the cook center basin drain
according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Install the cook center basin drain to the dedicated trap according
to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Connect the faucet supply lines and complete the cook center
faucet installation as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Connect the cook sink drain to the second trap according to the
manufacturer’s instructions. Do not install a garbage disposal on
the cook sink drain.

6. Install the Control Knob
Align the drain control knob to the drain control shaft on the
controller.
Press the drain control knob on the shaft.
Check that the drain control knob will rotate about 3/4 turn in
each direction.
Press the temperature control knob onto the temperature control
stem.
Align the dots on the control knobs with the dots on the bezel.
Press down on the temperature control knob and turn it to the
“Off” position.

7. Operation
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Never operate the cook
sink without water in the vessel.
Confirm Cook Sink Operation
Ensure that the cook center basin drain does not leak.
Remove the adhesive label from the cooking vessel strainer.
NOTE: Carefully study your Homeowners Guide before operating
your cook center.
Make sure the sink controls are in the “Off″position, and turn on
the power to the sink.
Turn on the water supplies to the faucet, and run water into both
sink basins.
Fill the cooking vessel half full. Inspect all the connections for
leakage.
Press and turn the drain control knob several times to make sure
the water drains properly.
Inspect the cooking vessel drain connections for leakage.
Fill the cooking vessel half full of water again.
Press and turn the temperature control knob.
Verify that the water warms up within 10 to 15 minutes.

NOTE: The red indicator light should be lit when the cooking vessel
is on.
The amber indicator light should turn on when the cooking vessel
heats up.
Turn off the temperature control, and drain the water
immediately.
The red indicator light should turn off.
The amber light should remain lit until the cooking vessel cools
down to a safe temperature.
Confirm Cook Center Operation
Remove the aerator from the installed faucet according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Turn on the hot and cold water supplies.
Check for and repair any leaks in the supply lines.
Operate the faucet according to the manufacturer’s instructions in
order to flush the supply lines of any debris.
Check for and repair any leaks in the drain lines.
If installed, check operation of the garbage disposal according to
the manufacturer’s instructions.
Turn off the water.
Install the aerator.
8. Clean Up
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Do not use abrasives on
this product. Abrasive materials can scratch and ruin the surface
finish.
NOTE: Refer to your Homeowners Guide for detailed cleaning
instructions and recommended cleaners.
Remove any construction materials or debris.
Clean the sink with a non-abrasive cleaner.

NOTE: This troubleshooting guide is for general aid only. For
warranty service, contact your dealer or wholesale distributor.

close the drain.
B. If the cook sink still does not hold water,
ensure that the drain cable is connected at
both ends and operates freely as described
in the installation guide.

Authorized Service Representative.
2. Water drains
slowly from sink
or does not drain.
A. The drain or trap is probably plugged.
Clean out the drain or trap.
B. If the problem persists, contact a Kohler
Authorized Service Representative.
3. Water leaks from
under sink. A. Check if the drain or trap connections are loose or damaged. If necessary, tighten or
replace the connections.
B. If the problem persists, contact your local
plumber.
4. The cook sink does
not heat water and
no display
indications are
present.
A. Check that the specified power is supplied
to the cook sink. Close any tripped circuit
breaker.
B. If the circuit breaker opens again, contact
your local electrician.
C. If you do not feel comfortable checking for
power at the cook sink control box, contact
your local electrician.
D. If power is present at the controller,
contact a Kohler Authorized Service
Representative.
5. The cook sink does
not heat water and
normal display
indications are
present.
A. Check that the specified power is supplied
to the cook sink. Close any tripped circuit
breaker.

Si possible, assembler le robinet et la crépine à l’évier avant de
poser l’évier.
Étant donné le nombre d’installations possibles pour ce type
d’évier, des procédures autres que celles décrites peuvent être
nécessaires. Étant donné la variété de carreaux disponibles,
prendre les mesures nécessaires avec précaution avant
l’installation.
Il est très important d’utiliser les matériaux appropriés avec
l’évier. La bonne sélection des carreaux est essentielle pour
assurer une installation correcte. Un carreau de 3/8″(1 cm) est
recommandé. À cause des diverses épaisseurs des carreaux, les
plombiers, carreleurs et charpentier doivent connaître le type
exact des carreaux utilisés.
Après avoir sélectionné le carreau, fournir un échantillon aux
différents corps de métiers participant au projet. Il est très
important que vos charpentier, carreleur et plombier soient en
constante communication et qu’ils discutent des exigences de
l’installation.
Pour assurer une installation en toute sécurité et sans dommage,
deux personnes doivent installer l’évier.
Ne pas installer de broyeur dans la cuve de cuisson pour réduire
le risque de refoulement d’eau dans la cuve de cuisson.
Raccorder la crépine de l’évier à un siphon séparé pour réduire le
risque de refoulement d’eau dans la cuve de cuisson et pour
améliorer l’évacuation.
Cet évier est accompagné d’accessoires et d’un Guide du
propriétaire. Laisser ces articles à la disposition du propriétaire.
Pour remplacer un évier, s’assurer que la taille de la découpe
existante est égale ou inférieure à celle requise pour le nouvel
évier.

1. Branchement Électrique
ATTENTION : Risque de choc électrique. Débrancher
l’alimentation avant de commencer. Se reporter à la section
″Instructions de sécurité importantes″.
Un disjoncteur différentiel (GFCI) est conseillé pour ce circuit.
Les codes électriques peuvent nécessiter que le travail électrique
soit effectué par un électricien agréé. Suivre tous les codes
électriques locaux.
Consulter le plan de raccordement pour choisir l’emplacement du
circuit.
Les commandes d’évier et de système ont été pré-câblées en
usine. Seules des connexions électriques mineures sont requises
durant l’installation. Le câblage d’alimentation et la boîte à bornes
doivent être fournis par le client.
Fournir une alimentation à deux fils de 120 V, 15 A, 60 Hz avec
un circuit de mise à la terre pour l’évier de cuisson.
Installer une boîte de jonction dans le meuble près de l’évier de
cuisson. Situer la boîte de jonction l’écart de toute tuyauterie de
drainage ou d’eau.
Tirer les fils du panneau du disjoncteur par la boîte de jonction
près de l’évier de cuisson.
Terminer les câbles au niveau du disjoncteur.
Ne pas mettre sous tension tant que ce n’est pas indiqué.

Dans le meuble, acheminer et attacher le câblage d’alimentation
de l’évier de cuisson afin de protéger les fils du contact avec tout
élément pouvant être remisé dans le meuble. Un conduit étanche
flexible est recommandé.

2. Préparation
ATTENTION : Risque de blessure corporelle ou
d’endommagement du produit. Les éviers en fonte sont très
lourds. Demander de l’aide pour soulever l’évier.
ATTENTION : Risque d’endommagement du produit. Travailler
avec soin pour ne pas endommager les composants de la cuve
de cuisson lorsque l’évier est soulevé pour être mis en place.
Installer les tuyaux d’arrivée d’eau et d’évacuation selon les
informations du plan de raccordement.
Vérifier l’emplacement désiré de l’évier, pour laisser un espace
suffisant entre le dosseret, le robinet, l’évier et le meuble.
Positionner le plan sur le comptoir et tracer le pourtour avec un
crayon.
Découper soigneusement l’ouverture en suivant le tracé du plan.
Installer le robinet sur l’évier selon les instructions du fabricant
du robinet.
Mesurer et comparer l’épaisseur du rebord de l’évier et des
carreaux.
REMARQUE : L’épaisseur du rebord de l’évier est de 3/8″(1 cm)
+/- 1/32″(1 mm).
