Installation
1. After unboxing the unit, you will first want to set the date and time.
Turn the unit on using the power button on the side of the unit. Once
powered on, press the silver button to the left of the screen labeled
MENU. There are 4 sub-menus designated by icons at the bottom of
the settings screen. Toggle the sub-menu by pressing the button on
bottom right labeled SOS until the “wrench” icon is highlighted in
yellow. Use the DOWN button on the left to select Clock Settings and
press the OK button. To change the numbers push the UP and DOWN
buttons and press OK to move to the next section. NOTE: The camera
uses a 24 hour clock format. When finished, highlight OK at the bottom
of the screen and press the OK button again to save your changes.
2.Attach the suction cup mount to the camera by inserting the square
connector at the end of the mount into the square hole on the top of
the camera and then slide it over. It’s a tight fit to keep the camera
securely in place so it may require a firm push to slide it into place.
3.Mount the camera to your windshield by placing the suction cup
on the window and then pressing the engage lever down. The
recommended placement is in the center below your rear view mirror.
Be sure the windshield is clean and dry and attach it in a place where
it does not obstruct your view of the road. You can release the suction
cup to remove it by lifting the engage lever and then pulling the clear
tab.
4.Next, connect the power cable to the camera by plugging the small
micro USB end into the camera on the top left hand side. The other
end goes into your car’s DC power port. Please note it is a tight fit, so
press firmly to fully seat the plug. The camera should remain plugged
in while in use. It is not designed to run on battery power alone. The
camera comes with a long cable so you can install it under the cars
headliner. It’s recommended that you run it to the right along the pas-
senger’s side of the vehicle so the cord does not obstruct the view or
mobility of the driver.
5.The camera is ready to go. Once powered on, you can use the OK
button to start and stop the recording. When recording, you will see a
flashing red dot and the word REC at the top of the screen. When in
standby, you will see STBY in green.

Features
Auto Power On and Record: Each time you power your vehicle on and off
the dash cam will power on and off with it. Upon starting your car the
camera will power on and automatically start recording. NOTE: This may
not work with some vehicles where the DC power port is always on, for
example. In this case the unit can be manually turned on by pressing the
POWER button. You can start and stop the recording by pressing OK.
G-Sensor: The built in G-sensor will detect an impact and automatically
lock the footage that is currently being recorded.
Expandable Memory: The dash cam includes a 16G memory card,
which provides 3 hours of recording time. Up to a 64G memory card
can be used in the camera for up to 12 hours of recording time. AClass 10
Micro SD card is required, we recommend buying compatible
cards here: Getdashcam.com/shop
Parking Monitor: This feature detects impact when your vehicle is parked
and turns the camera on to record the incident. Should only be enabled
when the car is parked, as it will interfere with normal operation when
driving.
Motion Detection: This feature detects visual motion and turns the
camera on to record the incident. Should only be enabled when the
car is parked, as it will interfere with normal operation when driving.
FCWS (Forward Collision Warning System): This feature watches for
cars and will sound an alarm if a vehicle suddenly moves towards you.
Note that this feature only kicks on when traveling above 40MPH.
LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System): This feature looks for the
lines in the road and tracks your vehicle’s placement between them.
When your vehicle drives outside of those lines an audible alarm will
sound. This needs to be calibrated for your camera’s position for best use.
See LDWS in Menu and Customization settings. Note that this feature
only kicks on when traveling above 40MPH.
Mode Button:
Pressing the MODE button once (from the video standby screen) changes
to Still Capture Mode, allowing you to capture still images (photos) using
the OK button. Pressing the MODE button twice will take you to video
playback and allow you to view, delete, or protect captured video clips.
Pressing the MODE button a third time will take you to still capture view
and allow you to view, delete, or protect captured still images.
SOS Button: Pushing this button locks the footage currently being re-corded.

How to navigate
Once powered on, press the silver button to the left of the screen labeled
MENU. There are 4 sub-menus designated by the icons at the bottom of
the settings screen. The sub-menus are Movie Mode, Still Capture, Format
Card, and General Settings. Toggle the sub-menu by pressing the button
on bottom right labeled SOS. A detailed description of each menu and its
options is included below.
Movie Mode Menu
These are the video settings for the dash cam.
Movie Mode: Movie size options are 1920 x 1080 30fps (1080p full HD) or
1280 x 720 30fps (720p HD).
Movie Quality: Select the pixel quality of your movie playback, options are
Super Fine or Fine
Movie Clip Time: This is the length of the video clip the camera records.
It records for up to 3 hours at a time but for playback purposes, it’s broken
down into smaller chunks of time. This can be set to OFF (the “clip” will be
the full length of recording time), 1, 2 or 5 minutes. The manufacturer
recommends setting this to 5 minutes or less. The camera features loop
recording, so when the card is full it will start recording over the oldest clips.
Motion Event Record: This is the amount of time the camera will record for
when Motion Detection is triggered. If set to 10 seconds, the camera will
record for that amount of time as long as no further motion is detected.
Sound Record: The dash cam records sounds. If turned OFF, no sound will
be recorded.
LDWS: Lane Departure Warning System, this will detect the lines in the road
and give off an audible alarm when the vehicle veers over the lines. This is
calibrated under the general settings menu. Note that this feature only kicks
on when traveling above 40MPH.
FCWS: Front Collision Warning System, this will detect distance between the
front of your car and the car in front of you and give an audible alarm when
the distance is too short. Note that this feature only kicks on when traveling
above 40MPH.
Still Capture Menu
The dash cam has the ability to capture still images instead of video. When in
standby, press mode to change to still image capture. Press the OK button to
take a picture.
Still Image Size: This is the quality of the captured image, in mega pixels.
The options are 2M, 1.2M or VGA (less than 0.3M). 2M is the highest quality,
while VGA is the lowest.
Still Quality: Select the pixel quality of captured still images, options are
Super Fine or Fine.
Format Card Menu
These are the settings for the memory card.
Format Card: This will erase all the data on the card, no videos will be saved.
Please download any footage you want to save before doing this.
Card Information: This displays how much footage and picture space is left
on the card. Remember that the camera will loop record over the oldest
footage when full.

set to 60Hz. Other countries such as the UK, Asia and Russia use 50Hz. LCD
Power Save: By default, the camera is set to turn the LCD screen off after 1
minute. This is because many states have Distracted Driving Laws regarding
screens. The camera will continue to record even when the LCD screen is off.
If desired, you can set this to OFF to leave the screen on at all times, or set it
to turn off after 1 or 3 Minutes.
G-Sensor: This is the level of sensitivity of the G sensor, which detects an
impact and will lock the current recording. It is set to “Level 2” by default,
which is the recommended level. Options are: Off and Levels 1 –4. When set
to 1, more force is required to trigger the sensor. When set to 4, the sensor
may be triggered too easily.

impact when your vehicle is parked and turns the camera on to record the
incident. Should only be enabled when the car is parked, as it will interfere
with normal operation when driving.

detects visual motion and turns the camera on to record the incident. Should
only be enabled when the car is parked, as it will interfere with normal
operation when driving.
Reset Setup: This will reset your camera’s settings back to the factory default.
LDWS Calibration: Once the camera is installed on the windshield, the red line
should be adjusted to the horizon by pressing the UP and DOWN buttons to
the left of the screen. Once the red line is set, press OK to adjust the green
line using the UP and DOWN buttons. The green line should be adjusted to
the front edge of the vehicle in the field of view. Once the green line is set,
press OK again. There is one more setting with a range of numbers on the
right side of the screen. The manufacturer has recommended to leave this at
the default setting and to press OK once more to complete the calibration.
