PNEUMATIC BRAKES
MAIN COMPONENTS AND FUNCTION
The machine is equipped with a single line braking system. The top speed is restricted to
maximum 25 km/h.
The machine should have a maximum speed sign on the rear of the hopper.
HOSE COUPLING
The pneumatic braking system is connected to tractor by two hoses, supply line and control
line. The hoses are equipped with special hose couplings. When connected, the pin will push
open the spring-loaded valve of the tractor’s hose coupling thus establishing a connection
between the bracing systems of tractor and machine. The supply line coupling and the
control line coupling has different design and colour, that makes it impossible to connect
wrong.

1. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
LINE FILTER
Line lters are mounted bout on supply and control hose, to protect the air braking system
against dirt. The compressed air reaching the lter via port 1 through the lter cartridge in
which any particles of dirt are retained; before it reaches any downstream appliances from
port 2. If the line lter is blocked, the lter cartridge is pushed upwards against the spring and
compressed air will pass through the lter without being cleaned.
MAINTENANCE
The Line Filters is placed inside the main frame. Remove the lter cartridge and blow trough
with compressed air every 3-4 months under normal conditions. Damaged lters cartridges
need to be replaced.
RELAY EMERGENCY VALVE
The Relay Emergency Valve control the braking system.
Compressed air passes from the tractor supply line through the valve to the reservoir. When
the tractor brakes are activated compressed oil ows in the control line to the Relay
Emergency Valve. The Valve lls the piston cylinder with compressed air from the air
reservoir. The valve also adjusts the amount of air pressure that is sent to the piston cylinder.
The braking force can be adjusted with the handle on the valve.

AIR RESERVOIR
The air reservoir storage compressed air delivered from the compressor on the tractor.
DRAIN VALVE
The valve drain condensation water from the air reservoir and, if necessary, to exhaust
the compressed air from the airlines and reservoir. The valve is held closed by a spring A
and the pressure in the reservoir. By pulling or pushing pin Cthe tilting valve B open. This
permits both compressed air and condensation water to escape from the reservoir.
MAINTENANCE
Drain the air reservoir ones every day.
Check that the drain valve seals.

1. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
BRAKE CYLINDER
The piston cylinder is used to create braking force to the wheel brakes. As soon as
compressed air acts on the piston of the brake cylinder, that cylinder is force out. Via the
plunger the piston force acts on the brake linkage. The piston force of the brake cylinder is
depending upon the piston surface and the pressure acting on that surface. A fabric lter
tted in the front of the cylinder jacket prevents dirt and dust from getting inside the cylinder
as the piston is retracted.
MAINTENANCE
If defects become apparent during visual or functional checks, the brake cylinder needs to be
replaced or repaired. Even if functioning properly the brake cylinder should be reconditioned
at 2-5 year intervals.
PARKING BRAKE
The machine is equipped with a mechanically operated Parking Brake. Do not release the
parking brake until the tractor is hocked to the machine. The parking brake is mounted on
the right side of the draw bar.
