The Nogueira RoyalFlow Pendulum Spreaders have been designed to precisely
spread granulated fertilizers, lime, and seeds in general. Its spreading range
depends on the specific weight of the material being spread varying from 9 to
14 meters.
MIXERS:
The Royalflow is assembled with the standard mixer from the factory and then
shipped, which is recommended for dry and granulated materials and seeds. In
order to spread damp or lumpy materials, lime, gypsum, etc.; it will be necessary
to purchase the extra mixer, which was specially developed for these applications.
The extra mixer must be assembled over the standard mixer, as displayed in the
following figure.
HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE EXTRA MIXER:
Insert the three holes Ain the three brackets

The RoyalFlow must be coupled to the three-point hydraulic lift system of the
tractor, in the following manner:
• Position the tractor so that the power take-off and the RoyalFlow actuation axle
are aligned;
• Adjust the height of the tractor hydraulic arms to the same height as the Royal-
Flow coupling pins.
•First connect the left hydraulic arm of the tractor, then the right arm, and finally
the upper arm (3rd point), after that lock the cotter pins.
IMPORTANT:
Adjust the side stabilizers, so that the sideways movements of the machine are
constrained, avoiding the arms from touching the tires. The machine must operate
leveled (figures 5 and 6).

12 RoyalFlow-600

Due to the varying distance between the tractor power take-off and the RoyalFlow
actuation axle in diverse models of existing tractors on the market, eventually,
it may be necessary to adjust the length of the driveshaft before using it. In this
case, the machine must be properly coupled to the tractor and the power take-off
must be disconnected, then proceed in the following manner:
• Separate the two parts of the driveshaft.
• Couple the tubular part (female) in the RoyalFlow axle and the solid part (male)
in the tractor power take-off.
• Place the two parts (male and female) side by side. Check if there is a minimum
distance of play of 25 mm in the two ends of the driveshaft. (If the necessary
play is not present, then mark the ends, so that the driveshaft can be cut.
• Remove the driveshaft from the machine and the tractor and cut the ends.
• Assemble both parts of the driveshaft. Check to see if the cross pieces are
aligned.
• Couple the tubular part (female) to the solid part (male) in the tractor power
take-off.

SPREADING RATE
The amount of the product spread by the RoyalFlow is defined by the opening
of the flow valve, based on the position of the C dosing scale in C(fig. 9).
The DLever (fig. 8) opens and closes the flow valve.
The CScale defines how much the valve opens to adjust the flow.
The opening of the valve depends on 3 factors :
·Spreading rate (see the following calculation).
·Tractor speed (defined based on the local terrain conditions).
·Operating width (varies according to the type, specific weight, and the gra-
nulation of the material being spread).
The pendulum machines spread in a trapezoidal pattern, different from disc Fer-
tilizers that spread in a triangular pattern, and require a smaller overlying space,
around 1/3 of the disc operating width.
ADJUSTING THE SPREADING RATE
OPERATION
WIDTH: 24 m OVERLAP: 8 m
INITIAL OPERATION
Before operating the machine carefully check the following:
•Check if there are no objects or tools inside the machine.
•Check if there are no people or animals near the machine.
After the RoyalFlow is properly coupled and lubricated, operate it for a few minutes
idling. Turn on the power take-off and increase the speed little by little until the
acceleration reaches 540 RPM.
Look at the tractor instrument panel, the marking corresponding to 540 RPM
in the power take-off is achieved inn most tractors by a RPM between 1900
and 2100 RPM on the tachometer.
14 RoyalFlow-600

Let’s use the following agricultural formula to calculate the fertilizer flow which
will be spread:
EXAMPLE:
Let’s take the following example to demonstrate the calculation: We need to spread
280 Kg of fertilizer per hectare, at a width of 10 m, and the tractor is moving at
a speed of 8 Km/hour.
Here is the informations:
Spreading rate = 280 Kg/ha.
Operating width = 10 m.
Tractor speed = 8 Km/hr.
THE FOLLOWING IS THE CALCULATION:
Flow = 280 Kg/h X 10 mX 8 km/hr = 37 Kg/min.
600
So, we discovered, it is necessary to spread 37 Kg of fertilizer per minute to
achieve this. Now, only we need to define what position it is necessary to place
the scale so that the valve is open enough to spread 37 Kg/min.
flow =
spreading rate (Kg/ha) x operating width (m) x tractor operating speed (Km/h)
600
This test is simple; just perform the following described procedure:
1. Load the machine with the product for spreading.
2. Remove pendulum A(figura 8).
3. Place a recipient for storing the product from the outlet (figura 8).
4. Move lever Dand completely close the valve (figura 8).
5. Manually turn the adjuster C(figure 9) until the midpoint of the scale.
6. Turn on the machine (540 rpm in the power take-off).
7. Move lever D(figure 8), until the valve is completely open. Register the weight
of the product after 1 minute of flow into the recipient.
8. Redo the test, changing the scale position until achieving 37 Kg/min;
Increasing the scale to increase the flow and or decreasing it.
9. Once the adjustment is defined, reinsert the pendulum again.
CMT.: Register the required scale position, you may need the same setting for
future spreadings.
PRACTICAL FLOW TEST
Manual de InstruçõesRoyalFlow-600 15

When fertilizing coffee, oranges, apple, and orchards in general, it may be ne-
cessary to spread two distinct rows. This is done by just changing the standard
pendulum to the pendulum without the diffuser, especially developed for this
situation. The length of the pendulum defines the distance between rows, as
displayed on the following table:
PENDULUM DISTANCE
LENGHT BETWEEN ROWS
80 millimeters 3 – 4 meters
120 millimeters 4 – 5 meters
170 millimeters 5 – 6 meters
200 millimeters 6 – 7 meters
250 millimeters 7 – 8 meters
300 millimeters 8 – 9 meters
350 millimeters 9 – 10 meters
EXAMPLE:
Let’s take the following example situation:
We need to fertilize a coffee plantation, spreading 50 grams per plant.
The distance between the rows is 4 m and the distance between plants is 1.50m.
PROCEDURE:
Start the tractor and drive through the coffee plantation at a normal operating
speed for exactly 1 minute. Count how many plants are behind you, adding the
number by two rows. Let’s say there are 70 plants in each row, and then there are
a total of 140 plants. Thus, we know that during 1 minute, there must be enough
fertilizer leaving the machine to spread 50 grams on each of the 140 plants.
This is the calculation: 140 plants x 50 grams/plant = 7000 grams (7 Kg).

C

In this way, we discovered that in the conditions of the mentioned plantation on
the previous page, by moving the tractor at a normal speed and spreading 7000
grams (7 Kg) per minute, thus we are spreading 50 grams on each coffee plant.
So now, we need to adjust the RoyalFlow to spread 7000 grams (7 kilograms)
per minute.
Let’s perform the following practical test description:
1.Load the machine with the product for spreading.
2.Remove pendulum Aloosening the screws and nuts.
3.Place a recipient for storing the product from the outlet (figure 10).
4.Move Lever Dand completely close the valve.
5.Manually turn the adjuster Cuntil the midpoint of the scale (about the middle
of it).
6.Turn on the machine (540 rpm).
7.Move lever Duntil the valve is open and measure after one minute. Weigh
the product that has fallen into the recipient.
8.Redo the test, changing the scale position until achieving 7 Kg/min;
Increasing the scale to increase the flow and or decreasing it.
9.Once the adjustment is defined, reinsert the pendulum again.

LUBRICATION POINTS:
Lubricate the grease fittings A, B, and C after every 8 hours of operating.
Also lubricate with grease, the cross pieces, and the driveshaft tubes after every
10 hours of operation.
After lubrication, do not remove the excessive grease which is on the grease fitting
nozzle, this is for protection.
MAINTENANCE
fig. 12 fig. 13
Your RoyalFlow requires a minimum of maintenance in order to achieve perfect ope-
ration and maximum durability. Then the following procedures are indispensible:
· Keep the machine clean. Remainders of fertilizer, which stay inside the reservoir
harden quickly and can damage the opening of the dosing valves and damage
the opening and closing mechanism.
· Clean routinely the inside of the pendulum well.
· Keep the machine properly lubricated.
Before extended stoppages, we recommend the following procedure:
· Wash the machine completely, lubricate it, and store it in a location protected
from the sun and rain.
Lubricate the recommended following places using a grease gun. Use special grease for ball
bearings, lithium soap base, NLGI 2 EP classification.
Grease example: LUBRAX LITH-2.
Beforelubricating, cleanthe grease fittings well as toavoidcontaminatingthegrease. Replace
damaged grease fittings.
