3. Battery installation
The player runs on 1 AAA battery not included). Open the back cover of the
battery compartment and insert 1 AAA battery as indicated. Close the cover.
4. PC connection
This player is Plug & Play for Windows ME, XP, 2000 and Vista. For Windows
98SE, you need to install the included driver first before connecting the player
to the USB port of your PC.
To install the driver for Windows 98SE, place the CD ROM in your drive and
execute the Setup.exe file to install the software. Follow the instructions on the
screen. Once the driver is installed, the PC will prompt for a reboot. After
restarting the PC, you can connect the MP3 player to the USB port.
For the other Windows versions, connect the player to the USB port of your PC
with the USB connector that is built in the player. When you open “My
Computer”, you will find a new removable disk. This is your MP3 player. Just
copy or drag-and-drop files to this disk and they will be copied to the MP3
player. To remove from the PC, click the SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE icon
in the system tray and stop the USB mass storage device. When prompted,
you can safely remove the MP3 player.
5. Keys and connections description
On top of the player, you will find the following keys/connections:
- Headphone jack
- Hold switch slide to right to lock the keys, slide left to use keys)
- Play button press to play song or pause song)
- A/B repeat press to set A and B an repeat this part of a song)

The front side of the player has the following keys:
- Navigation joystick. This can be used to:
- turn up volume press joystick upwards)
- turn down volume press joystick downwards)
- previous track press joystick to the left)
- next track press joystick to the right)
- Menu button the menu can be accessed when you keep the joystick in the
center position and then press it for a few seconds)
Next to the menu button is the LCD display, which shows:
First (upper) row:
- Play or pause indicator
- Track number / total number of tracks
- Play mode
- Equalizer mode
- FM transmitter indicator
- Battery status indicator
Second (middle) row:
- Track title
Third (lowest) row:
- File type
- Bit rate
- Key lock on/off indicator
- Elapsed time
- Total time for current track
Finally, the USB connector is underneath the cover. Slide off the cover to
reveal the USB connector and plug the MP3 player into the USB port.
6. Basic functions
Power on the player by pressing and holding the play/pause key for a few
seconds, until you see the display switch on and show the menu. To power off,
press and hold the play/pause key until the display switches off.
For other basic functions, refer to chapter 5.

7. Advanced functions
7.1 Using the menu
Press and hold the menu key to enter the main menu. Push the joystick left or
right to select the desired menu option and press the menu button to confirm
the selected item. Press the play/pause button to return or do not press any
key. The player will automatically exit the menu.
7.2 Using the navigation menu
In music mode, shortly press the menu key to enter the folder navigation mode.
To navigate through folders, push the menu key left or right to select the folder.
Press the menu key to enter the selected folder. Push the menu key left or right
to select the track you want to play. Press the play/pause button to exit the
current folder and go one level higher.
7.3 A-B repeat
To repeat a specific section of the current track, press the A-B button during
playback to select the starting point for the repeat section. Press the A-B button
again at the desired point to specify the end of the repeat section. The section
between A and B will now start to play repeatedly. Short press the A-B key to
stop A-B repeat.
7.4 Select play mode
You can switch between normal, repeat one, repeat all, shuffle and repeat
shuffle play modes. To select the play mode, press and hold the menu key to
show the main menu. Select the “tools” icon and press the menu key to show
the options. Select “Repeat” and press the menu key to confirm. Push the
joystick menu button) left or right to select the desired repeat mode and press
the menu key to confirm. If you press the play/pause key, this cancels the
action and you can return to the menu options.
7.5 Select preset equalizer mode
The equalizer modes are normal, rock, jazz, classic, pop and bass. Press and
hold the menu button to enter the main menu. Select the “tools” icon and press
the menu key to show the options. Select “Equalizer” and press the menu
button to confirm. Select “Preset EQ” and press the menu key to confirm. Push
the menu key left or right to select the desired equalizer mode. Press the menu
key to confirm or press play/pause to cancel.

7.6 User-defined equalizer
To adjust the equalizer manually, select the “tools” icon from the main menu
and press the menu key to confirm. Select “Equalizer” and press menu key to
confirm. Select “Custom EQ” and press menu button again. Push the menu
button up and down to adjust the band frequency step. Push the menu key left
or right to switch the column to be adjusted. Press the menu key to confirm the
settings.
7.7 Deleting a track
Short press the menu key to enter the folder navigation mode. Select the folder
or track you want to delete. Press the A-B key to delete it. Push the menu key
leftwards to select “Yes” option and press the menu key again to confirm
deletion of the track. Press the play/pause key to cancel.
8. FM transmitter function
This MP3 player has a built-in FM transmitter. To activate this function, enter
the main menu using the menu button. Select “FM Transmitter” and enter this
option. You can enable or disable this function. Check any free frequency on
your car radio and then use the joystick to fine tune the FM transmitter to the
desired frequency. When transmitting, there is an icon in the LCD display,
showing the transmitter is ON. Tune your car radio to the same frequency and
enjoy your MP3 music through your car audio speakers. The cable attached to
the neck strap hole is the antenna. Do not use the earphone as antenna.
9. Voice recording
In the music or voice mode, press and hold the A-B key to start recording. The
display changes to show “Rec” mode and displays “V001.WAV” filename for
first recorded file, saved as WAV format). To stop recording, press the A-B key
again. The file will be saved in the VOICE folder. Press the play/pause key to
play the voice file which was just recorded.
10. System settings
Select the “tools” icon and press the menu key to enter system settings. Push
the menu key left or right to select which option you wish to adjust. Press the
menu key to confirm or press the play/pause key to cancel/return.
Backlight Set duration of backlight after a key is pressed for the last time
Contrast Set contrast between background and foreground
Shutdown Set length of time before player is turned off automatically
Play time Set continuous playback time before player is turned off
Memory View total capacity and remaining space of internal memory
Language Select display language for ID3 information
