A.Introduction
Thankyou for choosingour Personal DVDplayer. The main
features include a 4.2"(16:9 aspect ratio) Liquid Crystal Display
(LCD) monitor and a DVD player. Please read the entire instruction
manual supplied with this product prior to using. The
documentation will assist you in installing the system properlyto
obtain the best equipment performance. Please save thismanual
for later use.
B. Cautions and Warnings
FollowInstructions -- Follow all operating andmaintenanceinstruc-
tionsandadhereto all warnings.
Cleaning -- Unplug thisproduct from thewall outletbeforecleaning.
Do not use liquidor aerosol cleaners.
Accessories --Do not use accessoriesnot recommendedinthis
instruction bookas theymay be hazardous.
Water andMoisture --Hazard of electric shock.Do not usethis
product near water or in rainyor moist environments.
ObjectsandLiquid-- Neverallowobjectsofany kind orliquids tobe
pushed or spilled into thisproduct through openings, as theymay
comeinto contact with dangerous voltage or other hazards.
Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.
Condensation -- Moisture will form intheoperatingsection ofthe
player ifthe player is broughtfrom a coolenvironment into awarm
environment or ifthe temperatureofthe room rises suddenly. When
this happens, theplayer's performance willbeimpaired. To prevent
this, let the player stand inits newsurroundings for about anhour
before switchingit on, or makesure that the room temperature

rises gradually. Condensation may also form duringthe summer if
the player is exposedtothe breeze from an air conditioner. Insuch
cases, changethe location ofthe player.
Placing or Moving -- Do not place on an unstable cart, stand,
tripod, bracket, or table. The product may fall, causingserious injury
toa child oradult, and seriousdamagetotheproduct. Move
productand cart combinations withcare. Quick stops, excessive
force, and unevensurfaces maycause theproduct and cart
combination to overturn.
Power Cord Protection -- Route power cordsso that theyare not
likely to bewalked onor pinched by items placedupon oragainst
them. Pay particular attentionto plugsand the point wherethe
cords exit the product.
Lightning -- For added protection ofthisproduct duringalightning
storm, or whenit is left unattendedand unused for long periods of
time, disconnect it from thewall outlet. This will prevent damageto
theproduct due to lightningand power-linesurges.
Overloading -- Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords
as this can result in risk offire or electric shock.
Servicing -- Do not service this product yourself. Openingor
removingcovers may expose youto dangerous voltagepoints or
other hazards. Refer all servicingtoqualified service personnel.
Damage RequiringService -- Disconnectthisproductfrom thewall
outletand allpowersourcesincludingbatteries,and referservicingto
qualified service personnelunder the following conditions:
a)When thepower cord or plug is damaged.
b)Ifanyliquid has been spilled onto, or objects have fallen intothe
product.

Open flames -- Keep the unit awayfrom openflame sources, such
asfire andcandles, and do not placeopen flames on the unit.

Note: Boththe DVD playeranddiscare coded byregion. Theseregion
codes must match in order for the disc to play. Ifthe codes dont
match, the disc wontplay.Thisunit sregioncode is1. DVD s
with other region codescannot be played inthis unit.

ADVDplayer isaClass1laserproduct. However, this playeruses a
visiblelaser beam, whichcouldcause hazardous radiation exposure.
Be sure to operate the player correctlyas instructed.
Thefollowingcautionlabelis locatedonthe rearpanelof the player.
Whenthis player is plugged into the walloutlet, do notlookclosely
at the disc tray or other openings.

E.Powering and Charging
1.Powering
Indoor use
Plug one endoftheAC to DCadapter into theDC jackon the right
side of the unit,andplugthe other end into the AC power outlet.
Then,Slide the ON/OFF switch to ON positon.
Outdoor use
Plugone endof thecar cord to the DC jackonthe unit,and plug
the other endinto cigarette lighter jack in car.
Then,Slide the ON/OFF switch to ON positon.
From built-in battery
Do notusethe AC adaptor.Switch ON/OFF toON. If thebattery
has been charged, it will power the unit.

2.Charging
A built-in rechargeablebattery (Li-Ion)isincludedforportable use.
Afully chargedbattery cansupport about2hours of playtime.
When the built-in battery cannot power the unit or is used forthe
first time, rechargeit.
1) Switch ON/OFF to OFF.
2) ConnecttheACadaptortothe DCjack andastandard walloutlet.
Theredindicator will light up.Once fully recharged,the redlight
willturn off.
3) Disconnect theAC adapter to stop charging.
Note: It usually takes about 5hours to chargethe battery.
Note: Charge the batteryfor at least 8 hours before youuse it for
the first use.

H.Loadingand Playinga Disc
1. After connecting power to the unit, turn on the DVD player.The
power indicator will light up.
2. Open the disc trayby slidingOPEN, and place adisc into the tray
with the label sidefacing up.
3. Close the tray. The unit willload the disc and start playing.
4.Adjustthe BRIGHTNESS andVOLUMEcontrols.
5. Tostop the disc press and holdthe PLAY/PAUSE button for about
3secondswhen the discisplaying.

I.Setup
Press SETUP todisplaythemain screenof the SetupMenu on the
screen.Press SETUPagain to exit theSetupMenu, andthe unitwill
resume its last playbackmode.

1)Press SETUP.TheGeneral SetupPagewilldisplay onthescreen.
a) Select TV Displayusingthe UP/DOWN button,and then press
RIGHTto enterthe sub menu.SelecttheTVdisplaymodeon the
screenusingUP/DOWN, and pressENTERto confirm the
setting. Press LEFT to return.
l Normal/PS: When theplayer is connected to anormal TV, a
wide picture appears on thefullscreen.
l Normal/LB: Whentheplayeris connected toa normal TV, a
wide pictureappearson thescreen with ablack strip at both
the top and bottom of the screen.
l Wide: Whentheplayeris connectedto a wide screenTV, a
wide picture appears on thefullscreen.

b) Usethesame stepsas abovetoselect Screen Saver mode On or
Off.
On:Enables screensaver
Off: Disablesscreensaver
Note: The DVD player willenter the Screen Saver modeafter
approximately fiveminutes if the same image remainson the
screen.
c)Usethe samestepsasaboveto select LastMemory modeOnorOff.
On: The player returns to the last position on the disc.
Off: The player does not returnto the last position on the disc.
Note:TheLastMemoryfunctionsonlywhenpoweris onandthe
disc isnot removed.
2) SelectVideoQuality Setupby using the LEFT/RIGHTbutton to set
Brightness, Contrast, Hue and saturation.

Newpassword as prompted on the screen.

Note:
TheDefault Password isLeft, Left, Menu, Right. This passwordis
always effectiveeven after youhave selected your ownpassword
and changed it. Toavoidothers using the default password to set
the parental levelandchangethepassword, you can record this
default passwordinother place and delete it from this manual.
Some discs can be limited dependingon the age ofusers while
some discs cannot. Ifyou want to changethe password, onlyLeft,
RightandMenuareavailable.
4) With no disc playing, select Preference to chooseAudio language, Subtitle
language, Disc Menulanguage,Parental levelandDefault setting.
Note:
1. Language and subtitle selections areavailable only for discsthat
are recordedinthelanguages listedabove.Iftheselected
language isnotavailable,the player willplay anddisplayonthe
screen theoriginal languagerecorded in the disc.
2. TheParental setup 8levelsare listed from the lowest level (1 Kid
Safe)to thehighest level(Adult). Enter a 4digitpassword ( Left,
Left, Menu,Right) to change itand thelevelof8Adultisdefault
setting.
Especiallyif theunit dont allow to play adisc since the parental
lock, you can input the correct password to pass the inspection.

your TV or Monitor. The contents ofthe menuvary from disc to disc.
PressMENUduringplaybacktodisplaythemainmenu.SomeDVDs
onlyallowyou to select disc playbackoptions usingtheDVDs main
menu.
K. PlayingAudio CDs
Whenplayingan audioCD, the screenwill displaythe elapsed
playback timeof the current track. Use Pause, Previous, and Next to
navigate throughthe CD.

CD-R /RWdiscs that havebeen encoded in MP3 format are
compatiblewith this system.Whenyouinsertan MP3 CD, the DVD
player willinitialize thediscandthedirectory(folder) willbeshownon

M. Playing JPEG files
1) Load a JPEG Disc into thetray.
2) Select aJPEG file by pressingUP and DOWN.
3) You can preview the JPEG file by pressingPLAYor OK.
4) Press MENU to viewthe JPEGfiles.Amenu will appear on the
screen. Press PLAYtoreturn.
5) PressPLAY, to play theJPEG file.
Whenan MP3disc is inserted into the unit,the menu screen
appearsand playstheMP3 tracks automatically.You canuse
themenuscreentochangefolders and songs.Thesystemwill
playthesongsinthe ordertheywereburnedontothedisc.
1. Press the up or downbutton to choose a folder from the folder
list on the left sideof thescreen.
2. Press OK to select the highlighted folder. Thesongsavailable
underthefolderwill be listed.
3. Use the up and downbuttons to choose a song from the list.
PressOKtoselect and begin playbackofthe highlighted song.
4. PressNEXT to moveto the next song. Press the PREVIOUS to
move to thebeginningoftheprevious song.

N. Connecting toaccessories
1. Output
Youcanconnect theDVDplayerto a TVto enjoyhighquality stereo
soundand pictureon anothermonitor.Switch theAVIN/OUT switch
to Out so that the unit can output signals.
Connect oneend of the AVcable(3.5MM jack) into the unit sAV
Socket. Connectthe otherend totheAVINPUT Jackson yourTVor
Monitor throughan optional RCA output cable(white =left channel,
red = right channel, yellow=video).
Note: You mayuse optionalwiredheadphones with theunit. Simply plug
the headsetinto Headphonejack on the left side ofthe
player s screen.
Note: Plugging intoheadphone jack1disables the internal speakers.
2.Input
Whenthe IN/OUT switch is in the IN position, the unit can receive
AVsignals.
You can connect the DVD player to a game/camcorder through
theAVjack.Connect theAVCable3.5mm jackinto the DVDAV
socket.Then, connect the threecolour correspondingplugs to
the AV Output Jackson your game/camcorder or other
equipment.

Koss reservesthe right tomakechanges in design or tomakeadditionstoor improvements upon thisproduct
without incurring anyobligation to install the same on products previouslymanufactured. The foregoing is in lieu
of all other warranties expressed or implied and Koss neither assumes nor authorizes anyperson to assume for
