The SOL3-3 is a controller for solar thermal systems, and includes at max nine temperature sensor inputs, three switching
outputs, one pulse input and one 0-10V input or output
The controller is ready to use with the temperatures and operating schedules preset by the manufacturer On start-up, the
current time and date need to be set at the controller

some special configurations, the switching output connections are different The sheets below are showing the terminal-

The SOL3-3 provides 26 different hydraulic systems These differs in basic system components and extentions

Operation and display
Operating controls
The operating controls and the display are located in the front panel of the controller
Rotary pushbutton
Turn: Display, select parameters and function blocks
Push: Confirm adjusted selection or settings
Rotary switch Operating modes
Control operation active, display of informations about the
operation of the controller (normal position - information level)
Control operation deactivated, frost protection is activated
(controller is still active)
Manual mode: Valves and pumps can be controlled manually

Display
The display indicates the time as well as information about the operation of the controller when the rotary switch is at the
normal position (information level) The times-of-use together with temperatures of the various control circuits can be viewed
on the display by turning the rotary pushbutton The times-of-use are represented by black squares below the row of
numbers at the top of the display Icons indicate the operating status of the controller

Essential meaning for the symbol(s) of the collector pump(s):
Symbol or Description
Symbol OFF Pump is OFF
Symbol flashes short Valid temperature condition to switch on a pump, but pump leaves for
switch-off-time cycle in off state
Symbol ON, but cyclicOFF flashing Valid temperature condition to switch off a pump, but pump leaves for
switch-on-time cycle in off state

Information level
At the normal rotary switch position ,„Information level“, the time, date, public holidays and vacation periods as well as
the temperatures measured by the connected sensors and their set points ca be retrieved and displayed (Press and hold
rotary push butten to display set points)
Depending on the configuration of the controller, the current values of the following data points are displayed one after the
other:
Set rotary switch to information level;
