This Owner’s Manual was produced to ensure that you become aware of safe off-road vehicle operating procedures. It also
includes information about the general care and maintenance of your UXV500.

manner. Before riding your UXV500 you should:

other vehicles, including motorcycles,ATVs and automobiles.
A collision or rollover can occur quickly, even during routine
maneuvers such as turning and driving on hills and over ob-
stacles if you fail to take proper precautions.
Readthis Owner’s Manual carefullyand followthe opera-
tional procedures within. Pay special attention to the warn-
ings in this manual and applied to your vehicle.
Always ride slowly and be extra careful when operating
your UXV500 on unfamiliar terrain. Be alert for changing con-
ditions and terrain when operating your vehicle.
Never operate your UXV500 on excessively rough, slip-
pery, or loose terrain.
Always follow proper procedures for turning as described
inthismanual.Practiceturningatslowspeedsbeforeattempt-
ingtoturnatfasterspeeds.Donotturnatanexcessivespeed.
Always have your UXV500 inspected by an authorized
KYMCOATV dealer if it has been involved in an accident.
NeveroperateyourUXV500 on hills that are toosteepfor
thevehicleorforyourabilities.Practiceonsmallerhillsbefore
attempting larger hills.
Never operate this vehicle on a public road, even a dirt or
gravel road, as you may not be able to avoid a collision with
another vehicle.
YOUR UTV IS NOT A TOY AND CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO OPERATE.
AvoidpavedsurfaceswithyourUXV500 Thisvehicleisnot
designed to be driven on paved surfaces as its handling and
control will be seriously affected.
Always follow proper procedures for climbing hills as de-
scribed in this manual. Check the terrain carefully before you
start up any hill. Never climb hills that have slippery or loose
surfaces. Shift your weight forward when climbing hills. Never
openthethrottlesuddenlyormakesuddengearchanges.Never
go over the top of any hill at high speed.
Always follow proper procedures for going down hills and
for braking on hills as described in this manual. Check the ter-
rain carefully before you start down any hill. Never go down a
hillathighspeed.Avoidgoingdownahillatananglethatwould
cause your UXV500 to lean sharply to one side. Go straight
down the hill where possible.
Always follow proper procedures for crossing the side of a
hillasdescribedinthismanual.Avoidhillswithslipperyorloose
surfaces. If possible, shift your weight to the uphill side of the
vehicle. Never attempt to turn the vehicle around on any hill
until you have mastered the turning techniques described in
this manual on level ground.Avoid crossing the side of a steep
hill if possible.

Alwaysuseproperproceduresifyoustallorrollbackwards
whenclimbingahill.Toavoidstalling,maintainasteadyspeed
when climbing a hill. If you stall or roll backwards, follow the
special procedure for braking described in this manual. Exit
thevehicleontheuphillsideortoeithersideifpointedstraight
uphill.Turn the vehicle aroundandreenteritfollowingthepro-
cedure described in this manual.
Always check for obstacles before operating in an area
that you are unfamiliar with. Never attempt to operate your
UTV over large obstacles, such as large rocks or fallen trees.
Always follow proper procedures when operating over ob-
stacles as described in this manual.
Alwaysbealert forconditionsthatcouldcauseskiddingor
sliding. On slippery surfaces such as ice, go slowly and be
verycautiousinordertoreducethechanceofskiddingorslid-
ing out of control.
Never operate your UTV in fast flowing water or in water
deeperthan the floorboards.Remember that wetbrakes may
reduce stopping capability. Test your brakes after leaving wa-
ter. If necessary, apply them lightly several times to let friction
dry out the pads.
Alwaysusethesizeandtypetiresspecifiedinthismanual.
Always maintain proper tire pressure as described in this
manual.
Always be sure there are no obstacles or people behind
you when you operate your UTV in reverse. When it is safe to
proceed in reverse, go slowly.Avoid turning at sharp angles in
reverse.
Never improperly install or improperly use accessories on
your UXV500.
Always wear the seat belt while driving this vehicle.
Never alter the hand and foot controls of this vehicle.
Never operate this vehicle with the overhead canopy re-
moved.
NeverexceedthestatedloadcapacityforanyUTV.Cargo
should be properly distributed and securely attached. Reduce
speed and follow instructions in this manual for carrying cargo
or pulling a trailer and allow greater distance for braking.
Operation of this UTV is restricted to people 16-years of
age or older who posses a valid motor vehicle operator’s li-
cense. It is recommended that passengers be older than 6-
years of age.

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS
YourKYMCOUXV500hastwoidentificationnumbers:theVe-
hicle Identification Number (VIN), and the Engine Serial Num-
ber (ESN).
The VIN 1is located on the frame, behind the right, front
wheel.
NOTE: Record your VIN, ESN and key number codes
on the inside, back cover of this manual.
SERIAL NUMBER LOCATIONS
The ESN 2is located on the rightside of the engine crank-
case.
The VIN and ESN are required by your KYMCO dealer to or-
derproperparts,performservice,andsubmitwarrantyclaims.
Always provide yourvehicle’s year, model, VINandESNwhen
contacting an authorized KYMCO dealer for assistance.
WarrantyrepairswillbedeclinedbyKYMCOiftheVINorESN
onyourATV havebeen removed oraltered in any way. Ifyour
ATVrequiresarepairthatwillreplacetheenginecrankcaseor
the frame, ask your dealer to contact KYMCO to discuss the
situation.

KEYS
Four keys are supplied with your KYMCO UXV500. Two iden-
tical keys 3operate the ignition switch, while two identical
keys 4are used to access the glove box and gas tank cap.
Record the key numbers, and keep one key of each type in a
safe place as spares.

Never operate your UXV500 on any paved surface, including, but not limited to, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, or streets.

Operating your UTV on public streets, roads, or highways.

You can collide with another vehicle.

Never operate your UXV500 on a public street, road, highway, or even a dirt or gravel road. In many states it is illegal to operate this type of vehicle on
public streets, roads, or highways.

Operating your UTV without wearing eye protection.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Operating an off-road vehicle without eye protection can result in an accident and increases your chances of a severe injury, including loss of sight in the
event of an accident.
