The Enterprise Class Difference
The LaCie d2 Quadra Enterprise Class is the most complete
hard disk solution for professionals that need a powerful solution
to handle multiple tasks. Featuring a SATA Enterprise disk that
guarantees robust performance, the LaCie d2 Quadra Enterprise
Class offers optional 128-bit AES hardware encryption and comes
with 24K gold-plated cable contacts. It’s the perfect solution for
professionals that need flexible and high speed storage.
Enterprise Class Performance
The 24K gold-plated contacts on the d2 Quadra Enterprise Class’s cables offer
accurate and fast signal transfer, giving you sophisticated performance and
capabilities. With fast burst transfer rates of up to 105-115MB/s* via eSATA, this
industry-leading hard disk delivers high speeds and provides up to 2TB capacity in
a relatively compact device. It comes with four interfaces—eSATA 3Gb/s, FireWire
800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0—offering complete universal connectivity for PC
and Mac®users.

Advanced Power-Saving Design
The LaCie d2 Quadra Enterprise Class’s design is sturdy, compact and
versatile, making it ideal for intensive professional use. The unique, fanless
aluminum heat sink design with 60% more surface area for heat dissipation
keeps it quiet and as safe as possible at all times. Thanks to its Triple Power
Management System, it is able to switch into standby mode automatically—
reducing power consumption significantly. In addition, the LaCie d2
Quadra Enterprise Class is RoHS-certified, meaning that LaCie has made a
commitment to producing technology that’s better for our planet.
Enterprise Disk
The internal Enterprise Class disk included with the d2 Quadra
Enterprise Class comes with our five-year Enterprise Class Service
guarantee. This high-quality internal disk features 32MB cache
memory and 7200RPM, and targets an ambitious 1.2 million hours
MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure). Enterprise Class disks have been
developed with rotational vibration resistance technology, helping
them to be even more reliable and robust in a RAID tower or
rackmounted configuration.
Backup, Restore, and Recover
The LaCie d2 Quadra Enterprise Class comes with Genie Backup Manager
ProTM for Windows®and Intego Backup Manager ProTM for Mac. This
software lets you to reliably and efficiently back up your documents, emails,
settings, or other digital assets. With its ease of use, you can either program
the LaCie Shortcut Button using the LaCie Desktop Manager to launch a
backup with one push, or schedule and customize the type of backup you
create. Ideal for creative professionals, the Genie and Intego programs
can easily find previous versions of your documents and restore them.
With a computer recovery option, professionals will be able to restore their
configuration and to go right back to work in the event of a disaster with
their workstation. It’s easy to back up directly from your Mac with the native
solution, since the LaCie d2 Quadra Enterprise Class is compatible with
Time Machine®.
