POWERGLO SUBMERSIBLE 40 LED POND LIGHTS
Use only in pond and small decorative fountains where
persons will immerse no more than their hands and
lower arms while the product is energized. Do not
immerse to a depth greater than 4 ft. (1.2 m.)
For use in fresh water or out of water only. Not for use
in salt water.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: To guard against injury, basic safety
precautions should be observed, including the
following:
1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
and all the important notices on the appliance before
using it. Failure to do so may result in loss of fish life
and/or damage to this appliance.
2. DANGER – To avoid possible electric shock, special care
should be taken since water is employed in the use of
pond equipment. For each of the following situations,
do not attempt repairs yourself; return the appliance to
the store where it was purchased if still under warranty.
Power unit must be supplied by a circuit protected by
a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected by a
hooded, flush type, cover plate receptacle, marked for
use in Wet Locations.
A. If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal current
leakage or if a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter)
or RCD (Residual Current Device) switches off,
disconnect the power supply cord from mains (main
power supply) and remove the appliance from water.
B. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It
should not be plugged if there is water on parts not
intended to be wet.
C. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord
or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped
or damaged in any manner. The power cord of this
appliance cannot be replaced; if the cord is damaged,
the appliance should be discarded. Never cut the
cord.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is
used by or near children.
4. CAUTION – Always unplug or disconnect all appliances
in the pond from the electrical supply before placing
hands in water, before putting on or taking off parts and
while the equipment is being installed, maintained or
handled. When inserting or removing the lights from the
water, always disconnect from electrical supply. Never
yank the cord to pull the plug from outlet. Grasp the
plug and pull to disconnect. Always unplug an appliance
from the electrical supply when not in use. Never lift the
appliance by the cord.
5. CAUTION – This is a Pond Light Kit. This product
has been evaluated for use in fresh water or out of
water only. Do not use this appliance for other than
its intended use (i.e.: do not use in swimming pools,
etc.). The use of attachments not recommended or sold
by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe
condition.
• DO NOT use in water intended for swimming, wading,
immersion or bathing.
• The lights are suitable for use in water temperatures
up to 35°C (95ºF).
• Do not use the lights with inflammable or drinkable
liquids.
6. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be
exposed to temperatures below freezing. Store indoors.
Shelter lights and transformer from direct sunlight.
The plastic materials have high stability to sunlight but
direct rays may speed aging.
7. IMPORTANT – Supply through a GFCI or RCD with rated
residual current not exceeding 30 mA.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Following these installation, electrical and maintenance
guidelines will ensure the safe and efficient use of this
product. Low voltage circuit must be supplied by a power
unit marked as being suitable for submersed luminaries.
TRANSFORMER INSTALLATION
Please read these instructions before installing your
lighting system.
• Do not place the transformer close to flammable
materials.
• To avoid overheating, do not cover the transformer.
• Electrical connection must be in accordance with data
on the rating label.
• The cord should be protected from abrasion, cuts and
any other damage. If the cord is damaged, discard the
appliance. The socket must be positioned in a dry and
protected place.
• This appliance is made to work at temperatures between
5°C and 35°C (40ºF and 95ºF); never use it for any
purpose other than that which it is intended.

POND LIGHTS INSTALLATION
Check that the installation is done correctly before
switching on the appliance. The connection has to be
made in accordance with local regulations. Carefully check
that the leads are properly connected. If in doubt, consult a
qualified electrician.
• Main secondary (low voltage cable) must not be buried
to a depth of greater than 6 inches (15.2 cm).
• The cord should be protected from abrasion, cuts and
any other damage.
• Do not use the pond lights for any other purpose other
than that for which it is intended.
• Do not use this appliance in swimming pools or other
applications where people are immersed.
• These pond lights are made to function completely
immersed in water at temperatures between 5°C and
35°C (40ºF and 95ºF). Do not use in conditions where
temperature drops below freezing (0°C / 32°F)
• All installer completed cable connections must be
located outside of the pond or fountain.
INSTALLING THE PRE-WIRED LIGHTS AND
TRANSFORMER
The lights and transformer are already connected to make
installation fast and easy. Simply keep the following in
mind before installation.
LOCATION OF THE TRANSFORMER
When planning where to install the transformer, make sure
that the power cord is long enough to extend from the
electrical socket into which you will plug the transformer
to the point where you will mount the transformer.
Transformer must be in sheltered location a minimum of
1 m (39") above ground.
LOCATION OF THE LIGHTS
When planning to install the lights, make sure that the
cord length between the lights and the transformer can be
extended sufficiently to the desired location in or near the
pond.
MOUNTING THE TRANSFORMER
DO NOT USE EXTENSION CORDS!
There is a photocell sensor wired to the transformer that
causes the lamps to AUTOMATICALLY turn ON at dusk and
OFF at sunrise. Install the transformer in such a position
that its sensor is not blocked by shrubbery or other
obstructions, and is not directly in front of an artificial
lighting source that may shine directly upon it and cause
the unintentional switching on/off of the pond lights.
Mounting: Mount the transformer horizontally on a solid
surface beyond the reach of small children and at least
1 m (39") above the ground.
Transformer Mounting: Secure the transformer to the
mounting surface with either #8 x 1" round head wood
screws or if mounting on a concrete/brick surface use an
appropriate masonry anchors. Utilizing the two preformed
tabs extending from the transformer housing securely
fasten to the mounting surface.
PLUGGING IN THE TRANSFORMER
After the lights and transformer have been properly
installed, plug the transformer power cord into a Ground
Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected socket.
WARNING (for U.S.A. and Canada only): This appliance
has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless plug
can be fully inserted. Do not attempt to defeat this safety
feature.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR U.K. ONLY
Transformer without plug
This product is designed to be permanently wired to the
mains supply in a dry weatherproof enclosure through a
double pole switched fused spur which complies to
BS3676, fitted with a 3 Amp fuse. The installation
must conform to the regulations of the Local Electricity
Authority which could include the use of a plastic or
metal conduit to protect the cable. A 30 mA Residual
Current Device ‘RCD’ must be fitted to the mains supply.
IMPORTANT - The wires in this mains lead are coloured
in accordance with the following code:
BROWN - LIVE BLUE - NEUTRAL
The Brown lead should be connected to the Live
terminal, which may be marked with an ‘L’ or coloured
brown or red.
The Blue lead should be connected to the Neutral
terminal, which may be marked with an ‘N’ or coloured
blue or black.
The cord should be protected from abrasion, cuts or any
other damage.
The socket must be positioned in a dry and protected
place.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
1. IF - Light(s) do not turn on at dusk, make sure that
the light sensor is in a position where artificial light
sources will not affect the sensor’s operation and that
sensor lense is clean.
2. IF - Light(s) do not switch on in any setting, check
GFCI or RCD.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Always unplug or disconnect all appliances
in the pond from the electricity supply before putting
your hands in the water while the equipment is being
installed, repaired, maintained or handled. Never yank
the cord and never lift the appliance by the cable.
For cleaning, simply use a damp cloth. DO NOT USE
DETERGENTS OR OTHER CHEMICAL CLEANERS.
CAUTION:
• Transformer should be plugged into a GFCI or RCD
circuit breaker.
• Transformer should be mounted at least 3 metres
(10 ft.) away from the inside edge of the pond.
WARRANTY
PowerGlo Submersible 40 LED Pond Lights are
guaranteed against defects in material or workmanship
for a period of 3 years from date of purchase, under
normal usage. Items will be repaired or replaced at
manufacturer’s discretion, free of charge. This warranty
does not apply to products that have been subjected to
misuse, negligence, tampering or accidental damage.
No liability is assumed with respect to loss or damage to
livestock or personal property irrespective of the cause
thereof. This warranty does not affect your statutory
rights. Failure caused by misuse is not covered by this
warranty. This warranty does not cover the light bulbs.

Utiliser seulement dans les bassins et les fontaines
décoratives où les personnes ne mettront pas plus que
leurs mains et avant-bras dans l’eau quand l’appareil
est alimenté en courant. Ne pas immerger à plus de
1,2 m (4') de profondeur.
Pour usage en eau douce ou hors de l’eau seulement.

MESURES DE SÉCURITÉ
IMPORTANTES
MISE EN GARDE : Pour éviter toute blessure, il faudrait
observer des précautions élémentaires de sécurité, y
compris les suivantes :
1. LIRE ET RESPECTER TOUTES LES
CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ
avant usage et tous les avis importants apparaissant sur
l’appareil. Manquer à ces précautions pourrait entraîner
la perte de poissons ou des dommages à l’appareil.
2. DANGER – Pour éviter tout risque d’électrocution, une
attention spéciale devrait être portée puisque de l’eau
est utilisée avec l’équipement de bassin. Dans chacune
des situations suivantes, ne pas essayer de réparer
l’appareil soi-même; le retourner plutôt au magasin
où il a été acheté s’il est encore sous garantie. Le
transformateur doit être alimenté par un circuit protégé
par un disjoncteur de fuite à la terre recouvert d’un
couvercle de prise encastré et identifié pour usage dans
les endroits humides.
A. Si l’appareil montre un signe de fuite de courant
anormale ou si le disjoncteur de fuite à la terre ou le
dispositif différentiel s’éteint, débrancher le cordon
électrique de l’alimentation principale et retirer
l’appareil de l’eau.
B. Examiner attentivement l’appareil après l’installation. Il
ne devrait pas être branché en présence d’eau sur des
pièces ne devant pas être mouillées.
C. Ne pas faire fonctionner un appareil dont la fiche
ou le cordon est endommagé, qui ne fonctionne pas
correctement ou qui est tombé ou a été endommagé
d’une quelconque manière. Le cordon d’alimentation de
cet appareil ne peut pas être remplacé; si le cordon est
endommagé, il faut jeter l’appareil. Ne jamais couper le
cordon.
3. Il est nécessaire de surveiller étroitement les enfants
qui utilisent cet appareil ou qui se trouvent à proximité.
4. ATTENTION – Toujours débrancher tous les appareils
dans le bassin avant de mettre les mains dans l’eau,
avant d’insérer ou de retirer des pièces et pendant
que le matériel est installé, entretenu ou manipulé.
Au moment d’installer les lampes ou de les retirer de
l’eau, il faut toujours débrancher l’appareil. Ne jamais
tirer sur le cordon d’alimentation pour débrancher
l’appareil, mais plutôt prendre la fiche entre les doigts
et tirer. Toujours débrancher un appareil quand il n’est
pas utilisé. Ne jamais soulever l’appareil par le cordon
électrique.
5. ATTENTION – Cet appareil est un système d’éclairage
pour bassin. Il a été évalué pour usage en eau douce
ou hors de l’eau seulement. Ne pas l’employer pour un
usage autre que celui prévu (c.-à-d. ne pas l’utiliser
dans des piscines, etc.). L’emploi de fixations ni
recommandées ni vendues par le fabricant de l’appareil
peut être source de situations dangereuses.
• NE PAS utiliser dans de l’eau où on peut nager,
barboter, être immergé ou se baigner.
• Les lampes conviennent à un usage dans l’eau dont la
température ne dépasse pas 35 ºC (95 ºF).
• Ne pas se servir des lampes avec des liquides
inflammables ou potables.
6. Ne pas installer ni ranger l’appareil où il sera exposé
à des températures sous le point de congélation.
Ranger l’appareil à l’intérieur. Protéger les lampes
et le transformateur de la lumière directe du soleil.
Les matériaux en plastique ont une haute stabilité à
la lumière du soleil, mais les rayons directs peuvent
accélérer leur usure.
7. IMPORTANT – Fournir l’électricité à l’aide d’un
disjoncteur de fuite à la terre ou d’un dispositif
différentiel ayant un courant résiduel ne dépassant pas
30 mA.
CONSERVER CES INSTRUCTIONS
Respecter les directives relatives à l’installation, à
l’électricité et à l’entretien pour assurer une utilisation
sécuritaire et efficace de l’appareil. Un circuit à basse
tension doit être alimenté par un transformateur identifié
pour usage avec des luminaires submersibles.
