The LTM-FFP is a portable Analog/DV signal converter designed primarily for field use with DV
edit systems. The primary function of the LTM-FFP is to download analog component, YC and
Composite video signals to DV. The unit also handles balanced audio to DV. A composite video
monitoring output is provided for both monitoring and DV decoding playback. Unbalanced
audio out is provided on a stereo mini 3.5mm connector jack, also for monitoring or decoding
DV playback.

Component Video: Plug the proper component signals into the marked connec-
tors(R-Y, B-Y, Y). In component mode, a composite video signal synchronous to the
component signals must be fed to the REF BNC connector. This signal is required in
order for the component system to work. The video out signal of the component VTR
may be used for this.
Set the rear panel toggle switch to the UP position. This switch is a locking switch
and must be pulled slightly forward then moved up or down.
The front panel status LEDs power up default is DV mode. To switch to analog, push
the analog switch under the YUV-YC LEDs twice. This sets the LTM-FFP in component
Mode.
YC (S-video): Plug the proper 4pin Din into the YC input connector. Place the
rear panel toggle switch in DOWN position. Press the front panel analog switch
twice until YC/YUV LED illuminates.
NOTE: You cannot plug the YC and Component into the unit at the same time with
live signals. Do not leave the rear panel toggle switch in the incorrect mode
this will cause improper signals to be encoded.
Composite Video: Connect video signal to the BNC input connector. Press the ana-
log switch once till the CV LED illuminates.
NOTE: If ever the unit seems locked out of a particular mode: The DV button will
reset the system. Simply push the DV button and then return to analog pro-
cedures by pressing the ANALOG button. The video out BNC is always active.
It will display the incoming video during analog-DV modes and will show
the decoded video during DV to analog playback.

CONVERTING ANALOG TODV

AUDIO INPUT: Connect the proper balanced audio signals to the XLR input connectors. Be
certain that the audio level does not exceed O dB(1.023Vpp). Excessive levels will cause dis-
tortion in your system. Select the required audio encode speed(32K or 48K) using the front
panel AUDIO ENCODE pushbutton. NOTE: this function does not operate during DV-Analog
mode.
AUDIO OUTPUT: An unbalanced 3.5mm Stereo MiniJack is provided for audio out during DV
to ANALOG modes. This output can be used for recording or monitoring purposes. The output
is line level at 0dB(1.023Vpp) into 10k Ohms.
PAL-NTSC: To switch to a different video standard: PAL/NTSC pull and toggle the front panel
switch to the desired position, then power off the unit and turn it back on. This will set the
FFP in the selected video standard mode.
OPERATING POWER: The LTM-FFP operates on a 12 VOLT DC power system. Any regulated
12Volt power source may be used. The unit is supplied with 2 power options. An included uni-
versal 110/220V 50/60Hz ac power pack is provided for use with wall power in any country. A
battery adaptor compatible to NP-1 12 Volt batteries is also provided. The LTM-FFP has a 4pin
XLR power input compatible to Anton Bauer, Cine Systems power systems. Automobile 12Volt
power systems may also be used. On board regulation allows voltage ranges from 9-15Volts
DC at 1.2Amps of current consumption.
