1Safety Information
Lack of attention in road traffic can lead to serious or fatal accidents. Therefore, do not allow
yourself to be distracted from the current traffic situation when using the device.
Make sure that the vehicle's parameters are set correctly on the device, especially if they
have been configured by third parties or if the device is used in different vehicles.
The map data may be subject to restrictions for some route suggestions. When driving the
vehicle, follow the instructions on road signs and the applicable general road traffic
regulations at all times. Also pay attention to current road conditions. You bear full
responsibility for driving the vehicle correctly at all times.
Familiarize yourself with the legal rights and obligations regarding privacy and comply with
them. This applies in particular when using device-internal or connected cameras.
The control panel and battery should not be thrown into fire or used in areas where the
temperature exceeds the values specified below. Otherwise, this may cause a fire to break
out or the battery to explode. In addition, this could cause the battery to leak and severely
affect its functionality or render the control panel unusable.
If you notice that the temperature of the device is getting unusually high while charging the
battery or using the control panel, please stop charging or using the device to prevent the
battery from overheating.
Do not charge the battery continuously for more than 24 hours.
No warranty is provided if these safety precautions are not observed.
Please charge and discharge the device in one cycle at room temperature if you have
previously stored the device for half a year or more.
Do not attempt to repair, modify or disassemble the device, as this may lead to dangerous
situations with the risk of property damage and personal injury.
Do not use under extreme conditions such as too high or too low temperatures, too high
humidity, in humid environments or near magnetic fields.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Use only accessories approved by the manufacturer
to avoid damage to the product with possible loss of warranty.
The permissible ambient temperature is -10°C to +60°C.

2Intended Application
LARDIS:ONE is a car touch control panel with a 7-inch screen for radio control and
navigation, for use in a closed vehicle interior.
The product is aimed at I&C personnel in the area of authorities and organizations with
security tasks.
For controlling the radio, LARDIS:ONE is connected directly to the radio via the PEI. The
radio-specific connection must be established as described in chapter 7.
The radio’s audio input/output is handled via the radio manufacturer's accessory
components or via suitable third-party products.

6Power Supply Connection
The supply voltage is fed to the radio connection line [D]. This is to be connected as follows:
Black wire = vehicle ground (terminal 31). It is essential to ensure that the
potential corresponds to the ground potential of the radio and all optional accessory
components (such as rear-view camera, POCSAG receiver, etc.).
Red wire = suitable +12V / +24V on-board voltage (terminal 30) for operation
of the control unit and charging of the integrated battery. It is essential to ensure
that this supply voltage is also switched on as soon as the connected radio is in the
switched-on state. Otherwise, incoming status messages cannot be displayed, and
the radio cannot be operated.
Green wire = ignition (terminal 15) or corresponding control signal depending on
the desired functionality in the vehicle. When this control line is switched off, the
display of the control unit is also switched off, but the serial communication to the
radio is maintained. After switching on this control line again, the display is switched
on again.
The on-board power supply line for the control panel must be protected by an external 3-
amp fuse.

7.2 SEPURA SRG 3900 or SCG 22
For SEPURA SRG 3900 or SCG 22, the included adapter cable [E] is also attached to the
connection cable and this is then connected to the Console Interface (CI) of the radio.
Additional notes on the optional use of SEPURA CIB:
If SEPURA Console Interface Boxes (CIB) will be used to extend the Console Interface (CI) on
the S/E block, the following must be observed:
Each of the two CI ports on the S/E block side has one serial head interface (called CONSOLE
by Sepura) and one serial data interface (called RS232 by Sepura). Here, the serial data
interface of the Console Interface configured in the radio is used to transmit the ETSI PEI
commands. The PEI connector of the LARDIS ONE connection cable must be plugged into this
CI.
If two accessory devices are connected to a shared CI on the S/E block via a CIB, only one
device may use the head interface and the other the data interface. If both devices use the

same interface (i.e. both the head interface or both the data interface), data collisions will
occur and thus there will be no proper function.
The following components occupy the following interfaces:

LARDIS ONE connection cable (LAR-1109 or
LAR-1115)
External SIM card reader
In summary, only one component from the left column and one component from the right
column may be connected to a CIB at the same time. Otherwise no function is given.

7.3 MOTOROLA MTM800 FuG / MTM800 E (via LAR-1116 / -1117)
For devices MTM800 FuG / MTM5400 or MTM800 E, the connection cable is additionally
extended by the adapter cable, which is available as an additional special accessory (LAR-
1116 or LAR-1117), and this is then connected to the rear accessory connection socket of the
radio.

8Rear View Camera Connection
The video signal of the rear-view camera is connected to the cable set of the cradle [B] using
the included RCA adapter cable. The video input supports FBAS PAL.
The parallel hollow connector is originally intended to supply the rear-view camera. The
operating voltage present there is provided via the control panel. We recommend that you
do not use this connector to supply the camera, but to fuse and supply it separately.
The yellow stranded wire, which is led out of the wiring set of the cradle, is used to switch
between the navigation/radio view and the rear-view camera. When a positive switching
voltage is applied, the display toggles to the rear-view camera. When the switching voltage is
turned off, the display returns to the navigation view or the radio control view.
The parallel black stranded wire is an additional ground reference point to the trigger line,
which does not necessarily have to be connected, since this is potential-equal with the
terminal 31 supply connection in the line set.

9POCSAG Radio Message Receiver
Connection
Radio message receivers can be connected with a
serial RS232 DCE connection (9-pin D-Sub female) or a
USB-A connection.
The connected radio message receiver has to transmit the message text already decoded via
the respective interface on reception.
For connection, the included OTG adapter [F] has to be plugged into the mini-USB socket on
the side of the cradle. The socket is located on the left side, directly next to the outlet of the
cable set. The OTG adapter provides a USB-A host socket for connecting USB add-on
components.

10 Connection of External Control Elements
Up to three external pushbutton or switching elements can be connected. The control
elements must be potential-free make contacts.
For this, the two optionally available components level converter LAR-1163 and GPIO button
adapter LAR-1164 are required.
The corresponding USB plug is connected as previously described in chapter 9.
Various functionalities can be assigned to the inputs SW_IN1 to SW_IN3 using the program
LARDIS ONE Setup.
