•INSTALLATION SHOULD ONLY BECONDUCTED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEC AND ANY
RELEVANT LOCAL BUILDING CODES.
•RISK OFFIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK. FIXTURE INSTALLATION REQUIRES KNOWLEDGE OF FIXTURE'S ELECTRICAL

•TO PREVENT WIRING DAMAGE OR ABRASION, DO NOT EXPOSE WIRING TO EDGES OF SHEET METAL OR SHARP
OBJECTS. SUITABLE FOR DAMP LOCATIONS.

CODE AND ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL CODES. PROPER GROUNDING IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY.

•MAKE SURE THE SUPPLY VOLTAGE IS WITHIN THE VOLTAGE RATING.
•ENSURE THE MARKED T RATING IS LESS THAN THE IGNITION TEMPERATURE OF THE HAZARDOUS
ATMOSPHERE.
•DO NOT OPERATE IN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES ABOVE THOSE INDICATED ON THE PRODUCT
NAMEPLATE.
•DO NOT OPERATE IF THE LENS, CORD, SEALS, HOUSING, RECEPTACLES, ETC. IS CRACKED OR
DAMAGED. IF SO, DISCONTINUE USE AND CONTACT MANUFACTURER FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS.
•ALL FASTENERS SHOULD BE PROPERLY SEATED.
The EPL-AED-1X-4IN-GL from Larson Electronics is an Explosion Proof Device Box Instrument Enclosure that houses
compact instruments or devices used in hazardous locations, confined spaces and industrial facilities. The EPL-
AED-1X-4IN-GL is Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups A, B, C, D, Class I, Zones 1 & 2, Groups IIB+H2, IIA, Class II,
Divisions 1 & 2, Groups E, F ,G and Class III Divisions 1 & 2 rated for hazardous areas and is listed for use worldwide
including the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. This explosion proof instrument enclosure may be used to comply
with domenstic and international code requirements, while providing protection for operators and nearby workers.

INSTALLATION
•Unpack enclosure.
•To remove cover, loosen set screw on side of enclosure and rotate cover
counter-clockwise.
•Thread conduit through NPT ports.
•Mount box with suitable hardware using the trunnion mount.
•See diagrams for additional information.
Approvals allow for field modifications on box for drilling and tapping conduit
openings on side or back of enclosure without voiding UL-CSA-FM approvals.

MAINTENANCE
Electrical and mechanical inspection of all components must be performed on a regularly scheduled basic, determined by the
environment and frequency of use.It is recommended that inspection be performed a minimum of once a year.
USE AND CARE
Unauthorized modification may impair the function and/or safety of this device and could affect the life of the equipment.
Always check for damaged or worn out parts before using the device. Store it in a secure place out of the reach of
children when not in use.Inspect for good working condition prior to storage and before re-use.
