The PORTA-CATportableair cleaner
collects
smoke
and
dust
directlyatthesource.
Thedirty
airispulledthrough
theswingarmentering
the
system
through
theexclusiveparabolically-
designed
Para-vent@
source
capturehood.
As
shown
below,
pollutants
aredrawnthrough
the
externally
supported
swingarm,directingthe
dirty airverticallydownward
into thecabinet
plenum.
Before
entering
thefirst filtration stage,
thedirty air makes
a 180o
turn creatinganupward
airflow pattern.
Thechangein airflow direction
causes
drop-out
of heavier
solidparticles
into the
removable
dustdrawer.
The dirty air is then
pulledthrough
thefirst filtration stagewherea4"
pleated
prefilter ratedat 35Vo
effrciencyxremoves
smaller
particles.
At thesecondfiltration stage,
a
29" deep
extended
surface
bagfilter ratedat 95Vo
efficiency*collects
smaller
and
submicron
particles.
Clean

' For easeof transportand

friction pads
andholdinghardwaretightened
securely.After installation,
friction pads
should
beadjustedto hold the armin desired
position
without sagging,
yet allow smoothmovement
from position
to positionwith minimal operator
effort.A wrenchis requiredfor tension
adjustmentof thefriction pads.
Movementshould
begradual,yetfirm.
CAUTION: Avoid over tightening of pivot
sectionsand sharp pulling of the swing arm
or Para-venthood - unit tipping or damage
to the arm components could result.
Electrical: ThePORTA-CAI is providedwith a
l0'power cord.The ll5/L/60 unithasa
power
cord with standard

Getting
started

Usethefull width bar-type

Lock rearwheelcasterson theunit to secure
inplace.
Plugtheunit into aproperlygrounded
electrical
receptacle.
Turntheunit onby pushing
thetoggleswitch
to the"on" position.
On three-phaseunits,
fanrotationwill needto beverifiedby
matching
fanrotation
with the"rotation"
decalontheblowerhousing.Rotation
should
beclockwiseasviewedfrom themotorside.
Any two motor starterleadsshouldbe
reversedif therotation
is not correct.
Thefilter monitor gauge
shouldreadbetween
0.5"and0.75"w.g.
whileunit isoperating
with cleanfilters.

Closethedoor,reconnect

warrants all equipment manufactured and sold by UASagainst defective parts and
workmanship for one yearfrom date of shipment to Purchaser,exceptthat commercial or
non-industrial air cleaners (other than engineered systems) are warranted for three years
from such date. This warranty is subject to the limitations in UAS'standard terms and
conditions provided to Purchaser.
Anyunauthorized repairs or modifications or abnormal
use or misuse of equipment will void all warranties. In no casewill UAS'
responsibility or
warranty extend to equipment not manufactured by UAS.

IS EXCLUSIVEAND IN LIEUOF ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES,

As Purchaser's exclusive remedy for any defects in the equipment, UAS
will exchange or
repair any defective parts during the warranty period, provided such parts are returned,
prepaid, to UAS'factory. The obligation of UAS
is limited to furnishing replacement parts

UAS'factory or making repairs at UAS'factory of any parts which are determined,
upon inspection byUAS,to be defective.UAS
is not responsible for labor or transportation
chargesfor the removal, reshipment or reinstallation of the parts.
