2. MOUNTINGTHESPIGOT

Aspigotissuppliedinstandarddeliveryforyoutotripod‐mountyourfollowspot.

•Makesurethetripodyouaregoingtousefeaturesatopapertureover28mmdia.
•RemovetheM12nutandthewasherfromthespigot.
•Insertthespigotinthecentralholeoftheyokeofthefollowspotfrombeneaththeyoke.
•AddtheplainscrewandtheM12self‐lockingnutandtightenthenutwithasuitabletool.
•Mountthefollowspotonthetripod.Makesurethestructureyouarefixingtheproductto
canwithstandtheproductload(seeabovelistandproductlabel).




3. MOUNTINGTHECOLOURCHANGER(accessory,partnr.20105106)

Thissectiononlyappliesincaseyouboughtthefollowspotandthecolourchanger
separately.
•Mountcolourfiltersonthecolourchangerunits.Seerelevantinstructionssuppliedwith
thecolourchanger.
•Atthefrontofthefollowspot,slackenthe3cross‐headblackM4screws(twoatthetop
angles,oneatthebottom,left‐handsideangle)sothattheyremaininserted
approximatelyhalf‐waythrough.
•Positionthecolourchangerunitonthefrontplateofthefollowspot,makingsurethatthe
colourleversarepositionedontheright‐handsideofthefollowspotwhenviewedfrom
behindandhangittothepreviouslypositionedscrews.
•Releasethecolourfiltersofthecolourchangerbypressingtheblack,flatleverinorderto
haveaccesstothescrews
•InsertaPhillipsscrewsdriveratleast12cmlongineachoneoftheholesprovidedatthe
frontofthecolourchangerandtighteneachscrew
•Ensurethecolourchangerunitissecure,andallthreescrewsaretight.


4. MOUNTINGTHEIRISDIAPHRAGM

Theirisdiaphragmsuppliedwiththefollowspothas20leavestosizethebeamfromamaximum
apertureof68mmtoaminimumof5mm.Ablack‐outirisdiaphragmisavailabletospecialorder.

•UsingaPhillipsscrew‐driverremovethetwocross‐headscrewsfromthesidesoftheiris
plate.
•Slidethediaphragminthegatearea.
•Tightenthescrews.

Importantnotice:donotleavetheirisclosedforover5minuteswhilethelampison

Usethefrontdowserto“cutoff”thelightshouldyourequiretohavethelamponwithnobeam
projectingonthestage.


6. ADJUSTINGTHEYOKE

Thisfollowspotisprovidedwithayokebalancingadjustment.Thebalancingpointisfactorysetfor
thestandardproductconfigurationsupplied(withoutcolourchangerforstandardunits,with
colourchangerforthekitversion).However,shouldyouneedtoadjustthebalancing,please
followtheprocedurebelow:

•Thefollowspotmustbemountedonthetripodstandwithallrelevantaccessories
attached.
•UsingaPhillipsscrewdriver,loosenthe2M5screwsoneachsideoftheyoke.
•Gentlyslidethefollowspotbackwardsorforwardstotherequiredposition.
•Makesuretheyokeiscorrectlyalignedhorizontally.
•Tightenthe4M5screws


7. WIRING

Beforebeingconnectedtothemainpower,thisunitmayneedtobewiredwithasuitableplugif
notalreadyinstalled.Makesuretheplugyouareusingisratedfortheproperpowerload.

•Makesuretheplugyouarefittingwithstandsthelamppowerload.
•Thisfixturemustbegrounded
•Toperformacorrectwiring,pleasenotethatthecoresinthismainsleadarecolour‐codedas
follows:
Ground:green+yellow–Neutral:blue‐Hot:brown

Incasethecoloursofthewiresdonotcorrespondtothecolouroftheconnectionpointson
yourplug,pleaseproceedasfollows:


Alwaysdisconnectthefollow‐spotfromthepowersupplybeforeinstallingthelamp.
TheCanto1200MSRFFcanbeoperatedonlywith:

•Makesuretheunitiscoldanddisconnectedfromthepowersource.
•Ifreplacingalampuseaproperthermalprotectionforyourhands(ex.gloves)incasethe
lampisstillhot.
•Protectthelampfromabrasionandscratches.Donotinstalloruseacrackedorbroken
lamp.Incasealampcracksorbreaks,disconnectfromthepowersupply,allowtheunitto
coolandremove/replacethebrokenlamp.
•Nevertouchthelampbulbwithbarehands.Oilandgreasecancontaminatethequartz
surfaceandreducethelampperformanceandlifeofthelamp.
•Donotremovetheplasticprotectionaroundthelampuntilafterhavinginstalledthelamp.
•Usingaplainscrewdriveropenthelamp‐holderpanelpositionedontheleft‐handsideof
thelamphousebyturning(counterclockwise)thetwo¼turnfasteners.
•Removethepanel.
•Removethelamp(ifoperatingareplacement)byholdingtheceramicbaseandturningit
untilthelampisdislodged
•Placethenewlampinbyholdingtheceramicbaseandturningituntilthebaseislockedin
position.
•Re‐positionthelampholderpanelbyturningclockwisethetwo¼turnfasteners

LDRdeclinesanyresponsibilityonpoorperformanceoftheunitordamagestotheinner
componentsincaseanoncompatiblelampisused.


12. LAMPINGTHEFOLLOWSPOT

•PlugthefollowspottotheelectronicPSU.Pleasenotethateachfollowspothasbeen
factorytestedwithrelevantPSU.Bothunitsarerecognizedbyaserialnumber(onthe
outerbox,ontheunitsandonthefrontcoveroftheinstructionmanual).Makesureyou
matcheachfollowspottotherelevantPSU.
•ConnectthePSUtoyour120voltpowersupply.
•Turntotheright(1/4turn)theon/offselectoronthePSU(fanswillstartworking).
•AREDLIGHTcomesupfrominsidetheballast(visiblefromtheventilationslotsbesidethe
on/offselector
•WAITUNTILTHEREDLIGHTTURNSGREEN(3/5seconds)
•Turntotheright(1/4turn)theon/offselectorpositionedatthebackoftheluminaire
(lampison).

Thelampwillonlyswitchononcethegreenlightintheballastison


13. LAMPALIGNMENT

Foranoptimumperformanceofthefollowspot,lampalignmentmustbecheckedandperformed
eachtimeanewlampisfittedoranoldlampisreplaced.Pleaseproceedasfollows:

•Switchontheunitandprojectthebeamonaflatsurface(awall,forexample)atashort
distance(0,5mapproximately).
•Completelyde‐focusthezoomsothatyoucanseethelamporitsfilamentsprojectedon
thesurface.
•Closethedowsertoaslightlybiggersizethantheheightofthelamp.Youshouldobtaina
circleoflightincludingtheprojectionofthelamp.
•Ifthelampisnotexactlycenteredinthecircle,setthealignmentbyloosening/tightening
eachoneofthechromeM4screwspositionedontheleft‐handsideofthelamp‐house
nearthelamp‐holderpanel.

CAUTION:adjustthescrewsveryslowlyinordernottocausethelampbulbtotouchany
ofthecomponentsoftheopticalsystemasthiswouldcauseboththelampandthelenses
toexplode.

14.  FOCUSING

Thisfixturefeaturesavariablebeamanglefrom8°to22°.Thevariablebeamismodifiedby
adjustingthefrontandrearzoomlensesinrelationtoeachother.
Thefrontlensdefinesthebeamspread,therearlensdefinesthefocusdegreeof‘softness’or
‘hardness’ofthebeamedgeorshutters.


15.  BLACK‐OUTMECHANICALDIMMER(DOWSER)

Yourfollowspotisfittedwithanadjustablemechanicaldimmer(dowser)todimandfinallyblack‐
outthelight.Theblack‐outmechanicaldimmerislocatedinbetweenthetwozoomlens‐groups.


16.  CLEANINGANDMAINTENANCE

Toensuremaximumperformanceoftheproduct,aregularmaintenanceserviceshouldbecarried
out.Pleasemakesuretheproductiscoldanddisconnectedfrompowersupplywhendoingthis.

Generalmaintenance
*Cleanallreflectivepartssuchasreflectors,mirrorsandlensesopeningtheproduct,ifnecessary.
*Checkthelampandthelensesandreplaceanyvisiblydamagedcomponent.
*Cleanairductsandfansinordertoallowproperventilationactivityontheproduct.
*Checkinternalandexternalwiringandreplaceanycablewhichshouldbedamagedbyheator
mechanicalagents.


•Lamphouselenses:
•OpenthelenscompartmentdoorbyremovingthetwoM4crossheadscrewsonthe
topofthelamphousetube.
•Removethelens/mirrorassembledblockbyremovingthetwoM5crossheadscrews.
