Basic safety precautions should always be followed when using this appliance.
1. Read these instructions thoroughly before use.
2. This appliance should not be used by children. Close supervision is necessary when using
this appliance near children.
3. Do NOT leave mill unattended when in use.
4. Do NOT use in damp or wet conditions.
5. For indoor use only.
6. To protect against electrical shock, do not place cord, plug or appliance in water or other
liquid.
7. Unplug from outlet when not in use or when moving or disassembling. Always unplug
using the plug and not by pulling on the cord.
8. Never connect or disconnect plug with wet hands.
9. Do NOT operate our mill with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance is damaged
or malfunctions in any way. Call our toll-free customer service number for information
regarding returning or replacing the mill. There are no user serviceable parts in this
appliance.
10. Do NOT allow the cord to hang over the edge of the table or counter or come in contact
with hot surfaces.
11. Only use mill on a solid, level surface.
12. Do NOT allow appliance to rest on the power cord.
13. Maintain a ventilation clearance of four inches on all sides of the mill.
14. If mill stops, or if there is excessive noise, turn power o, unplug from electrical outlet,
disassemble, clean all components then reassemble machine. Discontinue use and call
our toll-free customer service number if cleaning does not resolve these issues.
15. Keep ngers and other objects away from chute.
16. Do NOT push grains into chute.
17. Do NOT store your mill if any part of it is wet or damp.
18. Do NOT grind damp grains.
19. Only grind approved grains, as described later in this manual. Grinding unapproved
grains may impact the performance of your mill and/or void the warranty.

BEFORE USING THE FIRST TIME
1. Remove all parts from the box.
2. Purge the mill by grinding 2 cups of grain or rice and discarding.
3. Disassemble and brush out the mill following the instructions in the
Disassembly and Cleaning section of this manual.

HOW TO USE
Your Lee Flour Mill is a gravity fed mill with a nine position control lever
to change the consistency of the grind from coarse to ne. The dust cover
reduces air-borne particles of your newly ground our. The mill is equipped
with a safety feature to automatically cut the motor in the event that
overheating occurs. If this happens, switch the power to OFF, unplug the mill
and give the motor 15 minutes to cool down before resuming use.

3-PRONG PLUG
This appliance has a 3-prong (grounding) plug for use in a 3-prong (grounding)
outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock. This appliance should only
be used with a 120V, 60Hz grounded outlet. Failure to follow these instructions
could result in re, electrical shock, serious injury, or death.
If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, contact a qualied electrician to install
a 3-prong (grounding) outlet. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. Do
not use an adapter or an extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions

most dry grains such as wheat and buckwheat. For more information on

It is important to clean the mill after every usage in order to keep the mill
in good working order and to avoid rancidity. Refer to the diagram on the
following page to become familiar with the parts of the mill and then follow
the step-by-step instructions for disassembly.
DISASSEMBLY
GRAIN GRINDING
IMPORTANT: NEVER MILL GRAINS THAT HAVE A HIGH OIL OR MOISTURE CONTENT.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MILL WET OR DAMP PRODUCTS. DO NOT REGRIND FLOUR.
HARD VARIETIES OF GRAIN MAY CAUSE THE MILL HOUSING TO BECOME VERY WARM
DURING NORMAL USE.
1. Using the disassembly tool or athead screwdriver, remove the two screws that
hold the front cover on the mill housing.
2. Remove the front cover and plate.
3. Grasp the quick coupler and pull straight out.
4. Pull out the governor and disk assembly.
WARNING: TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, ALWAYS SWITCH THE UNIT TO
OFF AND REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE
DISASSEMBLING THE MILL.

dry.
5. Thoroughly dry all parts before reassembling the mill.
Reassemble the mill following the disassembly instructions in reverse order.

TROUBLESHOOTING
RESOLUTION

setting. Adjust mill to a coarser texture.
Governor not opening because it is
clogged with flour.
Clean the governor thoroughly. You can test the governor by
manually depressing valve. Valve should move freely with finger
pressure and return with spring pressure.
Bowl is full.
Bowl cover clogged (air must be able
to pass through the mesh).
Mill reassembled when wet.
Empty collection bowl.
Clean bowl cover by brushing o any caked flour on the inside, or
any blockage on top of the cover.
Thoroughly air dry all parts prior to use.
Governor is clogged with flour. Test governor by manually depressing valve and clean thoroughly.
This is normal. Remove bowl before removing front cover; this will help avoid
mixing un-milled grains with flour.

To keep temperatures low, increase coarseness, mill smaller
batches or freeze grain prior to milling.
To reduce dust, wait for the rotating disk to stop before removing
bowl cover – you’ll see the cover decompress. You can also tap the
bowl cover to remove any flour that may be caked on the under-
side of it.
