Using the Remote Control
Using the remote control
Point the remotecontrol directly at the remote sensor
on the frontof the DVD Player.

Installing the battery
1. Open thebattery compartment cover using a coin.
3. Replace thebattery compartment cover and turn clockwise
until it stops.
2. Insert a3V lithium battery into the battery compartment with
the polarity (+ ) facing up as marked.

Connecting Earphones (Optional Accessory)
You can attach an earphone with a stereo mini-jack plug to the phone jack ( ) for private listening. The volume can be adjusted
using VOL + and VOL - on the remote control or using the VOLUME control dial on the Player .
Note: When the earphone is connected to the Phone Jack ( ), the speaker will be disconnected.
*Earphone is an optional accessory

1. Turnoff the DVD player and TV.
2. Connect theaudio and video cables as illustrated.
3. Turnon the DVD player and TV.
4. On TV, select the corresponding Video input which is connected to the DVDplayer.
You can enjoy DVD quality video on a TV screen by connecting theoutput of the Player to yourTV.

Using USB Port

Connecting a USB device
1. Plug inthe USB device to the USB port on the Player.
2. Repeatedly pressSOURCE to select USB mode.
Removing a USB device
You can remove the USB device anytime even when itis playing. Toremove the USB device, simply grasp the end of the USB and
remove it fromthe slot.
Playing a USB device
The Player accepts mostUSB devices such as MP3, DSC, USB- drive, Digital Camcorder etc. The USB in this Player supports
version 1.1/2.0.
1. If thereis a disc in the Player, repeatedly press SOURCE to select the USB mode. The Player starts playing from the first file.
2. To play otherfiles press MENU/PBC to bring up the file directory, then usethe direction keys ( and )to select and press
to play.
Note:
If you havedifferent file types (photo, music, video) in the USB, make sure you have selected to display allfile types (see " Displaying
and Sorting Files")otherwise, some file types may not be displayed.

Using the AC Adaptor
Important !
Always turn off the DVDPlayer before connecting or disconnecting the AC cord.
. Using adifferent type of adaptor may cause malfunction or damage to the product.Only use theAC adaptor supplied with this player
When theAC adaptor is used for a prolonged period of time, the adaptor may heat up, this is normaland is not a cause for concern.
When not usingthe adaptor, unplug it from the outlet.
This portable DVDplayer can be powered by AC through the supplied switching power AC adaptor. It canalso use the
supplied battery pack.
When theAC adaptor is connected to the unit and powered, the unit will be automatically disconnectedelectrically from the
battery pack andpowered by the AC power.

1. During charging,the red and green LEDs blink alternatively.
2. When thebattery is fully charged, the green LED stays lit .
3. When thePlayer uses battery for power, steady green LED lights. If the battery
power is low, the greenLED blinks.

This PLAYER has abuilt-in rechargeable battery, follow thesesteps to recharge.
1. Connect theA.C adaptor as illustrated.
2. Slide POWER to OFF. ( The Player mustbe turned off to charge the battery).
3. The charging starts, andwhen it is fully charged, the charging stops automatically.

Playing a Disc
1. Make surethe Player has the power either from the battery
or theAC adaptor.
2. Load adisc, following these steps:
Open the topcover.
Press the OPEN button to openthe disc cover.
Place a discinto the tray with the label side facing up.
Close the disccover.
3. Slide POWER to ON to turn onthe power.
Preparation for Playback
1. Press onthe player to temporarily stop the playback, " "
appears on thescreen.
2. Press againto stop the playback.

You can skip chapters on DVD-Video, tracks on CDs, and
Video CDs.
1. To skip forward,press during play,it skips to the next
chapter or track.Each press increases the number of skips.
2. To skip tothe previous chapteror track, press .

1. During playback,to fast forward,repeatedly press to
increase the fastforward speed 2x,4x, 8x, 16x,32x.
2. During playback,to fast rewind,repeatedly press to
increase the fastreverse speed 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x.
3. To resume normalplayback, press .

Press (on theremote control) or (on the player)to
start play.

There are twoways to resume playback when interrupted.
Method 1. -- for shorttime interruption
1. Press STOP ( ), thePlayer remembers where you stopped.
Method 2. -- for longtime interruption
2. To resume, press , the Playerwill play from where you
stopped.
Press VOL+ or VOL- (on the remotecontrol) to change volume
and you canalso use the VOLUME control dial on the Player
to change volume.
1. During playback,press (on theremote) or (onthe
player) to pause.
2. Press (onthe remote) or (on the player)to resume
playback.

1. Enable thelast memory in the setup menu.
2. Press OPENto open the disc compartment door while the
Player is playing.
3. You can turnoff the power, and even remove the disc from
the desk, whenyou turn on the power and replace the disc,
the Player willplay from the point when the door was
opened.

Playing a Disc
1.During playback,repeatedly press SLOW to play at 1/2, 1/4,
1/8, 1/16 speeds.
2.To resume normalplayback, press .
You can only perform slow motion play in forward playback.

Mark (Bookmark)
GOTO
You can go directly to a desired chapter and play, or playat a
desired point oftime. Follow these steps:
(A)Toplay a specific chapter
1. Press GOTO, use toselect title (TT) and chapter (CH)
and enter thedesired number.
2. Press ENTER to confirm andstart play.
The Mark functionlets you "bookmark" points on the disc for
playback at alater time. You can store up to 12 bookmark
locations.
Follow these stepsto set up marker playback:
1. During playback,press MARK on the remote control.
2. Use toselect a bookmark location.
3. When youreach the scene you want to mark, press to
confirm.
4. Repeat theabove procedure for a new scene. You can have
up to 12bookmarks.
5.Toclear the bookmark already set up, find it first, then press
CLEAR.
You can perform marker playback at any time by pressing
MARK, and using to select oneof the bookmarks, then
pressing to startplaying the bookmarked scene. The
Playback continues untilthe end of the disc. Repeat the above
to play theother marked scenes.
(B)Toplay from a specific point of time.
1. Press GOTO twice to moveto the time display and it
changes 0:00:00.
2. Fill inthe time (hour: minute: second).
3. Press ENTER to confirm andstart play.
ZOOM
ZOOM lets you enlargethe video imageduring playback and
pan through theenlarged image.
1. Press ZOOM repeatedly during videoplayback to enlarge
the image tox2, x3, x4, x1/2, x1/3, x1/4 times of the normal
size.
2. Press ZOOM and repeatedly press or while displaying
JPEG file andPicture CD disc to zoom in the picture at 125%,
150% or 200%and zoom out the picture at 50% or 75%.
Use direction keys( and )to move around (pan and
scan) the enlargedvideo or picture.
You can play a chapter, a track, a title, a file or the entire disc
repeatedly.
1. During playback,repeatedly press REPEAT to choose a
Repeat option. Dependingon the typeof disc, theRepeat
options may bedifferent.
2. To cancel repeatplayback, repeatedly press REPEAT until
no message appearsat the upperleft corner of the display.

Mute
Press MUTE to silence theaudio, press MUTE again to restore
it.
Repeatedly press LANGUAGE during DVD playbackto change
the language ofthe voice if the disc has multiple languages.
This function isonly valid for DVDs.
LANGUAGE
Repeatedly press SUBTITLE during DVD playbackto change
the subtitle's languageIf the dischas multiple subtitle's
languages.
This function isonly valid for DVDs.
Subtitle
TITLE
Press TITLE, it takesyou to the very beginning of the title and
play, or to theMENU if it has a title menu.
DISPLAY
Repeatedly press DISPLAY during playback todisplay various
playback information suchas current title,chapter, track
elapsed time, languagesetc.
L/R
This function ismostly used for karaoke (sing along) discs, by
repeatedly pressing L/R,you can select STEREO, MONO
(Left), MONO (Right),MIX MONO etc.
P/N
This is usedwhen you connect the Player to a TV and watch
video on theTV. Repeatedly press P/N to select NTSC, PAL
and AUTO to matchthe system of your TV.
The LCD screendoes not have NTSC or PAL, so ifyou watch
video on thePlayer's screen, it is recommended to set it to
NTSC which willgive a better video quality. The player will
play both PAL orNTSC DVD's titles even when the Player is
set to NTSC.
Repeatedly press ANGLE during DVD playbackto change the
camera angle ifthe disc has different camera angles.
This function isonly valid for DVDs.

Displaying disc's MENU/PBC
During DVD playback,press MENU/PBC or SETUP/MENU
to return tothe disc's Start Menu. If the disc does not have the
Start Menu, ordiscs that refuse MENU function, appears.
For VCD playback,press MENU/PBC or SETUP/MENU to turn
on/off PBC (Playback Control). IfPBC is enabled, a menu of
scene's thumbnails willappear, youcan select a scene for
playback.
Displaying the OSD Setup Menu
1. On theremote control: press SETUP at any time to enter the
Setup menu.
2. On thePlayer: remove the USB flash drive and disc from the
Player, thenpress SETUP/MENU to enter Setup menu.

Playing MP3 and Regular Audio CD
Your MP3 files should be ISO 9660 or JOLIET format.

Play
In most cases,when an MP3 or audio disc is placed into the
player, thefirst song file of the first folder plays.
In other cases,the file manager appears. Use direction keys
( and ) to select the song file and press to play.

Playing Picture CD
The picture canbe rotated and flipped.
1.During playback,use the direction keys ( and ) to
rotate 90 degreesclockwise, 90 degrees counter clockwise,
flip vertically andhorizontally respectively.

The player canplay both a Kodak Picture CD that you order from
photo processing store,and a home-made CD by burning JPEG
files onto aCD-R or CD-RW disc.

Next/Previous
You can manually skip to the next picture by pressing , and
to skip tothe previous picture by pressing .
In most cases,after the disc is placed into the player, the first
file will beshown.
In other cases,the file manager appears. Use the direction keys
( and )to select the picture and press on the
Player or onthe remote control to start the slide show
( plays photosautomatically).
To return tothe file list, press MENU/PBC.To return to the
directory, press TITLE.
To display thumbnail,press " " during playback of images.
To start aslide show, press " " during playback of
images.

Press ZOOM.
Repeatedly press or to shrink orenlarge the image.
Use direction keys( )to move around (pan and scan)
the enlarged image.

You can make changeson the Player's settings such as OSD language, video output etc, followthese steps:
1. Press SETUP on the remotecontrol, a list of setup pages appears on top of the screen.
2. Use and to select theSetup Page, press ENTER to confirm.
3. Use and to move tothe Item you want to make changes, press ENTER to confirm.
4. Use and to select yourdesired settings, press ENTER to confirm.
5. To get outof the currentpage, press .

Troubleshooting
If your DVDplayer does not seem to be functioning properly, check the items below beforeyou contact aservice center.
Symptom Check
Power does notturn on
or suddenly turnsoff
Make sure theAC Powercord is securely plugged into an AC outlet.
Turn the power off and then back on.
Battery power doesnot turn on
or suddenly turnsoff
Check if thebattery is charged.If not, recharge it.
Remote control doesnot work Check if thebattery is insertedin the "+" and "-" directions properly.
Check if thebattery has power, if not,replace them with new batteries.
Check that thesignal transmission ispointing directly atthe remote controlsensor on the
DVD player.
Check that thedisc is aDVD, DVD-RW, VIDEO CD, or AUDIO CD.
Do not usea disc thathas scratches or dirt.
Check that thelabel-side of thedisc is facingup.
The pick-up lensof the DVDplayer might be dirty. Contact the service center for lens cleaning.
No picture
Disc does notplay
Check if theLCD on/off switch is stuck,and cannot movefreely when thetop cover is open.
No video outputfrom DVD
player
Check that thevideo or audiocable is securelyconnected.
Make sure theTV's video input is switched to DVD player.
