This gas fireplace heater is a natural con-
vection, heat circulating gas fireplace insert
designed for residential applications.This
heaterisdesigned to be installedintoan exist-
ingmasonry or factory built solid fuelburning
fireplace only - Masonry fireplace must be
built to UBC 37 or ULC S628 standards and
factory built(zeroclearance) fireplacemust be
listed to UL 127 or ULC S610. Units must use
a 4” listed B-Vent or listed liner (conforming
to UL 1777) from the appliance outlet to the
chimney termination. The venting system
must be routed through the existing fireplace
flue system to the vent termination.
Thismillivoltapplianceisdesignedtooper-
ate on natural gas or propane gas only.
A millivolt gas control valve with piezo igni-
tionsystemprovides safe, efficient operation.
External electrical poweris required to operate
the blower.
This appliance may be used with a thermo-
stat (see Optional Wall Thermostat). This
appliance is certified for use in bedrooms.
If installed in a bedroom in Canada, a ther-
mostat IS required.
This appliance requires an adequate supply
of combustion and ventilation air. As an
aid in determining whether or not these
requirements have been satisfied, follow the
procedure indicated in the section entitled
Spill Test Procedure (see page 16).
The millivolt appliance is manually con-
trolled and features a spark igniter (piezo)
that allows the appliance's pilot gas to be
lit without the use of matches or batteries.
This system provides continued service in
the event of a power outage.
This unit is factory set for use with Natural
Gas and will require a field conversion for use
with Propane (other fuels are NOT allowed).
The use of other fuels or combination of fuels
will degrade the performance of this system
and may be dangerous.

Installation must conform to local codes. In
the absence of local codes, installation must
comply with the current National Fuel Gas
Code, ANSI Z223.1. (In Canada, the current
CAN-1 B149 installation code.) Electrical
wiring must comply with the National Elec-
trical Code ANSI/ NFPA 70 - latest edition.
In Canada, the current CSA C22-1 Canadian
Electrical Code - latest edition.
