Important Information Before Use
This guide aims to help you use this produ t orre tly. Before installing and using this produ t for the first
time, please be sure to arefully read all the materials in luded with the produ t, espe ially the pre autions
mentioned in the safety Information Se tion and Other terms in this guide. This will help you better use this
produ t.
Computer Usage Precautions
• When the omputer is running, do not use a dust shield or dust loth to over the heat dissipation vents
on the top of the produ t to prevent hardware damage.
• Never open the housing of non-repairable parts, su h as the opti al drive and power adapter.
DANGER
Opening the optical drive or power adapter housing can cause electric shock, laser radiation, or
even explosion.
• Do not drop, bump, s rat h, twist, hit, vibrate, or push your omputer unit, monitor, or external devi es.
• If the omputer you pur hased has a wireless network ard, this ard may be in ompatible with outdated
routers, ausing onne tion failures. To solve this problem, we re ommend you onta t your router
manufa turer and request a firmware update.
• Lenovo is not responsible for third-party software and antivirus programs that use your omputer’s
amera, mi rophone, or other multimedia devi es to obtain private information (in luding images or audio)
through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and other methods of ommuni ation.
Optical Mouse Usage Precautions
An opti al mouse fun tions by emitting a strong red light through its LED, whi h is refle ted by the desktop
surfa e and enters the sensor. The sensor senses mi ro texture hanges in the desktop surfa e to al ulate
the dire tion and displa ement of the mouse movement. Therefore, the refle tive onditions of the desktop
have a signifi ant influen e on the performan e of the opti al mouse. The performan e of the opti al mouse
is degraded when used on the following types of surfa es ausing jitter, jumps, diffi ult movement, or even
omplete la k of fun tion:
• Surfa es that annot refle t light diffusely: su h as glass table tops, transparent table mats, and mirrors.
• Overly shiny surfa es: su h as metal surfa es and laminated magazine overs.
• Surfa es with strong dire tional textures: su h as brushed metal surfa es, wood surfa es with straight
grain, and tatami mats.
• Surfa es that are uniform at the mi ron level: su h as marble tabletops and artifi ial marble tabletops.
• Surfa es with pixel-level spe ifi ations and patterns: su h as oordinate paper, s reen-printed patterns,
and boards with artifi ial wood grain.
• Surfa es that are too dark or lose to red: su h as bla k or red desktops.
If your desk has one of the above surfa es, we re ommend you take one of the following measures to
improve your opti al mouse performan e:
• Pla e a pie e of ordinary white paper that is not too smooth (and is not too shiny, like oated paper) on
your desktop to use as a mousepad.

• Use a mousepad designed for an opti al mouse.
Storage Media and Driver Usage Precautions
1. If your omputer omes with an opti al drive, do not tou h the surfa e of the dis or the lens on the tray.
2. Wait until you hear the CD or DVD li k into the enter pivot of the opti al drive before losing the tray.
3. When installing a hard drive, apply pressure on the devi e only where needed.
System Usage Precautions
• Lenovo re ommends you use the Windows 10 operating system provided by Mi rosoft. Be ause
Mi rosoft no longer provides support for Windows XP and earlier operating systems, some software and
hardware may be in ompatible with these operating systems. If you install a Windows 10 operating
system on your own, the self-installed operating system may have high hardware onfiguration
requirements that your omputer annot support. This may ause the system to be unable to run properly
or ompatibility issues with some hardware and software that an make the system unusable. We
re ommend you onsult the Mi rosoft website for the latest information to determine whether your
omputer an support the onfiguration requirements of your hosen operating system. In order to
enhan e the se urity and stability of your omputer system, please promptly download the latest
operating system pat hes from the Mi rosoft website and upgrade and update your system.
• Lenovo re ommends you use the preinstalled operating system, but does not prevent you from installing
another operating system on this produ t. However, be ause other operating systems have not passed
rigorous testing on this produ t, Lenovo annot guarantee that an operating system other than the
preinstalled system or the supported operating systems listed in this guide will be stable, reliable, and
se ure when used on this omputer. Other operating systems may not be able to obtain the normal
performan e, stability, reliability, and se urity of this produ t. Furthermore, Lenovo does not guarantee
that it provides the drivers for other operating systems.
• The operating system (su h as Windows 10) and appli ation software (su h as word pro essing and
database software) ome with their own instru tions manuals. If you en ounter any problems when using
these programs, please refer to the relevant instru tions manual.
• The fun tions of the preinstalled operating system and any preinstalled appli ation software are distin t
from the fun tions of this produ t itself, and su h fun tions shall not be onstrued as fun tions of this
produ t.
• Lenovo does not provide any ommitments or servi es related to the usability or reliability of hardware
and software provided by a third party.
• The onboard integrated graphi s ard shares some resour es with the physi al memory. Therefore, the
memory value displayed in the system may be less than the physi al value of the memory hardware.
• Generally, users an hange the DVD region ode five times. Go to "Devi e Manager" → "DVD/CD-ROM
Drivers" and li k the relevant driver on the "DVD Region" page to view the number of times you an
hange the setting. If you have rea hed the limit, you an only play DVDs ompatible with the urrently set
region. In addition, some DVDs may not have regional retra tions, whi h is indi ated by a region of 0.

Chapter 1. Install the Computer
Notes:
• Before installing the omputer, he k the pa king list to make sure all the parts are provided.
• Before installing and using the omputer, arefully read this user guide.
Connect to Power
Conne t the omputer to a power as shown in the figure below:
1. Conne t one end of the power able to the power onne tor on the ba k of the devi e.
2. Plug the other end of the power able into an ele tri al outlet.
Notes:
• If your omputer has a wireless keyboard and mouse, onne t them following the relevant instru tions.
• You must use the power adapter provided by Lenovo. The use of another power adapter may ause
ombustion or explosion.

Start Up the Computer
Press and hold the power button on the ase to start up the omputer.

Shut Down the Computer
To prevent damage to hardware/software systems or loss of data, do not arbitrarily use the power button to
shut down the omputer. Instead, shut down the omputer as follows.
For the Windows 10 operating system:
1. Cli k the i on to open the Start Menu.
2. Cli k “Power”→“Shut down”, as shown in the figure below.

3. Wait for the omputer to shut down and then turn off the monitor and other peripheral devi es.
Note: After you turn off the system, please wait at least 20 se onds before turning the omputer ba k on to
avoid hardware faults.
Connect to Wi-Fi Networks
Note: If the omputer you pur hased is not a Wi-Fi devi e, please skip this se tion.
A Wi-Fi onne tion provides mobile Internet a ess within the overage area of the Wi-Fi signal. This method
allows you to onne t to the Internet wirelessly.
Wi-Fi LAN networks over a small area, su h as a house, offi e, or a ampus with several buildings. You
must onne t to an a ess point (su h as a wireless router) to onne t to the Wi-Fi network.
Connect to Bluetooth Devices
Note: If the omputer you pur hased does not have a Bluetooth fun tion, please skip this se tion.
If your omputer is equipped with a Bluetooth adapter ard, you an onne t it to other Bluetooth devi es,
su h as laptops, PDAs, and mobile phones, to transmit data wirelessly.
In an open spa e, Bluetooth devi es an transmit data within a range of 10 meters.
Notes:
• The a tual maximum onne tion distan e will vary due to interferen e and obsta les between devi es. To
obtain the optimal transmission speed, bring the other devi e as lose to the omputer as possible.
• Before transmitting data, you must pair the Bluetooth devi e with your omputer.
Smart Temperature Control
Note: Some omputer support this fun tion. Refer to your omputer to see if it has this fun tion.
The smart temperature ontrol option is used to ontrol the noise of the omputer and its heat dissipation
performan e by sele ting different temperature ontrol settings.

• When you sele t "Best Performan e" (default setting), the omputer optimizes system performan e with
normal a ousti level.
• When you sele t "Best Experien e", the omputer optimizes the user experien e with balan ed noise and
better performan e.
• When you sele t "Full Speed", the system will run all fans at full speed.
The pro edure is as follows:
1. Restart the omputer. When the logo s reen is displayed, press F1 or Fn+F1.
2. Sele t "Power"→"Intelligent Cooling" and then press Enter.
3. Sele t "Performan e Mode" and press Enter.
4. Set the performan e mode as desired.
5. Press F10 or Fn+F10 to save your hanges and exit.
Smart Driver Installation
In order to let you qui kly, onveniently, and orre tly install drivers for the omponents in your omputer, we
designed an ex lusive smart driver installation system. By using the smart installation system, you do not
need to spend a lot of time looking for diver paths in the driver dis . Instead, the smart installation system
helps you automati ally dete t the PCI and PCI-E settings that an be installed. This program supports the
Windows 10 operating system. You just need to insert the provided driver dis and it will automati ally install
the ne essary drivers.
Note: During driver installation, follow the system prompts to omplete the pro ess.
The smart driver installation program provides full installation and sele tive installation options:
• Full installation: When this option is enabled, the smart driver installation program will automati ally dete t
the omputer hardware information and display a hardware information dialog box. After you onfirm the
displayed information, the program will automati ally install the drivers in the set sequen e. To ensure the
stability of your omputer during the installation pro ess, the smart installation system will restart the
omputer when its operating status permits.
• Sele tive installation: In the hardware information dialog box provided by the smart installation system,
you an manually install drivers one by one or install only the sele ted drivers.
Notes:
• The smart driver installation program only supports the built-in PCI and PCI-E bus plug-and-play devi es
provided by Lenovo. It does not support devi es onne ted to serial ports, parallel ports, or USB ports.
• If you annot use this program to install drivers for additional expansion ards and external devi es,
please install them manually.
• If you dis over that some drivers have not been installed after running the automati install program,
please install them manually.
• You must manually install fun tion keyboard drivers. For more information, see the "Fun tion Keyboard
Instru tions for Use" se tion.
• The hardware information in the installation list shown in this guide is for referen e only. The a tual
information displayed on your omputer is the orre t information.

Chapter 3. Set Up Your Computer
Set Up Sleep Mode
Note: The interfa e images in this hapter are for referen e only.
For the Windows 10 operating system:
1. Right- li k the start i on to bring up a menu.
2. In this menu, sele t "Power Options".
3. This opens the "Power & sleep" interfa e. Set the sleep time to 30 minutes, as shown in the figure below.

4. After onfiguring this setting, li k the start i on and then "Power" → "Sleep" to put the
omputer into power-saving mode.
Note: In power-saving mode, the omputer sleep time annot be set to more than 30 minutes.
Set Up BIOS Boot Order
To set the BIOS boot order for UEFI BIOS, follow the instru tions below:
1. Turn on the omputer and repeatedly press F1 on the keyboard to go to the "Startup" interfa e.
2. Sele t "Boot Priority Order" and press Enter.
3. In the boot priority order, follow the on-s reen prompts and use the "+" or "-" buttons to sele t the boot
devi e order.
4. Press F10 and the s reen will display a prompt. Sele t "Yes" and press Enter to save your hanges and
exit.
Note: If you need to use expansion devi es, turn off the omputer and then onne t the devi es.
Graphics Card Setup
Notes:

• This se tion only applies to graphi s ards with a multi-display output fun tion. If the omputer you
pur hased does not ome with a graphi s ard that supports this fun tion, you an skip this se tion.
• The interfa e images used in this se tion are for referen e only.
• This se tion only introdu es some ommon graphi s ard fun tions. For information about other
fun tions, see the ele troni help information that omes with the graphi s ard driver.
• If you need to use dual-s reen mode or expanded display mode, please onne t another fun tion display
devi e to the omputer's output port.
The graphi s ard setup instru tions below assume you are using Windows 10.
Set Up NVIDIA Graphics Cards
Display settings
Right- li k on a blank spa e on the desktop. In the menu that appears, sele t "Display settings" to go to the
Display interfa e. In the "Display resolution" field, you an adjust the resolution. In the "Multiple displays"
se tion, you an onfigure multiple displays to opy or expand your display (this fun tion is only available
after you onne t two monitors). Cli k "Advan ed display settings" and go to the "Monitor" tab for a display
to adjust the s reen refresh rate.
Multiple display output settings
If your graphi s ard hard two or more output ports, it an output to multiple displays. This fun tion supports
single display mode, opy mode, and dual-s reen display mode.
Before setup, onne t the two displays for output.
This se tion assumes you are using the Windows 10 operating system. Right- li k on a blank spa e on the
desktop. In the menu that appears, sele t "Display settings" to go to the Display interfa e. In the "Multiple
displays" se tion, you an onfigure multiple displays. The drop-down menu provides four options: opy this
display, expand this display, only display on 1, and only display on 2.
Note: If the TV display interfa e is not lear, try adjusting the s reen resolution to 800 x 600 pixels.
Set Up ATI Graphics Cards
Display settings
This se tion assumes you are using the Windows 10 operating system. Right- li k on a blank spa e on the
desktop. In the menu that appears, sele t "Display settings" to go to the Display interfa e. In the "Display
resolution" field, you an adjust the resolution. In the "Multiple displays" se tion, you an onfigure multiple
displays to opy or expand your display (this fun tion is only available after you onne t two monitors). Cli k
"Advan ed display settings" and go to the "Monitor" tab for a display to adjust the s reen refresh rate.

DMI audio output
Notes:
• If your graphi s ard omes with an HDMI onne tor, it supports devi es with HDMI audio output.
• Before setup, onne t the HDMI display that supports audio output.
This se tion assumes you are using the Windows 10 operating system. Go to "Control Panel" → "Hardware
and Sound" → "Sound" to open the Sound interfa e. In the "Playba k" tab, right- li k the HDMI devi e to
test it and set up HDMI devi e audio output.
Other Precautions
• The BIOS of this graphi s ard is designed and produ ed ex lusively for Lenovo omputers. Do not use a
graphi s ard BIOS not obtained from Lenovo to refresh or upgrade the existing BIOS. Otherwise, the
graphi s ard may not work properly, ausing you a lot of unne essary hassle.
• Before adjusting the display mode, read the instru tions for the display devi e to onfirm that it an
support the new refresh rate and resolution. If you annot onfirm that your display supports the desired
display mode, you an onsult the te hni al support department of Lenovo.
• In a DOS environment, this graphi s ard does not support simultaneous output to two display devi es.
• In expanded display mode, if you use ertain playba k software to play DVDs, the video will only be
output on the main display. Therefore, to avoid in onvenien e, adjust the primary/se ondary attributes of
the displays before playing a DVD.
• The settings interfa e of the multi-display output fun tion may differ slightly with different driver versions
and operating systems.
• After you install the graphi s ard driver and restart the omputer, an ASP.NET Ma hine A... user may
appear. This does not affe t system use, and you an delete the user manually.

Note: Do not install or use pirated software or software that may ontain omputer viruses.
Using Windows 10 System Software
Using the Start Menu
Cli k the Start menu i on in the lower-left orner of the desktop to bring up the ommonly used
appli ation menu and tile display menu. The spe ial appli ations of Windows 10 are integrated in the tile
menu.
Using the Shortcut Menu
Right- li k the Start menu i on in the lower-left orner of the desktop to bring up the Short ut menu. On the
Short ut menu, you an find Power Options, Disk Management, Computer Management, and other ommon
maintenan e fun tions.
Multifunctional Desktop
• NNeeww DDeesskkttoopp::Cli k the "Task View" i on on the taskbar and then li k "+ New desktop" to reate a
new desktop. You an reate multiple virtual desktops for different purposes and run different
appli ations on ea h desktop. After you add a virtual desktop, you an li k the "Task View" i on in
the taskbar to manage the appli ations laun hed in the different desktops.

Move your ursor to the desktop to delete and li k the x button in the upper-right orner to delete the
urrent desktop.
Note: You an use this same method to lose appli ations that are running in different desktops.
Action Center
Cli k the i on in the taskbar to open the A tion Center. In the A tion Center, you an view notifi ations,
swit h to tablet mode, onfigure system settings, and qui kly a ess other ommon fun tions.
