Avoid constant ody contact with specific hot sections
CAUTION:
When the computer is operating, it should e placed on a hard and flat surface with its ottom area
not in contact with user’s are skin. Under normal operating conditions, the temperature of the
ottom surface will remain within an accepta le range as defined in IEC 62368-1, ut such
temperatures can still e high enough to cause discomfort or harm to the user if directly touched for
over one minute at a time. As such, it is recommended that users avoid prolonged direct contact with
the ottom of the computer.
Laser safety for the ToF sensor
T is device is classified as a Class 1 laser product per EN/IEC 6 825-1:2 14. T is device complies wit FDA
performance standards for laser products except for conformance wit IEC 6 825-1 Ed. 3, as described in
Laser Notice No. 56, dated May 8, 2019.
CAUTION:
This device contains a laser that could e damaged during repair or disassem ly, which could result
in hazardous exposure to infrared laser emissions. There are no user servicea le parts with the
device. Do not attempt to disassem le or service the device.

Work with Windows
T e following table contains Windows frequently used settings. You can learn t e basics and start working
wit Windows rig t away.
To configure settings, type t e corresponding keywords in t e Windows searc box and select t e best
matc . Follow t e on-screen instructions to customize settings.

networks
For models wit a wireless LAN module, you can connect your computer to
a Wi-Fi® network. Click t e network icon in t e Windows notification area,
and t en select a network for connection.
Note: T e wireless LAN module on your computer may support different
standards. For some countries or regions, use of 802.11ax may be disabled
according to local regulations.
Wi-Fi
Airplane mode Airplane mode is a convenient setting to turn all wireless communications of
your computer on and off. You may need to turn it on w en boarding an
airplane.

Nig t lig t mode Nig t lig t is a switc in Windows t at you can turn on and off. W en it is
turned on, your screen s ows warmer colors and t e amount of emitted
blue lig t is reduced. Enabling nig t lig t reduces t e c ances of developing
eye fatigue or eye strain.

Adjust color
temperature
If nig t lig t mode is turned on, you can adjust t e color temperature of t e
screen.
Note: Selected Lenovo computers are low blue lig t certified using nig t
lig t mode and color temperature settings available in t e pre-installed
operating system. T ese computers are tested wit nig t lig t turned on
and color temperature set to 48 or greater.

Windows
Updates
Microsoft periodically releases feature and security updates to t e Windows
operating system. Updates t at are applicable to your Windows version are
downloaded automatically w en your computer is connected to t e
Internet. W en updates are downloaded, you are prompted to restart t e
computer to install t ese updates. You can also manually c eck if t ere are
available updates for t e installed version of Windows.
Attention: Only use Windows Update to download and install updates.
Updates downloaded from ot er sources may include security risks.

Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo PC Manager
T ey are bot apps developed by Lenovo. Using eit er of t em, you can:
• View product information and system status
• Manage and c ange device settings
• C eck for and perform system update
Note: T is feature is only available on Lenovo Vantage. In Lenovo PC Manager, you can c eck for and
perform driver update.
Depending on t e country or region in w ic your computer is purc ased, one of t e apps may be pre-
installed on your computer. To open it, type its name in t e Windows Searc box and select t e matc ed
result. If neit er of t e apps is pre-installed, you may install one on your own. Lenovo Vantage is available for
download free of c arge from t e Microsoft Store.
Note: App features are subject to c ange wit updates and specific features may not be available on all
Lenovo products.
The Novo Button menu
T e Novo Button menu can be displayed before t e operating system starts. From t e menu, you can
c oose to
• Open t e BIOS/UEFI setup utility
• Open t e boot device selection menu
• Open t e Windows startup options screen
Note: From t e Windows startup options screen, you can t en c oose to
Start your computer using a recovery drive
Reset your computer
Open advanced options screen
Open the Novo Button menu
For Lenovo computers wit a Novo button, you can press t e button to open t e Novo Button menu.
Step 1. Turn off t e computer.
Step 2. Open t e LCD screen and press t e Novo button.
Note: Alternatively, turn off t e computer. Press Fn and t e power button to open t e Novo Button menu.

Interact with your computer
Hotkeys
Look at t e top row of t e keyboard of your Lenovo computer and you’ll find keys wit printed icons. T ese
keys are called otkeys and t ey provide s ortcuts to functions t at you’ll use frequently. T e function t at
eac otkey provides is denoted by t e icon printed on t e key.
Hotkeys s are keys wit function keys (F1–F12) and ot er keys. Depending on t e FnLock setting, you use
otkey functions by pressing t e key directly or in combination wit t e Fn key.
Note: T e FnLock switc does not apply to otkeys not found in t e first row of t e keyboard. To use t ese
otkeys, always old down t e Fn key w ile pressing t e key.

The FnLock switch
T e FnLock is an electronic switc t at affects ow you use otkey functions. To turn it on and off, press Fn
+ Esc.

A Lenovo keyboard usually contains otkeys in t e top row. T ese otkeys s are keys wit t e function keys
