1. Speakers Produce sound.
2. Fingerprint reader * Enroll and read your fingerprint for user authentication.
3. Wireless antennas Send and receive radio waves for the built-in wireless LAN (local area
network) and Bluetooth odule.
Notes:
• The antennas are not visible fro the outside of the co puter.
• If the location of the antennas is close to the user’s body (< 20 c ),
you can find the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) values in the Setup
Guide that co es with your co puter.

1. Power connector Connect to power with the included power cord and ac power
adapter.
2. Charging light Indicate whether the co puter is connected to ac power.
• Solid white: connected to ac power; battery capacity 91%–100%
• Solid a ber: connected to ac power; battery capacity 1%–90%
• Off: not connected to ac power
3. HDMITM connector Connect to a co patible digital audio device or video onitor, such
as an HDTV.
4. USB-CTM connector Connect external storage or data devices.
Note: An appropriate adapter ay be needed for connecting external
devices. This connector cannot be used to connect external display
devices.
5. Co bo audio jack Connect headphones or headsets with a 3.5 (0.14 inch), 4-pole
plug.
Note: This jack does not support standalone external icrophones. If
you use headsets, choose one with a single plug.
6. Novo button hole
Press the Novo button to open the Novo Button enu. Fro the
enu, you can choose to open the UEFI/BIOS setup utility, the Boot
enu, or the Windows startup options screen.
Note: You will need a pin or paperclip to press the Novo Button.

1. Power button Press the button to turn on the co puter or put the co puter into
sleep ode.
The light on the power button shows the syste status of your
co puter.
2. 4-in-1 e ory card reader slot Insert an SD card, SDHC card, SDXC card, or a MultiMediaCard
(MMC) into the slot for data transfer or storage.
3. USB (3.1 Gen 1) Type-A connector Connect a USB-co patible device, such as a USB keyboard, a USB
ouse, a USB storage device, or a USB printer.

(always-on)
Connect a USB-co patible device, such as a USB keyboard, a USB
ouse, a USB storage device, or a USB printer.
The always-on connector can charge external devices when the
co puter is turned off, in sleep or hibernation ode. The always-on
function can be turned on or off in the UEFI/BIOS setup utility.
Note: If Lenovo Vantage is pre-installed on your co puter, you can
also set always-on function fro within that software.

Depending on any factors such as the processing capability of the host and peripheral devices, file
attributes, and other factors related to syste configuration and operating environ ents, the actual transfer
rate using the various USB connectors on this device will vary and will be slower than the data rate listed
below for each corresponding device.

Work with Windows
The following table contains Windows frequently used settings. You can learn the basics and start working
with Windows right away.
To configure settings, type the corresponding keywords in the Windows search box and select the best
atch. Follow the on-screen instructions to custo ize settings.

For odels with a wireless LAN odule, you can connect your co puter to
a Wi-Fi® network. Click the network icon in the Windows notification area,
and then select a network for connection.
Note: The wireless LAN odule on your co puter ay support different
standards. For so e countries or regions, use of 802.11ax ay be disabled
according to local regulations.

For odels with an Ethernet (RJ-45) connector, you can use an Ethernet
cable to connect your co puter to a wired network.

Airplane ode Airplane ode is a convenient setting to turn all wireless co unications of
your co puter on and off. You ay need to turn it on when boarding an
airplane.

Night light ode Night light is a switch in Windows that you can turn on and off. When it is
turned on, your screen shows war er colors and the a ount of e itted
blue light is reduced. Enabling night light reduces the chances of developing
eye fatigue or eye strain.

If night light ode is turned on, you can adjust the color te perature of the
screen.
Note: Selected Lenovo co puters are low blue light certified. These
co puters are tested with night light turned on and color te perature set to
the default value of 48.

Updates
Microsoft periodically releases feature and security updates to the Windows
operating syste . Updates that are applicable to your Windows version are
downloaded auto atically when your co puter is connected to the
Internet. When updates are downloaded, you are pro pted to restart the
co puter to install these updates. You can also anually check if there are
available updates for the installed version of Windows.
ttention: Only use Windows Update to download and install updates.
Updates downloaded fro other sources ay include security risks.

For odels with a fingerprint reader, you can enroll your fingerprint for
Windows sign-in.
Sign-in options
Touch keyboard In stand, tent, or tablet ode, the physical keyboard of your co puter is
disabled to prevent inadvertent typing. In these three odes, Windows
touch keyboard is auto atically displayed when text input is required. If not,
select the touch keyboard icon ( ) in the Windows notification area.

Tablet ode Windows provides a tablet ode that akes touch operations ore user-
friendly. When rotating your co puter screen to switch to tablet, stand, or
tent ode, you will be pro pted to switch to Windows tablet ode. You
can also select the tablet ode icon in the Windows notification area to turn
on or off Windows tablet ode anually.

In stand, tent, or tablet ode, auto rotation is turned on so that the
orientation of the screen changes based on how you place or hold the
co puter. To keep the screen in a fixed orientation, you can select the
rotation lock icon in the Windows notification area to turn on rotation lock.
Note: Rotation lock is disabled in notebook ode.

If the on-screen instructions cannot solve your proble , refer to the following to get the online Windows help
infor ation.
• Type Get Help or Tips in the Windows search box and then press Enter. When the app opens, type the
proble description and select the atched result.
• Visit Microsoft support Web site: https://support. icrosoft.co . Enter what you are looking for in the
search box and get search results.
Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo PC Manager
Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo PC Manager is software developed by Lenovo. Using the software, you can:
• View product infor ation
• View warranty and support infor ation
• Run hardware scan and diagnose proble s
• Change hardware settings
• Update Windows, drivers, and UEFI/BIOS
Lenovo Vantage or PC Manager ay be pre-installed on your co puter. To open it, enter the software na e
in Windows Search and select the atched result.
Note: If Lenovo Vantage is not pre-installed, you can download it fro Microsoft Store.
Connect to an external display device
You can connect your co puter to external display devices through wired or wireless connections.

Wired You ust have an HDMI cable.
Wireless You ust have one of the following:
• An external display that supports Miracast®
• A Miracast adapter for the external display
Connect to a wired display device
HDMI
Use an HDMI cable (not supplied) to connect your co puter to a wired display device. Read the
docu entation for the display device before purchasing a cable.
Step 1. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI connector on your co puter.
Step 2. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the appropriate HDMI connector on the display.
Connect to a wireless display device
You can connect your co puter to an external display through Miracast.
Note: The display device ay support Miracast directly or ay use an adapter that supports Miracast.
Step 1. Type devices settings in the Windows search box and then press Enter.
Step 2. Select add Bluetooth or other device and then select wireless display or dock.
Step 3. Select the device na e to connect to.
Notes: If the device na e is not displayed, check to ensure that
• Wi-Fi is turned on for your co puter.
• the display device is turned on and is near your co puter.
The Novo Button menu
The Novo Button enu can be displayed before the operating syste starts. Fro the enu, you can
choose to
• Open the BIOS/UEFI setup utility
• Open the boot device selection enu
• Open the Windows startup options screen
Note: Fro the Windows startup options screen, you can then choose to
Start your co puter using a recovery drive
Reset your co puter
Open advanced options screen
Open the Novo Button menu
For Lenovo co puters with a Novo button, you can press the button to open the Novo Button enu.

Step 2. Open the LCD screen and press the Novo button.
Note: Alternatively, turn off the co puter. Press Fn and the power button to open the Novo Button enu.
Yoga modes
The screen of your co puter can open up to an angle of 360 degrees, enabling you to use your co puter for
different purposes.
