1. Disconnect your computer from ac power.

Chapter 2. Get started with your computer
Access networks
This section he ps you connect to a wire ess or wired network.
Connect to Wi-Fi networks
C ick the network icon in the Windows® notification area, and then se ect a network for connection. Provide
required information, if needed.
Connect to the wired Ethernet
To connect your computer to a oca network, you need a Lenovo USB-C to Ethernet Adapter. Lenovo USB-
C to Ethernet Adapter is avai ab e as an option and shipped with some computer mode s. You can purchase
one from Lenovo at https://www. enovo.com/accessories.
Connect to a cellular network (for selected models)
To connect a 4G or 5G ce u ar data network, you must have a wire ess wide area network (WWAN) card and
a nano-SIM card insta ed. The nano-SIM card might come with your computer by countries or regions. If no
nano-SIM card is shipped, you wi need to purchase one from authorized service carriers.

To estab ish a ce u ar connection:
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Locate the nano-SIM card s ot and insert the nano-SIM card as shown. Note the orientation of the card
and ensure that it is seated correct y.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. C ick the network icon, and then se ect the ce u ar network icon from the ist. Provide required
information, if needed.
Turn on the Airplane mode
When the Airp ane mode is enab ed, a wire ess features are disab ed.
1. C ick the action center icon in the Windows notification area.
2. C ick Airplane mode to turn on the Airp ane mode.

Use the TrackPoint pointing device
The TrackPoint pointing device enab es you to perform a the functions of a traditiona mouse, such as
pointing, c icking, and scro ing.

TrackPoint pointing stick
Use your finger to app y pressure to the pointing-stick nons ip cap in any direction para e to the keyboard.
The pointer on the screen moves according y. The higher the pressure app ied, the faster the pointer moves.
TrackPoint buttons
The eft-c ick button and right-c ick button correspond to the eft and right buttons on a traditiona mouse.
Press and ho d the dotted midd e button whi e using your finger to app ying pressure to the pointing stick in
the vertica or horizonta direction. Then, you can scro through the document, Web site, or apps.
isable the TrackPoint pointing device
The TrackPoint pointing device is active by defau t. To disab e the device:
1. Open the Start menu, and then c ick Settings ➙ evices ➙ Mouse.
2. Fo ow the on-screen instructions to disab e TrackPoint.

Use the touch gestures
Tap once to se ect or open an item. Tap twice quick y to disp ay a shortcut menu.
Two-finger zoom in or zoom out. Scro through items.
Open the task view to see a open windows. Show the desktop.
Notes:
• When using two or more fingers, ensure that you position your fingers s ight y apart.
• Some gestures are not avai ab e if the ast action was done from the TrackPoint pointing device.
• Some gestures are on y avai ab e when you are using certain apps.
• If the trackpad surface is stained with oi , turn off the computer first. Then, gent y wipe the trackpad
surface with a soft and int-free c oth moistened with ukewarm water or computer c eaner.

The trackpad is active by defau t. To disab e the device:
1. Open the Start menu, and then c ick Settings ➙ evices ➙ Touchpad.
2. In the Touchpad section, turn off the Touchpad contro .
Use the touch screen (for selected models)
If your computer disp ay supports the mu ti-touch function, you can navigate the screen with simp e touch
gestures.

Maintenance tips:
• Turn off the computer before c eaning the touch screen.
• Use a dry, soft, and int-free c oth or a piece of absorbent cotton to remove fingerprints or dust from the
touch screen. Do not app y so vents to the c oth.
• The touch screen is a g ass pane covered with a p astic fi m. Do not app y pressure or p ace any meta ic
object on the screen, which might damage the touch pane or cause it to ma function.
• Do not use fingernai s, g oved fingers, or inanimate objects for input on the screen.
• Regu ar y ca ibrate the accuracy of the finger input to avoid a discrepancy.
Connect to an external display
Connect your computer to a projector or a monitor to give presentations or expand your workspace.
Connect to a wired display
If your computer cannot detect the externa disp ay, right-c ick a b ank area on the desktop and se ect
disp ay settings. Then fo ow the on-screen instructions to detect the externa disp ay.

Connect to a wireless display
To use a wire ess disp ay, ensure that both your computer and the externa disp ay support the Miracast®
feature.
Press + and then se ect a wire ess disp ay to connect with.
