Primary and secondary displays
Both disp ays are touch enab ed. They can be arranged to show the same or different content. You can a so
set the same content to be disp ayed across the screens.
Note: You can use the accompanying externa keyboard (Yoga Book 9 BT KB) on top of the secondary
disp ay. The screen wi disp ay different widgets depending on where you p ace the keyboard (upper or
ower section of the disp ay).
Speakers
Converts e ectrica signa s into sound.
ToF (time-of-flight) sensor
The ToF sensor emits an infrared aser and uses the ref ected infrared energy to measure the distance of an
object. Apps can use the data to detect human presence and recognize gestures.
Note: The infrared ight emitted by the ToF sensor is invisib e to the human eye.
Infrared LED
Emits infrared ight to he p detect and recognize a person's face.
Infrared camera
The infrared camera detects infrared ight emitted by the infrared LED and ref ected by a human face.
Camera
The integrated camera can be used for:
• video chatting
• video conferencing
• video recordings
If your PC supports face authentication, the camera is a so used for face recognition.
Camera light
Indicates whether the camera is activated.

This mu ti-purpose connector can be used to connect:
• devices that conform to the USB data transfer protoco
• disp ay devices
Note: When connecting disp ay devices, you need to use appropriate cab es and adapters (if needed)
according to the connection capabi ities of the disp ay device.
USB Type-C connectors that show a ightning icon ( ) conform to Inte 's Thunderbo t protoco . You can
connect Thunderbo t-enab ed devices to such a connector.
USB Type-C connectors that show a p ug icon ( ) a so function as the PC’s power input connector.
Battery charging light
Indicates whether the battery is c ose to being fu y charged.

Novo b tton hole
By pressing the Novo button when the PC is turned off, it wi start the PC and disp ay a menu that a ows you
to perform the fo owing actions:
• Open the PC’s firmware setup uti ity
• Open the boot device se ection menu
• Reset or recover the operating system
Note: The Novo button is for recovery and troub eshooting purposes. As it is not used often, the button is
recessed in a ho e to prevent it from being inadvertent y pressed. You can use a SIM card ejection pin to
press the Novo button.

Both disp ays of the Yoga Book 9 13IRU8 are touch enab ed. You can touch the screens to interact with the
operating system and your insta ed apps. The Windows operating system a so supports mu ti-touch
gestures.
Yoga Book 9 13IRU8 inc udes neither a bui t-in keyboard nor a bui t-in touchpad. For text input, you can use
the B uetooth keyboard that comes with your Yoga Book 9 13IRU8. A ternative y, you can activate the
Lenovo virtua keyboard on the bottom screen. If you want a pointer to precise y se ect screen items, you can
activate a virtua touchpad on the bottom screen and use it as your pointing device.
A digita pen is a so inc uded for drawing and note-taking.
Yoga Book 9 Bl etooth KB
Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB is a B uetooth keyboard that is specifica y designed for your Yoga Book 9
13IRU8. You can pair the keyboard with Yoga Book 9 13IRU8 and then use it for typing characters. The
keyboard inc udes hotkeys that provide quick access to settings and operations that you use frequent y.

Keyboard switch positions
The keyboard switch can be p aced in one of three positions.
Switch position Description
The keyboard is turned off.
The keyboard is in free connection mode. It wi be re-connected if p aced near a
previous y paired B uetooth-enab ed device.
The keyboard is made discoverab e by other B uetooth-enab ed devices.
Keyboard stat s light
The status ight on the right side of Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB indicates the power and connection status of
the keyboard.

Off • [Switch in off position] The keyboard is powered off.
• [Switch in free connection position] The keyboard is
connected with another B uetooth-enab ed device.
On (amber) The keyboard is being charged. (charge eve under 90%)
Rapid b inking (amber) The battery of the keyboard is ow.
B inking (white) 4 times and then turned off The keyboard is trying to connect with a paired
B uetooth-enab ed device.
B inking (white) 5 times in quick succession The keyboard is connected with a paired B uetooth-
enab ed device.
Pair Yoga Book 9 Bl etooth KB with Yoga Book 9 13IRU8
Before you begin using the Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB, make sure it is paired with the Yoga Book 9 13IRU8.
Step 1. Ho d the switch of the B uetooth keyboard in the pairing position for 2 seconds and then re ease the
switch.
Step 2. Enab e B uetooth on Yoga Book 9 13IRU8.
Step 3. Se ect Settings ➙ Bl etooth & devices ➙ Add device ➙ Bl etooth.
Step 4. On the found devices ist, c ick a device that is abe ed “YB9 KB.”
The Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB shou d now be paired with your PC and is ready for use. The battery eve of
the B uetooth keyboard is disp ayed on the PC. Video tutoria s on how to pair the keyboard with Yoga Book 9
13IRU8 are a so avai ab e on Lenovo Support Web site.

Charging Yoga Book 9 Bl etooth KB
The Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB is powered by a bui t-in ithium-ion battery. When connected to the PC, you
can check the battery eve of the keyboard. Recharge the keyboard when it is running ow on battery.

Note: The ight on the right side of the Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB b inks amber if the keyboard is in a ow-
battery state.
The Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB inc udes a USB Type-C charging connector. Use the battery charger that
came with your Yoga Book 9 13IRU8 to recharge the keyboard.
The Lenovo virt al keyboard
When activated, the Lenovo virtua keyboard is disp ayed on the bottom screen of the Yoga Book 9 13IRU8.
It is a QWERTY–based, six–row, standard Lenovo keyboard that a so provides function keys (F1–F12),
hotkeys (shortcut keys), and Fn-based key combinations.
There are three options to activate the Lenovo virtua keyboard. Each option can be turned on or off in the
User Center app.

When activated, the virtua keyboard is disp ayed on the upper or ower part of the bottom screen. To switch
the position of the virtua keyboard, s ide 8 fingers upwards or downwards on the bottom screen.

Lenovo virt al keyboard c stomization
When the Lenovo virtua keyboard is activated, you can press the settings key ( ) to customize the
fo owing keyboard settings:
• Change the keyboard transparency
• Turn the key-pressing sound on or off
• Turn the key-pressing vibration on or off
Virt al to chpad
Most notebook PCs inc ude a bui t-in touchpad for interacting with the PC’s graphica user interface. You
manipu ate objects and text on the screen by s iding and tapping your finger on the touchpad. With Yoga
Book 9 13IRU8, you can activate and use a virtua touchpad to perform such tasks.
Note: The Lenovo virtua touch pad is not avai ab e when you use Yoga Book 9 13IRU8 in tent or tab et
mode.
The bottom virt al to chpad
When you put Yoga Book 9 B uetooth KB or activate the Lenovo virtua keyboard on the upper part of the
bottom screen, a virtua touchpad with two c ick buttons is disp ayed be ow the keyboard. You can s ide your
finger and tap the c ick buttons as you wou d on a physica touchpad.
Note: If the Lenovo virtua keyboard is activated on the ower part of the bottom screen, you can press the
F10 hotkey to move the keyboard upward to revea the virtua touchpad.
The floating virt al to chpad
You can a so activate a f oating virtua touchpad on the bottom screen of Yoga Book 9 13IRU8. There are
three options to activate the f oating virtua touchpad.
