3.2.1 Fillup the grain.
Thebody is madeof mahogan, and theneck is
made of solid maple. Open grained woods need
to be filled before finishing in order to achieve a
flat surface.
WesuggestusingourNeutral Color
Tonegrainfiller following the instructions on the
label. Three applications are recommended to
get a nice flat surface to build finish coats
over. The grainfiller can also be used to fill any
gaps, chips,or other imperfections in the wood.
Asa general rule, you should fillup the

Sand the back of the neck use the same
method for sand the body. Before you painting

of the headstock.
Use the same method for stain the top of
headstock, then you got this and waiting for
dry then sand it.
Most players are like the natural back of the
neck, so you can use the tone oil only for coated
on the back of neck. And sand it after it

3.3 Installation
Installl the tuning machines for the headstock. Let
the machine heads go through the hold of
headstock form rear side and mounting the nut on
it with washer. But do not tight them very much.
(We make the example in black hardwares, infact
all are same method.)
Use a streight ruler line up to the machine headsfor
align all of them and make each tuning machine
perpendicular to the edge of the headstock, then
tighten the nut with washer in the front side.
Tape drill and leave and the tail section only half
length of the thickness of the headstock. In order
to not drill break through the wood of headstock.
Pre-drill small hole from the rear side of the
headstock to through the screw hole of the
machine heads. Now it's time for tighten the nut
of the machine heads by span.

3.3.2 Install the electronics
You can find an access from each pickup cavity to
the back cavity. And i
f there is any copper foil
paper sticking inside of all the cavities as shilding
that will be perfect.
Let the both neck and bridge pickups' wire going

Press the pickup fully down into the cavity and let it
stay in the middle and moveable inside of the cavity,
let all the pickups contact with the body completely.
Then pre-drill a small hole. Pre-drill always much
helpful to drive the screw on the wood easier.
Find the pickup screws with springs, install it on the
pickup as the illustration. It means the screw have to
go through the pickup first and spring second.
Drive the screw must down to the hole which you
have pre-drilled, only in the case can make sure the
screw are certainly going down streight but no even
little incline. Drive the screws not to the end and
leave a space adjust the height for both pickups. You
can use your thumb for check the spring working
well.

Cut the A4 paper as much as smaller that can
contain the 3 marked positions, use it as a
template for drill 3 holes to a hard carton paper
by screw driver or drills or sharp wooden stick.
Notice: Please remember the top and rear side of
the paper carton same as the body.
Put the pertetiometer into the hole from rear side
to the top side. And cut the paper carton as much
small as you can contain all the potentiometers on
it.
Insert the ground cable wire to the surface of the
body via the access to the ground wire hole. It
have to full contact with the bridge or welding
with the bridge.

3.3.6 Joint the neck
After welding the potentiometers and then insert
the potentiometer to the control knob hole of the
body from the back cavity. Then tighten the nut
with the washers on the top side of the body.
Press the neck into the socket of the body very
tightly, Leo Jaymz electric guitar or bass kits are all
drilled and cutted by CNC machine with accurate
draft, so there is no any gaps between the body and
neck at all when you fully put the neck into the neck
pocket.
Bolt the metal board on the back of body's socket,
align the 4 holes for both the metal board and the
body, drive the biggest screw in our package to the
body for only small section for leave it stand there.
Now clamp it with anything as a buffer for avoid
any scratch on the bass. Here we choose several
pieces of thicker plastic table cover for clamp with
it.
Drill the biggest screws into the body to the 4 holes
of the metal board. Drive the screws very streight to
the body, you'd better choose a powerful cordless
driver for drive it.

3.3.5 Install the bridge and strings
Put the bridge on the bridge position and let it press
and contact the ground cable wire, then for measure
it. From the nut to the bridge saddles is 34"(864mm)
as a scale length. Then use a pencil mark the line of
bridge.
Check the steel ruler is go through on the middle of
the top of the finger board inlay, then adjust the
bridge position for more right or more left. There is 5
holes on the bridge, let the 3rd(middle) hole align the
ruler. Mark the 5 holes and pre-drill, then for fix them
with the bridge screws.
Let the 4 strings go through the hole from the bottom
of the bridge, and leave the ball-end here. The treble
string on the right side, and the bass string on left
side.
Rolling the strings to the column of the machine
heads, at most 2 and half circles otherwise there is no
space to keep the thicker bass string rolling on the
column.

4 Setup the guitar
4.1 Truss rod adjustment
The truss rod runs down the centre of a bass
guitar neck. It can be used to straighten
bowed necks by either lossening or
tightening it.
To see if the neck on your bass guitar has
bowed place a finger on the 1st fret of the
low E string then use your other hand to
press down somewhere around the 15th fret
of the same string. The gap between the
string and the frets should be around a
consistent width of a credit card throughout.

String action
The goal here is to make sure that all string heights are
equal in distance from the bottom of the string to the fret.
To adjust the saddles' height by 0.059" allen wrench, and
the string height as the program as below:
Setting a bass guitar's intonation can be a painful process
but is well worth spending the time getting right.
1. To start, make sure all the strings are in tune - you will
need to retune each string everytime you make an
adjustment with your screwdriver.
2. Next, play a note at the 12 fret. You will notice that this
note will be either sharper or flatter than the open string.
3. Turn the screw that goes through the bridge into the saddle either clockwise (sharper)
or counterclockwise (flatter) - remember to make small adjustments. Your goal is to get
the 12th fret in perfect tune. As you continue this process keep re-tuning the open
string with a quality tuner.

Screw the back cavity and truss rod cover, find the right angle for install it almost no
any gap between the cover and the cavity. Install the output jack, control knob, and
strap button.

5 Other Hint

5 Other Hints
There are a few other things that you can do to optimize your tuning stability:
1. Each time you play your guitar, before you do your final tuning, play for a few
minutes to allow the strings to warm up. Metal expands when warm and contracts
when cool. After you've played a few riffs, you can then do your final tuning;
2. Wipe the strings, neck and bridge with a lint-free cloth after playing;
3. When transporting or storing your guitar, even for short periods, avoid leaving it
anyplace you wouldn't feel comfortable yourself.
Remember, guitars are tempered instruments! Re-tune, play and make further
adjustments as needed.
