A SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the
product.
A wARNING
• This Power Pack is for use with low-voltage landscape lighting systems ONLY.
• This Power Pack is suitable for outdoor use ONLY.
• Includes ground shield protection.
• Suitable for use with submersible luminaries and pumps.
• Power Pack MUST be installed at least 20
in. above ground level.
•
Do NOT mount Power Pack indoors or in an enclosed area, such as garages, crawl spaces or
decks beneath ground level.
•
DO NOT repair or tamper with cord or plug.
•
DO NOT use extension cords.
• DO NOT submerge the Power Pack in water.
•
DO NOT connect two or more Power Packs together.
•
DO NOT use the Power Pack with a dimmer switch.
• DO NOT install the Power Pack within 5 ft. of a pool, spa or fountain.
•
DO NOT mount the Power Pack upon combustible material.
• DO NOT bury the connectors or cables at depth greater than 6 in.
• DO NOT exceed the maximum wattage of the Power Pack's terminals (900 watts).
• ONLY plug the Power Pack cord into a covered 120-volt Class A Type GFCI (ground fault circuit
interrupter) receptacle with a hooded flush type cover plate marked "WET LOCATION".
•
DO NOT short circuit the HIGH and LOWconnections. This will damage the product, and may
cause a fire.
CAUTION
•Always disconnect the Power Pack from the electrical outlet when working on the lighting system.
•The device
is a certified component for landscape lighting systems in which the suitability of the
combination shall be determined by UL or other inspection authorities having jurisdiction.
CALCULATING LIGHTING CAPACITY
The 900W Power Pack has a 3x300-watt circuit that powers up to 900 watts of light.
To determine the maximum number of fixtures that can be safely connected to this Power Pack,
add the individual wattage of all the fixtures. The total wattage of the fixtures must not exceed
900 watts.
PREPARATION
Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package
contents list and hardware contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to
assemble the product.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Select location near the outside 120-volt
covered GFCI outlet with cover plate marked for
WET LOCATION. Using mounting template (DD),
mark holes for power pack
(A).
Note: Must be 20 in. above ground level.

2. Drill holes using 3/16 in. drill bit (not included).
Install anchors (BB) and Phillips screws
(CC), leaving enough space for the
power pack
(A).

screws (CC) by means of the keyhole

4. For low-voltage cable connections, split one end
of the low-voltage cable (not included) approximately
2
in., and strip about 3/4 in. of insulation off each wire,
then twist strands together tightly.
5. Distribute the light fixtures (not included) as
as evenly as possible along the low-voltage
cable. Position the higher wattage fixtures
closer to the power pack (A) and lower
wattage fixtures away from
it.
Note: The first fixture should be a minimum of
10 ft. away from the power pack (A).
CAUTION: Voltage drop can cause a light to
dim. How much voltage drop occurs
is
dependant on:
1) number of fixtures on a system
2) the distance of the fixture from the power pack (A)
3) gauge of cable
4) wiring method

6-1. CABLE INSTALLATION
1. Loosen the cable port screws at the bottom
of the
transformer.
2. Thread the pre-stripped cables into the cable ports in
the bottom of transformer and push in firmly.
3. Complete layout and test the system before burying
cable.
4. Mount the transformer to the wall using screws and
template shown
in the assembly instructions on page
6.
6-2. LOOPING WIRE INSTALLATION
Use this method when installing lights
in a closed loop,
such as around the perimeter
of a garden.
1. Determine the distribution of lights and calculate
the total length
of cable needed to complete the circle
and return to the transformer's terminal block.
2. Make sure to not cross the wires when routing the
wires back to the terminaI block. The wire coming out
from a particular terminal block must go back
in the
same terminal block. Note: The wire has a smooth
side and a ridged side for easy identification.
3. An incorrect wire connection will enact protection
mode. The fixtures will not light on the short run and
will be abnormally dim on the long run. Please check
the circuit and reconnect.
4. Please make sure the cable joint is securely
connected with the output connection, otherwise, the
cable wire and the transformer will be destroyed and
could catch fire.
Warning: Please make sure the low-voltage cables are
securely connected to the terminal block
of the power
pack (A) to prevent the risk
of fire, electrical shock, or
damage to the power pack (A).

7. When selecting a location for the fiber optic
cable (EE), make sure it will receive direct sunlight.
DO NOT mount the fiber optic cable (EE)
where it could sense artificial light, as that might
cause the lighting system to shut off unexpectedly.
Drill hole using a 3/16
in. drill bit at desired location
on an outside wall and insert anchor (BB). Secure
photo eye holder (AA) by inserting the Phillips
screw (CC) through he photo eye holder (AA)
and into the anchor
(BB).

8. Insert fiber optic cable (EE) into the
photo eye socket on the bottom of the power
pack (A). Push
in firmly until you hear a "click."
Make sure the fiber optic cable
is never
crimped
in any way. If a longer cable is required,
please call customer service to special order. Cables
up to 25
ft. are available upon request.
Note:
To test the photo eye during the day,
plug the transformer into 120-volt coverd
GFCI outlet and use the black plastic cover provided
to cover the photo eye (make sure the photo eye does
not receive any light). Press the setting button to
"A"
Then, make sure the photo eye is completely covered
and your light fixtures will turn
on. Remove the black
plastic cover, and your lighting fixtures will shut off
automatically (There will
be a 30-second delay of the
photo eye.)
In the event that your photo eye needs
replacing, follow these steps:
Remove the old photo eye from the transformer and
replace
it with a new one. Please notice the direction
of the plug. Forcing the plug into the outlet the
incorrect way will damage the plug.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. After properly installing the power pack (A), turn on the
electrical source. There are two buttons for
operation. By pressing either button,
it will turn
to another working mode. Push either
button repeatedly to scroll through the different
selections.
"0"--0N (lights stay on until manually turned off).
"A" --AUTO (lights turn on at dusk and off at
dawn.)
"1"- "9" --TIMING (lights turn on at dusk
and off after the selected
number of hours.)
If the manual circuit breaker trips, there
is a risk of fire.
Reset the unit or unplug the transformer and check the
following:
1. Is this cable correctly inserted into the power pack
terminals?
2. Is the unit overloaded or are the wires touching?
3. Are the fixtures correctly installed on the cable?
If using a mechanical timer (sold separately), make sure
the mechanical timer
is plugged into the electrical outlet
and the transformer
is plugged into the mechanical timer.
Cover the photo eye with the black plastic cover (included).
Set the transformer to the
"0" position and follow the
instructions included with the mechanical timer to set the
unit.

FUNCTIONS
• Cable distance, total wattage and spacing of the light fixtures affect the light output of each fixture.
• Lower gauge cable, such as 12 gauge (recommended for all runs), allows for the highest wattage
fixture at the beginning
of the run.
• Never exceed 300 watts for any low-voltage cable wire.
• Please make sure the screws connecting the cable to the power pack terminals are tight to
prevent overheating.
CAUTION: A loose wire increases the risk
of fire; tighten all connections securely.

The manufacturer warrants all of its lighting fixtures against defects in materials and workmanship for
a period of one year from the date of purchase. If within this period the product
is found to be
defective
in material or workmanship, the product must be returned, with a copy of the bill of sale as
proof of purchase, to the original place of purchase. The manufacturer will, at its option, repair
replace or refund the purchase price to the original purchaser/consumer. This warranty does not
cover the fixture becoming damaged due to misuse, accidental damage, improper handling and/or
installation and specifically excludes liability for direct, incidental or consequential damages. As some
states do not allow exclusions or limitations
on an implied warranty, the above exclusions and
limitations may not apply. This warranty gives you specific rights and you may also have other rights
that vary from state to state.
