• Donotuseharshchemicals(suchasalcohol,benzene,solvents,etc.)or
detergentstocleanthephone.Thiscouldcausefire.
• Donotdropthephone,strikeit,orshakeithard.

Information about the RF exposure from FCC
InAugust1996,theFederalCommunicationsCommission(FCC)oftheUnited
States,withitsactioninReportandOrderFCC96-326,adoptedanupdatedsafety
standardforhumanexposuretoradiofrequency(RF)electromagneticenergy
emittedbyFCCregulatedtransmitters.Thoseguidelinesareconsistentwiththe
safetystandardpreviouslysetbybothinternationalandU.S.standards.Thedesign
ofthisphonecomplieswithFCCguidelinesandtheseinternationalstandards.

Thisdevicewastestedfortypicalbodyoperation,keepingadistanceof1.0cm

(0.39inch)betweentheuser’sbodyandthebackofthephoneisrequired.
Belt-clips,holsters,andsimilaraccessoriescontainingmetalliccomponents
fromothersmanufacturersincluded LG Electronics shouldnotbeused.
Accessorieswornclosetothebody,withoutkeepingaminimumdistanceof1.0cm
(0.39inch)betweentheuser’sbodyandthebackofthephone,andthathavenot
beentestedfortypicalbodyoperation,maynotcomplywithFCC’sRFexposure
limitsandshouldbeavoided.
Part 15.105 Statement
Thisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaclass
Bdigitaldevice,pursuanttoPart15oftheFCCRules.Theselimitsaredesigned
toprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferenceinaresidential
installation.Thisequipmentgeneratesusesandcanradiateradiofrequencyenergy
and,ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycause
harmfulinterferencetoradiocommunications.However,thereisnoguaranteethat

• Onlyusethebatteryforthesystemforwhichitisspecified.
• Onlyusethebatterywithachargingsystemthathasbeenqualifiedwiththe
systemperthisstandard.Useofanunqualifiedbatteryorchargermaypresent
ariskoffire,explosion,leakage,orotherhazard.
• Donotshortcircuitabatteryorallowmetallicconductiveobjectstocontact
batteryterminals.
• Replacethebatteryonlywithanotherbatterythathasbeenqualifiedwiththe
systemperthisstandard,IEEE-Std-1725.Useofanunqualifiedbatterymay
presentariskoffire,explosion,leakageorotherhazard.
• Promptlydisposeofusedbatteriesinaccordancewithlocalregulations.
• Batteryusagebychildrenshouldbesupervised.
• Avoiddroppingthephoneorbattery.Ifthephoneorbatteryisdropped,
especiallyonahardsurface,andtheusersuspectsdamage,takeittoaservice
centerforinspection.
• Improperbatteryusemayresultinafire,explosionorotherhazard.
• ForthosehostdevicesthatutilizeaUSBportasachargingsource,thehost
device’susermanualshallincludeastatementthatthephoneshallonlybe

• Alwaysunplugthechargerfromthewallsocketafterthephoneisfullycharged

Avoid damage to your ear
• Damagetoyourhearcanoccurduetoconstantexposuretoexcessivehigh
sound.We,therefore,recommendthatyoudonotturnonoroffthephonenear
yourear.Wealsorecommendyoubereasonablewiththemusicandvolume
level.

Exposure to Radio Frequency Signal
Yourwirelesshandheldportabletelephoneisalowpowerradiotransmitterand
receiver.WhenitisON,itreceivesandalsosendsoutradiofrequency(RF)signals.
InAugust,1996,theFederalCommunicationsCommissions(FCC)adopted
RFexposureguidelineswithsafetylevelsforhandheldwirelessphones.Those
guidelinesareconsistentwiththesafetystandardspreviouslysetbybothU.S.and
internationalstandardsbodies:

Thosestandardswerebasedoncomprehensiveandperiodicevaluationsofthe
relevantscientificliterature.Forexample,over120scientists,engineers,and

theavailablebodyofresearchtodeveloptheANSIStandard(C95.1).

Suggestions for a more efficient operation
Foryourphonetooperatemostefficiently:
• Donottouchtheantennaunnecessarily,whenthephoneisinuse.Thecontact

higherpowerlevelthanotherwisewouldbeneed.

• Usehands-freeoperation,ifavailable;
• Pullofftheroadandpark,beforemakingoransweringacall,ifdriving
conditionsdemandso.
Electronic Devices
MostmodernelectronicequipmentisshieldedfromRFsignals.
However,certainelectronicequipmentmaynotbeshieldedagainsttheRFsignals
fromyourwirelessphone.
Pacemaker
TheMedicalIndustryManufacturersAssociationrecommendsaminimumdistance
offifteen(15)centimeters,orsix(6)inches,betweenahandheldwirelessphone
andapacemaker,inordertoavoidpotentialinterferencebetweenthem.
Theseadvicesareconsistentwithindependentresearches,andwith
recommendationsbasedonwirelesstechnologyresearch.
Peoplewithpacemakersshould:
• Alwayskeeptheproductmorethansix(6)inchesfromtheirpacemakerwhen
theproductisturnedON.
• Notcarrythephoneinashirtpocket.
• Usetheearoppositetothepacemaker,tominimizethepotentialinterference.
• Ifyouhaveanyreasontosuspectthatinterferenceistakingplace,switchoff
yourphoneimmediately.
Hearing Aids
Somedigitalwirelessphonesmayinterferewithsomehearingaids.Intheeventof
suchinterference,werecommendthatyoucontactyourserviceprovider.

Turnoffthephonewheninanareawithapotentiallyexplosiveatmosphere,and
obeyallsignsandinstructions.
Sparksinsuchareascouldcauseanexplosionorfirethatcouldresultinpersonal

Areaswithapotentiallyexplosiveatmosphereareoftenclearlymarked,butnot
always.Amongthepotentiallydangerousareasare:
Fuelingareas(suchasgasstations),areasbelowdeckonboats,facilitieswhere
chemicalproductsaretransferredorstored,vehiclesusingliquefiedpetroleumgas
(aspropaneorbutane),areaswheretheaircontainschemicalsorparticles(such
asgrain,dustormetalpowders),andanyotherareaswhereyouwouldnormallybe
advisedtoturnoffyourvehicleengine.
For vehicles equipped with air bags
Airbagsinflatewithstrongforce.Donotplaceobjectsintheareaovertheairbag
orinitsdeploymentarea,includingwirelessequipment,eitherinstalledorportable.
Seriousinjuriescouldoccurifwirelessequipmentisimproperlyinstalledintothecar
whentheairbaginflates.

• Thebatterylifewillvarydependingonusagepatternsandenvironmental
conditions.
• Intensiveuseofbacklighting,browser,andpacketdataconnectivityaffect
batterylifeandtalk/standbytimes.
• Theroleofself-protectioninterruptsthephonewhenitsoperationisinan
abnormalstate.Inthiscase,removethebatteryfromthephone,reinstallit,and
turnonthephone.
Explosion, Shock and Fire Danger
• Donotplacethephoneinaplaceexposedtoexcessivedust,andkeepthe
minimumrequireddistancebetweenthepowercordandheatsources.
• Unplugthepowercordbeforecleaningthephone,andcleanthepowerplug
wheneveritisdirty.
• Whenusingthepowerplug,makesureitisfirmlyconnected.Otherwise,itcan
overheatorstartafire.
• Placingthephoneinapocketorbagwithoutcoveringthereceptacle(power
plugpin),metallicarticles(suchasacoin,cliporpen)mayshort-circuitthe
phone.Alwayscoverthereceptaclewhennotinuse.
• Donotshort-circuitthebattery.Metalitems,suchascoins,paperclips,orpens,
inyourpocketorbagmaycauseashortcircuitbetweenthe+and-terminalsof
thebattery(metalstripsonthebattery).Theshort-circuitoftheterminalsmay
damagethebatteryandcauseanexplosion.

magnetismmaydamagethedatastoredinthemagneticstrip.
• Talkingonthephoneforalongperiodoftimemayreducecallquality,because
oftheheatgeneratedduringuse.

• Donotpaintthephone.
• Datastoredinyourphonemightbedeletedduetocarelessuse,hardware
repairorsoftwareupgrade.Pleasebackupyourimportantphonenumbers
(ringtones,textorvoicemessages,images,andvideosmightalsogetdeleted).
Themanufacturerisnotliablefordamagesduetolossofdata.
• Whenusingthephoneinpublicplaces,youmaysettheringeronvibrateto
avoiddisturbingothers.
• Donotswitchthephoneon/offwhileitisinyourear.
• Repairsunderwarranty,atLG’sdiscretion,mayincludereplacementparts
orboardsthatareeitherneworreconditioned,providedthattheyhave
functionalityequaltothatofthepartsbeingreplaced.
• Pleaseensurethattheproductdoesnotgetincontactwithliquid.Donot
useorrechargetheproductifitiswet.Oncetheproductbecomeswet,the
liquiddamageindicatorchangescolor.Pleasenotethatthiswilllimityoufrom
