Safety precautions
Please read these safety precautions carefully before using the
product.
WARNING
If you ignore the warning message, you may be seriously injured
or there is a possibility of accident or death.
CAUTION
If you ignore the caution message, you may be slightly injured or
the product may be damaged.
Precautions in installing the product
WARNING
fKeep away from heat sources like electrical heaters.
ŹElectrical shock, fire, malfunction or deformation may occur.
fKeep the packing anti-moisture material or vinyl packing out of
the reach of children.
ŹAnti-moisture material is harmful if swallowed. If swallowed
by mistake, force the patient to vomit and visit the nearest
hospital. Additionally, vinyl packing can cause suffocation. Keep
it out of the reach of children.
fDo not put heavy objects on the product or sit upon it.
ŹIf the product collapses or is dropped, you may be injured.
Children must pay particular attention.
fDo not leave the power or signal cable unattended on the
pathway.
ŹThe passerby can falter, which can cause electrical shock, fire,
product breakdown or injury.
fInstall the product in a neat and dry place.
ŹDust or moisture can cause electrical shock, fire or product
damage.
fIf you can smell smoke or other odors or hear a strange sound
unplug the power cord and contact the service center.
ŹIf you continue to use without taking proper measures,

fWhen connecting it with a game device, keep a distance of four
times as long as the diagonal measurement of the screen from
the device.
ŹIf the product falls because of the short cable, this may cause
injury and/or damage to the product.
fLeaving a fixed image on the screen for a long time may cause
damage to the screen and cause image burn-in.To use the product
for a long period of time, use a screen saver on the PC or utilize
the residual image prevention function on the product, and when
the product is not used, turn off the power. Burn-in and related
problems are not covered by the warranty on this product.
fDo NOT install this product on a wall where there is high risk of
exposure to oil fumes or mist.

fMake sure the product ventilation hole is not blocked. Install the
product in a suitably wide place. (more than 10 cm from the wall)

fIf you install the product in a place that does not meet the
recommended conditions, this may cause serious damage to the
product's picture quality, life cycle and appearance. Please check
with LG or a qualified installer before installing.This caution
applies to a place where there is an abundance of fine dust or oil
mist, chemical substances are used, the temperature is very high
or low, the humidity is very high, or the product is likely to remain
turned on for a long period of time (airport and train station),
failure to do so will invalidate the warranty.
fDo not install the product in an area with poor ventilation (e.g.on
a bookshelf, in a closet) or outside and avoid placing on cushions
or carpets.
fIn addition, do not install it where there are heating objects such
as lighting equipment.
Precautions to the AC adapter and
electrical power
WARNING
fIf water or any foreign substance goes inside the product (TV,
monitor, power cord, or AC adapter), disconnect the power cord
immediately and contact the service center.
ŹOtherwise, this may cause a fire or electric shock due to damage
to the product.
fDo not touch the power plug or AC adapter with wet hands. If the
pins of the plug are wet or dusty, wipe and dry them before use.
ŹOtherwise, this may cause a fire or electric shock.

fMake sure to completely insert the power cord into the AC adapter.
ŹIf loosely connected, the poor connection may cause a fire or

fWhen unplugging the power cord, always pull it by the plug. Do
not bend the power cord with excessive force.

fIf you don't intend to use the product for a long time, unplug the

ŹIf the power cable is not fixed completely, a fire can break out.
fDo not insert a conductor (like a metal chopstick) into one end
of the power cable while the other end is connected to the input
terminal on the wall. Additionally, do not touch the power cable
right after plugging into the wall input terminal.

fThe appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device.
fPlease make sure the device is installed near the wall outlet to
which it is connected and that the outlet is easily accessible.
fAs long as this unit is connected to the AC wall outlet, it is not

fFor an optimal connection, HDMI cables and USB devices should
have bezels less than 10 mm thick and 18 mm width. Use an
extension cable that supports USB 2.0 if the USB cable or USB
memory stick does not fit into your monitor’s USB port.

Moving and lifting the monitor
When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these instructions to
prevent the monitor from being scratched or damaged and to ensure
safe transportation, regardless of its shape or size.
fIt is advisable to place the monitor in the original box or packing
material before attempting to move it.
fBefore moving or lifting the monitor, disconnect the power cord
and all cables.
fHold the top and bottom of the monitor frame firmly. Do not hold
the panel itself.
fWhen holding the monitor, the screen should face away from you
to prevent it from being scratched.
fWhen transporting the monitor, do not expose the monitor to jolts
or excessive vibration.
fWhen moving the monitor, keep it upright and never turn the
monitor on its side or tilt it sideways.

Installing the monitor
CAUTION

fRemove the stand before installing the monitor on a wall mount by
performing the stand attachment in reverse.

Mounting on a wall
Install the monitor at least 10 cm away from the wall and leave
about 10 cm of space at each side of the monitor to ensure sufficient
ventilation. Detailed installation instructions can be obtained from
your local retail store. Alternatively, please refer to the manual for
how to install and set up a tilting wall mounting bracket.

To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall mounting bracket
(optional) to the back of the monitor. Make sure that the wall
mounting bracket is securely fixed to the monitor and to the wall.
1If you use screws longer than the standard length, it may
damage the inside of the product.
2A non-VESA standard screw may damage the product and cause
the monitor to fall. LG Electronics is not liable for any accidents
relating to the use of non-standard screws.

Connections (Notifications)
Your monitor supports the Plug & Play* feature and has the built-in
speakers withVirtual Surround that reproduces sound clearly with
a rich bass.
* Plug & Play:The function when a PC recognizes a connected device
that users connect to a PC and turn on, without device configuration
or user intervention.
NOTE
fFor the best picture quality, connect the external device and the
monitor with the HDMI cable.
fThe monitor may flicker when turned on in an area where the
temperature is low.This is normal.
fSometimes red, green, or blue spots may appear on the screen.
This is normal.
fDo not press the screen for a prolonged time. This may cause
image distortion.
fDo not display a still image on the screen for a prolonged time.
This may cause image retention. Use a screensaver if possible.
Other connections
Some separate cable is not provided.
For the best picture and audio quality, connect the external device
and the monitor with the HDMI cable.
fUSB port supports 0.5 A electric current. If you need more electric
current in case of HDD, use the separate power adaptor.
Connecting to a PC
NOTE
fIf you want to use HDMI-PC mode, you must set the Input Label
to PC mode.
fThe OSD (On Screen Display) is displayed on the screen as shown
below.

Remote control
The descriptions in this manual are based on the buttons on the
remote control.
Please read this manual carefully and use the monitor correctly.To
replace batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries
(1.5 V AAA) matching the and ends to the label inside the
compartment, and close the battery cover.
To remove the batteries, perform the installation actions in reverse.
CAUTION
fDo not mix old and new batteries, as this may damage the remote
control.
fThis remote uses infrared light.When in use, it should be pointed
in the direction of the monitor’s remote sensor.

Setting the monitor
Turning the monitor on for the rst time
When you access the monitor for the first time, the initial setting
screen appears. Select a language and customize the basic settings.
1Connect the power cord to a power outlet.
2Standby Light is turned on. Set the joystick buttons on the
monitor or press the Power, , INPUT ,
Number buttons on the remote control to turn the monitor on.
The Standby Light is turned off.
3The initial setting screen appears if you access the monitor for
the first time.
4Follow the on-screen instructions to customize your monitor
according to your preferences.
Language Selects a language for the display.
Mode Setting Selects Home Use for the home environment.
Standby Light
Selects the Standby Light. If you select On,
the monitor turns on the Standby Light in the
front panel when the monitor is off.
NOTE
fYou can also access Factory Reset by accessing option in the main
menus.
fIf you do not operate the monitor within 40 seconds when the
setting menu screen appears, the setting menus will disappear.
fTo display images in the best quality for your home environment,
select Home Use mode.
fStore Demo mode is suitable for the retail environment.
CAUTION
fDisconnect the power cord from the power outlet when you do not
use the monitor for a long period of time.
