SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Many electrical and mechanical parts in this chassis have special sa ety-related characteristics. These parts are identi ied by in
the Schematic Diagram and Exploded View.
It is essential that these special sa ety parts should be replaced with the same components as recommended in this manual to
prevent X-RADIATION, Shock, Fire, or other Hazards.
Do not modi y the original design without permission o manu acturer.
General Guidance
An isolation Transformer should always be used during the
servicing o a receiver whose chassis is not isolated rom the AC
power line. Use a trans ormer o adequate power rating as this
protects the technician rom accidents resulting in personal injury
rom electrical shocks.
It will also protect the receiver and it's components rom being
damaged by accidental shorts o the circuitry that may be
inadvertently introduced during the service operation.
I any use (or Fusible Resistor) in this monitor is blown, replace it
with the speci ied.
When replacing a high wattage resistor (Oxide Metal Film
Resistor, over 1W), keep the resistor 10mm away rom PCB.
Keep wires away rom high voltage or high temperature parts.
Due to high vacuum and large sur ace area o picture tube,
extreme care should be used in handling the Picture Tube.
Do not li t the Picture tube by it's Neck.
Leakage Current Cold Check(Antenna Cold Check)
With the instrument AC plug removed rom AC source, connect
an electrical jumper across the two AC plug prongs. Place the
AC switch in the on position, connect one lead o ohm-meter to
the AC plug prongs tied together and touch other ohm-meter
lead in turn to each exposed metallic parts such as antenna
terminals, phone jacks, etc.
I the exposed metallic part has a return path to the chassis, the
measured resistance should be between 1MΩ and 5.2MΩ.
When the exposed metal has no return path to the chassis the
reading must be in inite.
An other abnormality exists that must be corrected be ore the
receiver is returned to the customer.
Leakage Current ot Check (See below Figure)
Plug the AC cord directly into the AC outlet.
Do not use a line Isolation Transformer during this check.
Connect 1.5K/10watt resistor in parallel with a 0.15uF capacitor
between a known good earth ground (Water Pipe, Conduit, etc.)
and the exposed metallic parts.
Measure the AC voltage across the resistor using AC voltmeter
with 1000 ohms/volt or more sensitivity.
Reverse plug the AC cord into the AC outlet and repeat AC
voltage measurements or each exposed metallic part. Any
voltage measured must not exceed 0.75 volt RMS which is
corresponds to 0.5mA.
In case any measurement is out o the limits speci ied, there is
possibility o shock hazard and the set must be checked and
repaired be ore it is returned to the customer.

ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTION
1. Application Range
This spec sheet is applied to all o the PD02A chassis.
2. Specification
(1) Because this is not a hot chassis, it is not necessary to use
an isolation trans ormer. However, the use o isolation
trans ormer will help protect test instrument.
(2) Adjustment must be done in the correct order.
(3) The adjustment must be per ormed in the circumstance o
25 °C ± 5 °C o temperature and 65 % ± 10 % o relative
humidity i there is no speci ic designation.
(4) The input voltage o the receiver must keep 100 V ~ 240
V, 50 / 60 Hz.
(5) The receiver must be operated or about 5 minutes prior to
the adjustment when module is in the circumstance o over
15 °C
- In case o keeping module is in the circumstance o 0 °C,
it should be placed in the circumstance o above 15 °C
or 2 hours
- In case o keeping module is in the circumstance o below
-20 °C, it should be placed in the circumstance o above
15 °C or 3 hours,.
OA ter RGB Full White in HEAT-RUN Mode, the receiver
must be operated prior to the adjustment.
OEnter into HEAT-RUN MODE
1) Press the POWER ON KEY on R/C or adjustment.
2) OSD display and screen display PATTERN MODE.
- Set is activated HEAT run without signal generator in this
mode.
- Single color pattern ( WHITE ) o HEAT RUN MODE uses
to check panel.
- Caution : I you turn on a still screen more than 20
minutes (Especially digital pattern, cross hatch pattern),
an a ter image may be occur in the black level part o the
screen.

PCB Assembly Adjustment Method
* Caution: Using ‘power on’ button o the control R/C power on
TV.
3-1. MAC Address and CI+ Key.
* Connect TV SET and PC which download MAC Address
Writing program by RS232C-Cable
(1) Start “MAC+CIKeyl.exe”Program and Click (3) Button to
connect TV and PC.
(2) Click (4) to download MAC Address.
(3) Click (5) to download CI+ Key.
(4) When download succeed, you can see “OK” on (6)
* Each Chassis has it’ own MAC Address. Please be care ul o
download.
3-2. Ping TEST
* This test is to check Network operation.
(1) Press "Power on" button o a service R/C.(Baud rate :
115200 bps)
(2) Connect RS232-C Signal Cable.
(3) Connect LAN cable to MAIN PCB Assembly.
(4) When network operates normally, you can see “OK”.

3-4. Insert Tool OPTION
(1) Press ADJ key on R/C to insert Tool OPTION
(2) On the “ Tool Option”, Insert Tool Option by a number key
(3) Press the ENTER(V)
(4) Press ENTER(V) again.
(5) Select “OK to Download” by using F/G(VOL +/-) and
press G(VOL +)

3-5. EDID(The Extended Display
Identification Data) download
(1) Press the ADJ KEY on R/C and enter EZ ADJUST.
(2) Select “5.EDID D/L” by using D/E(CH +/-) and press
ENTER(V).
(3) Select “Start” and press navigation key(G).
(4) EDID download is executed automatically.
(5) Press EXIT key on R/C
* Caution
- Never connect HDMI & D-sub Cable when the user
download EDID .

(1) Press ‘InStart’ Key on Factory SVC Remote Controller.
And MUST check ADC & EDID ADJ status is OK.
4. SET assembly adjustment method
* Caution : Each PCB assembly must be checked by check JIG
set. (Because power PCB Assembly damages to PDP
Module, especially be care ul)
4-1. POWER Supply Unit PCB Ass’y

Adjustment method
(1) Va adjustment
1) Connect + terminal o D.M.M. to Va pin o P811, connect
-terminal to GND pin o P811.
2) A ter turning VR502,voltage o D.M.M adjustment as
same as Va voltage which on label o panel right/top
(deviation; ±0.5V)
(2) Vs adjustment
1) Connect + terminal o D.M.M. to Vs pin o P811, connect
-terminal to GND pin o P811.
2) A ter turning VR901, voltage o D.M.M adjustment as
same as Vs voltage which on label o panel right/top
(deviation ; ±0.5V)
4-2. Download Serial number (RS-232C)
VPress “Power on” key o service R/C.
(Baud rate : 115200 bps)
VConnect RS232 Signal Cable to RS-232 Jack.
VWrite Serial number by use RS-232.
VMust check the serial number at the Diagnostics o SET UP
menu.
(Re er to below ‘6.SET INFORMATION’).
4-3. Adjustment of White Balance
Required Equipment

* Please adjust CA-210, CA-100+ by CS-1000 be ore
measuring
OAuto W/B adjustment instrument(only or Auto adjustment)
O9 Pin D-Sub Jack(RS232C) is connected to the AUTO W/B
EQUIPMENT.
Before Adjust of White Balance, Please press POWER ONLY
key
Adjust Process will start by execute RS232C Command.
O Color temperature standards according to CSM and Module
OCS-1000/CA-100+/CA-210(CH 10)
White balance adjustment coordinates and color temperature.
* Manual W/B process (using adjusts Remote control)
Please Adjust in AV 1 MODE, Turn o Energy Saving Mode.
(1) Enter ‘PICTURE RESET’ on Picture Mode, then turn o
Fresh Contrast and Fresh colour in Advanced Control
(2) A ter enter Service Mode by pushing “ADJ” key,
(3) Enter White Pattern o o service mode, and change o ->
on.
(4) Enter “W/B ADJUST” by pushing “G” key at “3. W/B
ADJUST”.
* Gain Max Value is 192. So, Never make any Gain Value over
192 and please ix one Value on 192, between R, G and B.

* Auto-control inter ace and directions
(1) Adjust in the place where the in lux o light like loodlight
around is blocked. (Illumination is less than 10ux).
(2) Measure and adjust a ter sticking the Color Analyzer (CA-
100+, CA210 ) to the side o the module.
(3) Aging time
A ter aging start, keep the Power on (no suspension o
power supply) and heat-run over 5 minutes
4-4. Serial number download & Model
name D/L and Check Tool Option.
(1) Press "Power on" button o a service R/C.(Baud rate :
115200 bps)
(2) Connect RS232-C Signal Cable and start ‘Option Check
Program Ver3.8’
(3) Scan serial Number and press ‘F5’ button.
(4) Check ‘OK’ on program 1) program.
(5) Press ‘In start’ button on SVC R/C, check Serial Number
and Model Name.
4-5. Checking the EYE-Q Operation.
(1) Press the EYE Key on the adjustment remote controller.
(2) Check the Sensor DATA ( It must be under 10) and keep
the data longer than 1.5s
3) Check ‘OK’
(Sensor DATA 0 ~ 4095, Power Saving Mode 0 ~ 12)
* IF you press IN-STAP Button, change Green Eye-check OSD.
4-6. Ping TEST
* This test is to check Network operation.
(1) Connect LAN cable rom Computer to TV Set
(2) When network operates normally, you can see “OK” on
Computer
5. Set Information
(Serial No & Model name)
5-1. Check the serial number
& Model Name
(1) Push the menu button and press red button on R/C to
enter ‘Customer Support’menu.
(2) Move to ‘signal test’ menu. And check Serial No & Model
Name
Select the STATION -> Diagnostics -> To set
6. SW Download Guide.
* Be ore put a *.epk to USB Stick make ‘LG_DTV’ older in USB.
Then, put *.epk ile to ‘LG_DTV’ older and Turn on TV
(1) Put the USB Stick to the USB socket
(2) Automatically detecting update ile in USB Stick
* I your downloaded program version in USB Stick is Low,
it didn’t work.
But your downloaded version is High, USB data is
automatically detecting.
(3) Show the message “Copying iles rom memory”
(4) Updating is staring.
(5) Updating Completed, The TV will restart automatically.
A ter turn on TV, Please press ‘IN-STOP’ button on ADJ
Remote-control.
* IF you don’t have ADJ R/C, enter ‘Factory Reset’ in
OPTION MENU.
(6) When TV turns on, check the Updated version on
Diagnostics MENU.
