READ AND UNDERSTAND INSTRUCTIONS: Read and unders and his manual before
opera ing his equipmen . Arc welding can be hazardous. Failure o follow he ins ruc ions in his

ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN KILL: Welding equipmen genera es high vol ages. Do no ouch he
elec rode, work clamp, or connec ed work pieces when his equipmen is on. Insula e yourself
from he elec rode, work clamp and connec ed work pieces.
ARC RAYS CAN BURN: Use a shield wi h he proper fil er and cover pla es o pro ec your eyes
from sparks and he rays of he arc when welding or observing. Use sui able clo hing made from
durable flame-resis an ma erial o pro ec you skin and ha of your helpers. Pro ec o her nearby
personnel wi h sui able, non-flammable screening and warn hem no o wa ch he arc nor expose
hemselves o he arc.
WELDING SPARKS CAN CAUSE FIRE OR EXPLOSION: Remove fire hazards from he welding
area and have a fire ex inguisher readily available. Welding sparks and ho ma erials from he
welding process can easily go hrough small cracks and openings o adjacen areas. Do no weld
on any anks, drums, con ainers, or ma erial un il he proper s eps have been aken o insure ha
no flammable or oxic vapors will be presen . Never opera e his equipmen when flammable
gases, vapors or liquid combus ibles are presen .
FUMES AND GASES CAN BE DANGEROUS: Welding may produce fumes and gases
hazardous o heal h. Avoid brea hing hese fumes and gases. To avoid hese dangers he
opera or mus use enough ven ila ion or exhaus o keep fumes and gases away from he
brea hing zone.
ELECTRICALLY POWERED EQUIPMENT: Turn off inpu power using he disconnec swi ch a
he fuse box before working on his equipmen . Ground his equipmen in accordance wi h local
elec rical regula ions.
ELECTRICALLY POWERED EQUIPMENT: Regularly inspec he inpu , elec rode, and work
clamp cables. If any insula ion damage exis s replace he cable immedia ely. Do no place he
elec rode holder direc ly on he welding able or any o her surface in con ac wi h he work clamp
o avoid he risk of acciden al arc igni ion.
ELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC FIELDS MAY BE DANGEROUS: Elec ric curren flowing hrough
any conduc or crea es elec ric and magne ic fields (EMF). EMF fields may in erfere wi h some
pacemakers and welders having a pacemaker shall consul heir physician before opera ing his
equipmen .
CYLINDER MAY EXPLODE IF DAMAGED: Use only compressed gas cylinders con aining he
correc shielding gas for he process used and properly opera ing regula ors designed for he gas
and pressure used. Always keep cylinders in an uprigh posi ion securely chained o a fixed
suppor . Do no move or ranspor gas cylinders wi h he pro ec ion cap removed. Do no allow
he elec rode, elec rode holder, work clamp or any o her elec rically live par o ouch a gas
cylinder. Gas cylinders mus be loca ed away from areas where hey may be subjec ed o
physical damage or he welding process including sparks and hea sources.
WELDED MATERIALS CAN BURN: Welding genera es a large amoun of hea . Ho surfaces
and ma erials in work area can cause serious burns. Use gloves and pliers when ouching or
moving ma erials in he work area.
