Cylinder setup
The cylinder should be kept upright at all times
throughout the installation process. Clean the
bottom of the cylinder of any debris, excess paint,
and rust.
The sensor mounts to the bottom centre of the
cylinder using magnets. The rubber pad between
the magnets must make good contact with the
cylinder, with no contaminants in between and
must be aligned to the bottom centre of the
cylinder.
Check that the cylinder is on a level and at
surface or otherwise is level with ground. Even
a slight tilt can degrade the quality of the
measurement.
After a short period the LPG will settle and the
readings will stabilize.

Using the app
Adding more sensors will keep adding to the sensor list. Up to 50 sensors can be added.
Selecting a sensor from the list takes you to the sensor’s info screen that shows the battery condition,
Bluetooth signal strength, and detection quality. A low quality level often indicates an installation
problem, such as poor placement, debris or excessive paint, etc. which can cause erraticreadings.

MT Tracker BBQ Operating Manual08
Selecting the pencil icon will bring up the settings page for the sensor, where you can edit the sensor
name, select your cylinder size or enter an arbitrary custom size, set LPG level alarm threshold and
level display units.

09MT Tracker BBQ Operating Manual
To remove a sensor from the app list, swipe left on the sensor in the list. A delete button will appear.
Select delete to confirm removal of the sensor from the app.

The enclosure lid is held in place by a snap t,
in 4 places. In the approximate locations shown,
insert small screwdriver between lid and base
and pry outward to release snap t. Lid can then
be lifted out of assembly. (Note: Sync button will
sometimes be slightly stuck to electronics board.
Detach sync button and board if necessary to
completely remove lid and leave electronics in
the base piece.)
Gently lift board from base such that battery
can be removed from battery holder. Insert new
battery in same orientation. (Note: Wires that
connect sensor base and electronics board remain
attached during battery change. Use care not pull
too hard on wires thus damaging the sensor.)

Troubleshooting tips
Make sure your cylinder is level. If the cylinder is
sitting at an angle, the surface of the liquid will
also be at an angle, sometimes causing incorrect
readings.
MT Tracker BBQ™ sensor must be located
properly. The black rubber contact pad should be
placed on centre of the cylinder bottom.
If experiencing a reading that looks incorrect
or erratic, sometimes a slight reposition of the
sensor will correct the problem.
If the bottom of the cylinder is dirty or rusty it will
need to be wiped clean of any debris first. Also
the black rubber contact pad on the sensor should
be kept clean.
If the cylinder is moving or vibrating it will
degrade the quality of the signal.
Movement of the cylinder can cause the liquid
to slosh, sometimes causing erratic readings.
Readings should go back to normal after a few
minutes.
It’s typical to see the level change slightly with
changing temperature. This is a characteristic of
LPG as it boils into gas.
MT Tracker BBQ™ sensor is shipped in sleep mode
to preserve battery life. You must press the Sync
button on the sensor at least 5 times to wake it
up before it will be detected.
